The Dolphins were winning when Henne went out? I mean the way people are on Thigpen's jock I thought he brought the team back to win.
That's great but the way these posts I'm reading I thought he brought them back. He had limited play and played well and I sure hope it continues.
Henne played a solid game. When he went down Thigpen came in, played well and ran a solid 85 yard drive to ice the game. He also hit Fasano on a nice TD pass. He looked good and as always the most popular guy on the roster is the back-up QB when things aren't going well.
Getting in the endzone, he showed a trait that helps keep Henne out in the redzone. And that's going through his progressions, Henne locks onto his guy down there, and if he isn't there he either throws it up or throws it away... That and his inability to anticipate. In such a small area you have to anticipate the throw...and he never does that
That's been one of the things I've really noticed with Henne, he just seems late delivering the football, like he can't get through his progressions fast enough.
Henne can't anticipate openings. Guys have to be open for him to throw it. If he doesn't improve that aspect. He will never turn into the QB we need. That's my biggest gripe with him, the main reason I said Mark Sanchez was better and will be better.
What do you mean Henne can't anticipate throws? The offense is mostly timing routes. Isn't that ALL anticipation?
If by timing you mean throw the ball the times the receivers are open, then yea. Go back and watch Henne throw, as compared to good QBs. Good QBs will throw into windows and throw to spots, where the receivers that aren't open currently, but are going to be open. Henne struggles with this more then anything else IMO, and the biggest reason why people say he stares down receivers, doesn't go through progressions quick enough...truth is, he's staring down the receivers to wait till they get open before he throws it, rather then anticipating the receiver being open or not...he doesn't do it.
Nappy maybe he has inconsistency with it but to say he can't do it is just wrong. How many times do our receivers run out routes and hitches where Henne throws the ball before the receiver breaks? I'd say it happens every week. You're telling me Henne isn't anticipating here?
Even his out routes are late. That's what I'm saying. Also by me saying he doesn't do it, I mean it the same way one would say Henne is inaccurate.
