I would like to present a question. It would be nice to get your take: I know Miami has allot of problems. But has anyone else noticed that our special teams is not very good. I think in the past 5 years, the Fins have returned maybe one or two kicks back...i think Ginn did it a couple of times........maybe Cobb did too but i cannot remember..............I do know that we allowed allot of returns this year for either TDS or chunks of yards. The Raider game comes to mind. Didnt we have problems with Hester and the Bears, too?? Dont you think the Fins need to do something about thier special teams? We have really never improved there either! Remember Scott Miller, and Scott Swuedes...lol!!! Wouldnt it be nice to get some talent back there with actual speed and ability??
Iam prepared to spend a third round pick on the best kick returner/position player available.. The negative dynamics that special teams did to our team this year were just that, dynamicly negative.
I would work on getting people to stop other Kr/Pr's before looking for one ourselves. Besides Carroll looks pretty good as our Kr.
Our pass defense blows worse then our special teams. Watch NE midgets catch and run around our vaunted defense Sunday like little Peruvian Monkey children at the Park.
Does anyone remember the last blocked FG they have had? Serious question, I don't recall ever seeing one since I started following them....
I dont see great instincts on carroll, and Iam just plain tired of never and I mean never, having dynamic ability back there...Theres some good players that can fill that role, and an explosive role on offense, that look to have around a third round grade..
I remember doug betters blocking an extra point to beat the eagles by 1 point in 1984.Other than that I don't remember ever blocking field goal.
I understand your frustration with all the dropped int's. But fact remains that we are 7th against the pass and even though we aren't catching them, they are still knocking them down and defending pretty well. That and it's a bunch of young inexperienced players back there. Next year they should be one of the best pass defenses in the league
If we caught at least a 1/4 of those dropped INT's we would have won, or at least have been in a better position to win, more games this season.
