Post whatever information about the upcoming matchup here (if you want to) -Jets are down to Eric Smith and Brodney Poole as James Ihedibego appears to have a high ankle sprain -Vern Carey left Sunday's game with a knee problem and Lydon Murtha replaced him..and no one noticed..
Not so much FF, the Jets will have to sign a street FA safety, and a thread for "Al Harris back at practice" seems a bit too much, so a one stop shopping spot for information made sense to me. I think Vern C is in a bad way.
Vern has been playing like a wounded puppy for a couple games now. I'm sure he's been hurt for a minute.
Yep, though Poole can make plays. With as heavily as the Jets blitz this can only be seen as a positive they will have to move a Cb to S and sign a Street Fa Cb imho.
Jets signed COLES to help WR duties... they are going to have to focus less on O-side and more on D-side with these latest injuries
They're saying it's going to snow or rain here this weekend, but as we all know that can change as late as Saturday night and it's way too early to tell. I would like a snow game though.
Hmm, let's see if my theory holds..going bargain basement for a kicker is a mistake on a team that plans to contend.
Prediction: ugly, low-scoring game. Tempted to pick the Dolphins, looking at it objectively, but they sucked worse this week. So the Jets will win. *knocks on wood*
I'm not so sure about that. You usually have to watch college football to see the kind of domination you saw last night in every phase of the game.
Losing to Jake Delhomme? I rest my case. Maybe I was delusional with my last comment, but that was a pathetic display by Miami on Sunday. As was last night with the Jets.
Had Chancey Stuckey not had a brain fart, the Jets would have lost to Cleveland as well. Sorry...it is not close....a fluke loss 13-10 after being terrible is nowhere near....Big game beatdown at 45-3. 45-3. 45-3.
So what you're saying is that Murtha is actually pretty solid. If that's the case, rest Carey for a week and put him in at LG, see if we can establish some push.
Christ, only a Jets fan can justify thinking that the Dolphins losing by 3 is somehow worse than lose by 6 touchdowns.
Miami played poorly on offence , Yets played well in what facet of last night's game? When you talk big .... you know the rest ....
I picked Miami to win this game back in late September. Not so sure now. I expect the Jets to be extremely angry after that horrendous showing on MNF. That was simply inexcusable. They got their asses handed to them. I think they will take it out of Miami. I heard that the Giants have opened the stadium to Miami on friday so they can acclimate themselves to the conditions. That was nice of Big Blue.
He was signed for motivational purposes, whatever the hell that means. But he is going to be cut to make room for a DB...if they can find one.
They were both bad losses and trying to debate which one was worse is kind of silly. At the end of the day, whether by 1 point or 99 points, both the Jets and the Dolphins get an "L" in the loss column. No doubt that losing 13-10 is more of a quality loss than getting blown out 45 -3. The Jets never had a chance to win and Miami did. That being said, the Jets loss was on the road to one of the best teams in the league (as much as it pains me to say it) and they still are very much alive for the playoffs. I had this game as a loss and so did most of the country. The Browns loss, albeit close, was at home against a team you should have beat. It also severely crippled your playoff chances. Lastly, when you factor in the Jets loss, Miami blew a chance to pick up a game on NY. So if you want to feel better about the Browns loss, be my guess. I thought it was a horrible and inexcusable loss. They way the Jets lost was inexcusable (to be humiliated like that), but it was a game most people thought they were going to lose. NOt making excuses, because there is no excuse for that pathetic display of football. But at the end of the day the Jets are 9-3, just like I thought they would be at this point (actually, I had them 8-4 at this point).
Yeah, the Jets had better install the 100 inch TV at the facility so they can watch it in comfort... Well, Clint Hart was a UFLer as well and a decent safety, Trufant is more in the mold of ex Eagle Erik McMillian, small guy, really feisty.
Who? You're not talking about this guy, are you? http://www.nfl.com/players/erikmcmillan/profile?id=MCM431899
I always thought of him as a Jet, since he had his best years of his brief career with them. All I remember is that he liked to play center field and try to pick off passes....and he was a lousy tackler. Made Cromartie look like Mike Singletary.
Ah, so he was a Jet? Whenever I look at stats I never make it past the "je.." the rest of the name is mentally whited out.
He intercepted a bunch of passes his first few years (lead the AFC in his rookie year). He was drafted by the Jets in the 3rd round of the 1988 draft. He was defensive rookie of the year in 1988 and made the pro bowl in 1989 (on a 4-12 Jets squad).
