Well, point out a young Qb, one who you feel is far above Chad Henne, and I'll point to their running game, off hand I cannot think of a single one whose team does not run the football well, for example when Mike Turner was injured and ineffective in Atlanta last season, how did Matt Ryan fare?

I agree with you about the running game, but it's the offensive line that matters even more so. Check out the utter crap Jason Campbell has blocking for him.
    LT- Vendeer
    LG- Gallery
    C- Satele
    RG- Carlisle
    RT- Walker
That's below average at best, outside of the AFC West. On the other hand he's doing pretty well.

    Seneca Wallace
Has John St. Clair as his RT and Robiskie as his 2 WR. The Raiders, Browns, and Jaguars QBs are outperforming Henne with far crappier teams. FAR crappier. It's not just the running game. Henne is at fault.

There are other options available that could push Henne.

Notice, 4th and 10 and Feeley threw that ball up as he was being sacked?

Henne has lead us to wins over playoffs teams in 09, he is far better than AJ Feeley.

Well that sucks, I cut and pasted the youtube link and it did not show up.

    Brownies Oline:

    Thomas
    Steinbach
    Mack

Alex Mack is easily the best young Center in the Game and Thomas is rivaling Big Jake for perinniel All Pro LT honors.

I think we have better RB's then these teams and their QB's are better then Henne.

    Rogers in GB
    Freeman in TB
    Kolb in PHI
    Orten in DEN

I'm not much of a Cleveland fan Bro, at least not enough of one to bother learning who plays on the right side of their Oline, I'd guess PorkChop Womack is the Guard?

    :D

Notice they also added Ben Watson and he is having a surprisingly good season, even with Colt McCoy throwing him the ball for TD's...

Watson would have been a nice addition really nice as the next David Martin.
WOW HOW BAD DOES THAT 2004 OL suck....
Worst part is that the 2003 Dolphins that didn't make the playoffs with this OL we have today would probably have been 13-3.

For playing some tough competition they deserve some praise (hopefully they don't get destroyed by Tennessee's pass rush).

Rogers and Orten are in their 6th season or so, Kolb isn't starting, and Freeman has Cadillac Williams and Co along with Winslow.

    Look at:

    Sanchez
    Ryan
    Bradford

Put it this way. Who are the 5 worst offenses outside of their QB in the NFL?
The five worst OL, RB, and TE groupings.

Find an available, good QB amongst them that could be your guy. It might be short-sighted, show very little analysis, and be prone to error but I think it could produce something in a quarterback search.

Yep, THAT was the AJ Feeley that I recall, he was a walking, pick six machine, no way is Henne even in the same zip code.

Dude was also walking off the field like he was 75 yrs old!

Our thinking is very close on Henne the difference I have is that I just can't bring myself to place all the blame on the Coaching staff, Henne has to bring something to the table also. Little things Henne says, and has said all along make me wonder about his maturity and Commitment.

Interesting. I did not realize Kurt Warner carried the Cardinals. All this time I thought he has two of the best wide receivers in the NFL and a third receiver that would be a top two guy on at least 25 other NFL teams.

Salisbury is a terrible analyst and a moron. There is not an analyst I respect less than him, not even Joe Theisman. At least Joe knows what it takes to play high level QB.

Jaws thought John Beck was the best Qb coming out in 07, Theisman pretty much just offers color commentary.

That leaves Trent Dilfer and he goes wherever the wind blows, there is no commentator whom I think less of, though Dilfer is a fine person.

No one milked being a mediocre Qb more than Trent Dilfer.

But either way, Salisbury is correct, which is why Henne is riding the bench.

Yeah, Jaws blew the call on Beck bigtime, but he is still a 10-fold better analyst than Salisbury

Dilfer was mediocre, which still puts him a level above Salisbury with respect to talent

Theisman is an idiot. at least he tries to come up with original stuff. Salisbury just repackages other people's opinions (usually wrong ones) as his own.

Having said that, I've come to terms that Henne, right now, is no better than a mediocre QB. I still believe with a better, more aggressive offensive scheme and a bonafide TE threat that Henne can be successful. Just not sure we will ever get that with Sparano coaching. I'm sick and tired of rooting for offenses that play not to lose.

The optimistic fool in me hopes that with the improved offensive line, better WRs that Pennington can move this offense much better than 08. We'll know soon. 3 out of 4 games at home and winnable.

Well I also think simply because a player was great that does not mean they make good player evaluatiors, because Salisbury didn't win a SB does not make him a professional boob, for example Emmitt Smith was a great player..but not so good at being a analyst.

Agree with you about Henne, I think we all will have to sit tight, as hard as that may seem, and just see how things play out.

Right now, he is a decent NFL Qb, who was headed for:

    62% completion percentage
    16 Td's
    3,400 yds or so
double digit interceptions as well though

I do think folks maybe are expecting too much of Pennington, the whole team has to play better football:

    -7 dropped interceptions
-12 missed tackles in Ravens game

    ST

    Blown assignment in kick coverage
Nolan Carroll is getting jacked up on returns, someone has to block better.

As long as we're still talking old QBs, I always found Sage Rosenfels to be underrated. He seemed to have the most chemistry with Chris Chambers. Especially downfield.
