If there is no football in 2011, how will the draft order be set for 2012 ?

That could be important for us, if we are still looking for a QB by that time. Has there been any talk about this ? Will the NFL use the same order as 2011 ?

Funny, I was thinking the same thing today.

Would imagine the two most likely scenarios would be to repeat the draft in the same order, or randomize it.

If the latter I would bet some serious cash on the Pats landing a top 5 pick.

Wow. Talk about jumping the gun.

But the answer is that if there’s no CBA in 2012, there will be no draft. There will still be a draft in 2011 even if there’s no CBA, though.

What happens with all the graduates then? A big FA pool? That would be some crazy ****. I can imagine the Pats grabbing the best QB to ride the pine for another 2 years until they cut loose Brady. God I hate them so much. I guess you could just dump them into a huge 2013 draft.

No CBA means no legal way to acquire players. They’d basically be ineligible to join the NFL until a new CBA is ratified. But that’s an extreme instance, because you’re basically counting on there being no new CBA from March 2011 through April 2012. That’s a long time.

Very true, but the news is all bad right now. I really hope the owners, players and league can't be this stupid, but they need to get moving. The owners are far too greedy for their own good, the players don't want to give anything up and the league can't decide which ones it wants to appease. I really hope we don't hit a lockout, but it's not looking good. :(
