Where were you at and what do you remember most about this game???? I was 19 and in my second year of college. I just remember how we killed them and made them look bad. Mike Ditka was chewing his gum like crazy on the sideline and not being able to stop us. I think Jim McMahon missed this game, but it wouldn't have made a difference had he played.
Ohhhhh man don't bring that up!!!!! I feel sick thinking about it. That win was the first for the Patriots at the Orange Bowl since 1966, the Dolphins, ending a string of 18 consecutive losses by the Patriots in Miami and earning the Patriots their first trip to the Super Bowl in franchise history. Dan should have had two or three rings but the defense never could stop anyone.
What a great memory. One of my friends at the time was a huge Bear's fan and he gave me crap all week leading up to the game. Dan absolutley destroyed that famed Bear's 34 defense.
I was on my couch in NJ watching it. I remember MOST of that game even though I smoked a big one before it started. I liked the times when they kept panning over to the 72' team on the sidelines. The look in theirs eyes told me they wanted to play in that game too! Roman, your old bro.Hehe Oh and,Mcmahon was hurt but came in to try and fire the team up in the second half if I recall.
That loss was to me the most dissapointing loss in dolphins history. It never occured to me even once that the tony eason led pats could beat us down there. I was planning on getting tickets to watch marino shred the 46 defence again and become a world champion.I was to stunned to cry.
I was sitting at home watching that game, except when I was jumping up hollerin when we made ANOTHER great play. They gave us NO CHANCE to win but everything went our way that night. The deflected pass that Clayton caught behind the D was my favorite play from my favorite all time player. I sure wish I had a copy of that game.
Junior at Tonawanda High school (Buffalo suburb). I remember being in the weight room and my football coach laughing at me when I was doing neck presses. He bet me $20 that Chicago would "Eat them alive". If I lost I had to do 20 laps around the track. The look on his face when he reached in his wallet and gave me the $20 was worth a million. I took his money because he was soooooo cocky before the game.(great coach) Marino is the freaking Man!!!!!!!!
