Ingram and O'Dowd some Strong Safety and a Te from Alabama? Hmm, now if O'Dowd was skipped in favor of Devine and we added Ingram, then picked up a Center later in the draft, they would be onto something. But this Draft will be heavily influenced by what they do in Free Agency, if we added say Jerome Harrison, we would not need Devine.
I would LOVE to see Wiezneski (sp) slip to us. We would instantly be upgradedan and Hambergler could be kept for depth at the 3 interior positions. Not real high on Ingram. IMHO, he's Ronnie Redux.
Still of the train of thought if you get Ahmad Bradshaw, you can draft a C like Wisniewski or Pouncey in the 1st (or 2nd if we trade down) and grab someone like Mikel LeShoure to compliment Bradshaw. Thus, it'd eliminate having to replace both Ronnie and Ricky in subsequent seasons - just do it all at once and cut the chord on them already.
Well, to me, unless a Running Back is Emmit Smith special, I cannot see using a #1 pick on him as upgrading the Oline is usually enough to make a good running back a outstanding one, or at least to have an outstanding season. Check this out AZ: Two rookie running backs are tied for the Rookie Rushing lead, both Ivory and Blount...undrafted free agents... If Wisniewski is the guy they target to plug and play for the next 8 yrs, I have -0- problem with making that choice.
That's just a really odd draft full stop. Love at 6 and Nate Solder at 33?? Adrian Clayborn at 21? OK, Clayborn's sack total has been down. Why? He's been doubled and chipped every down. Watch him against the Outland Trophy winner and tell me that's the 21st best player in the draft. Von Miller at 23. The best pure pass rusher in the nation? Please. If Miller went in the top 10 I wouldn't be surprised. 23 is an embarrassment. Greg Jones in R1? I'd shoot myself if Miami did that. Kyle Rudolph, along with Allen Bailey, is the most overrated player in the draft. Ryan Williams at 57?????????? Marvin Austin at 83????????? OK so I know he sat out the year but you still have Robert Quinn in the top 12 and he sat out the year as well. Davon House should be higher. DeAndre McDaniel at 89? I know he's been hurt, but hello?!
Eh well, one thing I have noticed is that players tend to get over valued or under valued as the Draft moves closer. Miller could run a average 40, Running Backs in the draft have fallen in value lately etc. As was pointed out, the two rookies leading the NFL in rushing yardage this yr were both UDFA's.
Miller could run an average forty, but you'd be pretty dumb to ignore his ability to get to the QB over the past 2 seasons.
I've been disappointed with Heyward this year. Dominated 1 on 1 by Gabe Carimi but for a couple of plays. Compare that to how Adrian Clayborn played against him.
To me, Cam Heyward is a Defensive Tackle at the next level. Or maybe a 3-4 Defensive End. I don't think he projects to 4-3 Defensive End. And I made that projection before the 2010 college season even began, based off his previous years' tape.
