I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas on where I should go to eat and any special places my brother and I should see when we go time for the first time to Miami to see them play the Bills. Any place the players go to eat or stay the day or two before the game. Any bar and grills or places that got some good Dolphins items to buy?

    Thanks for the help....JETS SUCK!

    West Miami-Dade County
If you are looking to fraternize with any of the players look to Ft. Lauderdale instead of Miami. I don't think a single one lives in Miami-Dade County.

Seriously, I would not worry about seeing anyone down there. I have probably visited 10 times in my adult life and I have had fun with everything that I have done. Then again, I'm a landscape type of guy. I just like riding around seeing what other people do in other parts of the country. Here are some things that I've had fun doing.

You can drive right to the middle of downtown Miami, park in a city garage and enjoy a full days worth of activity the Bayside Marketplace. There is a Cuban restaurant there that serves a fabulous breakfast. I can't even remember what I had but it was delicious. It's on the waterfront with a cove full of sailboats. The atmosphere is terrific. If you are going to do some shopping it a great place with some great shops. It's got a Hooters for lunch too. If that's not enough you are right across the street from American Airlines arena. Bongo's is a club in the back of American Airlines arena. It's Gloria Estafan's club and there is some damn fine women in attendance. Tell the bouncer at the door that you are from out of town, you would like to see the place but you are not waiting to get in. They'll open that roped line right up for you. Proper attire is required. Many moons ago, a couple of friends and I took a 50 year old married man to the place and he drooled all night. So choose who you take with you wisely. There is also a club in the Bayside Marketplace. It too has a latin flare. I can't remember the name of that one but it sits right on the corner (next to the waterfront) across from the Hard Rock. It's small and not too cozy as it's outdoors but the music and dance are entertaining to say the least.

South Beach..... The main strip is just wierd. I've never seen such and eclectic mix of people in my life. I'd walk it again just to take it in but unless you are young with ripped abs, a sack full of drugs, and a pocket full of money - it's probably not all that it's cracked up to be. That's the impression I got of it at least. I'd do it again but I'm just sitting at the table on the sidewalk, drinking a beer, and people watching. I ain't going in to the bar. The club scene in Miami Beach may be different. There are a ton of clubs in Miami Beach. They are all fancy and I've never attended one of them. I was just too old too care when I finally got down there. Then again, I've been with the same woman for 17 years. So take that information for what you will.

Vizcaya - google it if you have never heard of it. It's a must see.

Everglades - unless you are alligator wrestling or fishing don't waste your time. That is unless you are a nature lover. Then by all means take in the swamp.

Lincoln Road - It seems like Miami Beach is attempting to make this a tourist destination for shopping. That's great but there is nothing there.

Coconut Grove - I've spent a day there. It seems more like it's a place for residents than tourists. That day is probably all that I will ever see of the Grove.

Drive! If it was just me and it was my first day down there, I could just drive. I'd get off I-95 at Sunny Isles and just drive A1A down all the way to South Beach. Of course, I'd veer off the path here and there but when I first got down there I just had to see all the places that I had heard about. And I did do just that. My first time down there I stayed on the beach in Miami Beach. When I awoke the next morning, I got a cup of coffee and just drove around. I drove up the Venetian Causeway to Biscayne Blvd back down 195. I thought enough time had passed that the family would be awake and then we started driving again. I took them downtown through the financial district and Brickell. Then we turned the car around and stumbled upon the Bayside Markeplace on the way back. Miami is a fun place to explore. By the way, Key Biscayne is a longer drive than would first appear.

...........I just wish someone could tell me if I'm safe in Little Havana. I got halfway in after I95 and turned around because I just got the feeling that my lily-white *** just didn't belong there. ;)
