Did you See ryan last Week, he's much better than Henne...... he takes charge back there. God i wish Henne could do that
Ronnie and Ricky on the sideline. Cobbs running the football. Throwing every down..... Come on now. More play action... You manage your 3rd string QB. Winnable game... Bears were kicking field goals
What with Henning as coach, he has trouble managing to remember to wear his Depends, let alone manage our offense and QB cam screwed us if we had gotten Brees we might be champs by now
You're a rookie here, and you're talking like one. Sanchez has a mostly VETERAN team around him to take the pressure off him; Henne does NOT. Sanchez has a surrounding cast (including defense and special teams) that allows him to develop w/o having to constantly put the game on his shoulders. Henne does not. Did you see Sanchez get shut out by GB in NY? Yeah, Henne beat that Packer team in Lambeau. Chad has far from a 10 cent head. You have a nickel head for thinking that.
What I am saying, not suggesting, the charge is laid, Marshall screwed his own teammates, for the second week in a row, he escalated his own bad behavior, last week it was throw out of bounds, this week it was a 15 yd flag. All based on her own poor decisions. That is unacceptable, I'd take 3 Marlon Moore's, guys who want it, over one ***** who doesn't care whom she screws.
Being Objective Killahp, for example VooDoo knocks the ball away on a corner route in the endzone, a sharper play would have been to come up with the Int. THAT is the difference between good and great Defence.
We beat green bay with our special teams and our defence, wake had what 3 or four sacks and Carpenter was amazing that game Henne had 12 tds last year and 14 ints and we go out and get him the big dog and its 9 tds and 11 ints this year so his decision making hasnt improved, sanchez was 12 tds and 20 ints last year and is 12 and 6 now in half the games. our team isnt built to make up for Hennes mistakes. and did you see him when sanchez was hurt? he play with balls man. his freakin int actually helped them ********ers win even a rookie knows Turnovers kill ya
winnable game lol? and we are going to do this by attacking the second best defense against the run with our weakness on offense. yeah thats winnable. if we did that we would have lost 35-0
Bro you will think foolishly when you watch film back.. VD made a great play and coulda come down with the ball when he tip it back to himself but he reached high. I'm trying to find a positive...It was a nice play.
You're asking a hell of a lot for VD to come up with that interception. He did a fantastic job just getting his hand on that ball. That was a great play.
VD is a shutdown corner so I dont mind him not intercepting passes, Hes every bit as good as that buffoon in NY
Sanchez also has an offensive coordinator that will work with him, that tries to make Sanchez better. We have a guy that should be calling plays for Al Davis since they are stuck in the same era of football together.
That is the difference between "good' and "great" RR, seriously that is what the D is lacking, we have 95% good players, one great player in Wake, that is why we will finish with a respectable D, but not a great one.
I wouldn't say that, players develop. Certain positions also aren't really prime time material for takeaways so you can't look at them. They're good, with Jones playing well they're young all over and they can improve even more so. You have to be pretty excited about the defense and that'll take you places in the future. For all the problems on offense, the pieces are there to have something good there once we get a real offensive coordinator that just says to Henne, throw the F'in ball like you know your defense will keep you in it.
see but thats the thing we have a great running game at times, we just stop using it, Henne shouldnt have to throw all the time. He has a great arm, he should pick his spots
We don't have a great running game anymore though. The RBs have declined and the power run blockers are gone from the LG and C positions. They need to pretty much re-do the entire line yet again. Whoever comes in will probably keep Jerry though at RG, perhaps Carey will stay, maybe not.
NO MORE EXCUSES! As bad as Henning was, that game was lost by Thigpen! He is the Sparano version of Cleo Lemon, Ray Lucas, you name it... Mike Martz showed what a good offensive game plan can do. If Henne comes back @ Oakland, we still have a shot. Sparano shouldn't go anywhere, he is a helluva coach...
I think it's extremely unfair to blame Thigpen for the loss. Sure, he made some bad throws, throws into the dirt, high throws etc etc, but overall he was just trying to make plays without anyone else helping him out. How many dropped passes on great throws were there? How many drive ending penalties? Did Henning try and help him out by attempting to run the ball? Where was the WC? It actually worked well last week. Anyhow, I am extremely happy with the defense. I think, even with Thigpen, if not for the rash of game time injuries, we would have won the game because of our defense's play. ST's still need a lot of work. I don't know if Ricky and Ronnie have already shut it down or if Henning just isn't using them correctly. Regardless, Henning sucks. The rest of our coaches, Nolan and Sparano in particular, are great coaches. I don't want them to go anywhere.
Here are my unbiased thoughts (for those that care): 1. After some reflection, I agree with Marine and anyone else that says you can't truly evaluate Thigpen based on last night's game. He had a short week to prepare, he's the 3rd string QB and has practiced as such all year, your OLine was decimated with injuries, your best receiver went out in the first half, and the offensive game plan was questionable. That being said, I think the guy is no better than a backup QB no matter what. 2. Your defense played great. I know the Bears moved the ball and converted a bunch of 3rd downs, but the bottom line is that they gave up 16 points. 16 POINTS! That is good enough to win on almost any Sunday. Outside of a handful of runs, you shut down the Bears rushing attack. Cutler didn't hit any big plays. I believe they had under 300 yards of offense. That's an excellent job, especially when you consider they were on the field the majority of the game. I was impressed. That was a solid effort. When your offense doesn't score a single point, there is really not much the defense can do. it was 6-0 at the half and 9-0 into the 3rd. Wake is a great pass rusher - reminds me of Jon Abraham when he played for the Jets. 3. Name the teams that can start their THIRD STRING QB and beat a upper half of the league team? I can't think of any. If the Jets played the Bears last night with Kellen Clemens at QB, with 4 days of practice, they get shut out too. I think fan's expectations were a little high coming into the game. But hey - I get it. That's what makes us fans. 4. Play calling was a bit bizzare. My guess is that they figured Chicago would be expecting a conservative approach and they tried to catch them off guard with an ariel attack. But at some point you have to ADAPT. By the mid 3rd quarter, I was cringing every time Thigpen dropped back to pass. Henning is a lot like Shottenheimer in that regard. Very stubborn and doesn't coach to his player's strengths. Square peg, round hole kind of crap. Henning needs to go. Today's game has passed him by. Just my opinion. And again - what is with play action on downs/distance that no one would run out of? Better yet? What defense respects play actions when the other team has rushed for 12 yards all game? Crazy. 5. Special Teams were excellent on Hester. Huge improvement from earlier in the year. 6. Pray Henne comes back soon and get off his sack. Let him finish out the year, good or bad and see how he progresses. This is not a SB team. Too many injuries and too many holes at this point. And before I get lynched, I don't think the Jets are a SB team either. All I am looking for is progress from Sanchez. I know they are a "win now" team, but their pass defense is way to soft to win a SB. Remember - you are never as good as you look when you blow another team out and you are never as bad as you look when you lay an egg. Keep the faith, Dolfans. Peace.
The actual stats on paper may show 13 rushes, but in reality, we only had 7 rushes. The other 6 came from Thigpen having to scramble after a PASSING PLAY was called.
You do make some good points Bickety. My BIGGEST issue with last night's game was the play calling. Only seven called running plays. That's not going to cut it when you have a third string quarterback starting. He needs as much heat directed away from him as he can get.
And remember. When the pre-season started it was a battle between Thigpen and Pat White for the last QB roster spot. Pat White for flips sake!!!!! I still feel bad for Thigpen having that playcalling to work with.
I read in another post that Miami was trying to use the short pass as a substitute for the run. That might make a little sense. The Bears are tough to run on. I'm sure they were expecting run with a 3rd string QB at the helm. So Miami comes out with a passing attack as a counter. Obviously it didn't work. You guys were in a tough spot no matter what. I'm not that high on the Bears (I think Cutler is one of the dumbest QB's I have ever seen), but they can play defense and you guys came in with some missing bullets.
Number 1...Sanchez can make all the throws... Number 2..Last time I checked Sanchez makes plays when it counts...and actually wins games....see last years playoffs and last few weeks..... Number 3...And I'm not sure..but did you say Vontae Davis is as good as Revis? Take it easy..I like Davis...but not yet....
