I agree with Brown, enough with the trash talk during the week by some players and its time to man up on the field.

You know Moss has to be biting at the bit to get back at V. Davis after being shut out.

I would also like to see the staff give Brown the ball 20 times.

    Eh, well:

-Would suggest Mr Brown begin with himself

-hate these general call outs, he is talking to someone who supposedly knows who they are "get in the classroom" ie, "stop blowing assignments"

Ronnie Brown should have an excellent chance at stepping up himself this Sunday and Thursday.

Well he did last week and they stopped using him.

I think this is his way of saying give me the dam ball.

Nice of Ronnie to finally speak up at the halfway point. Maybe he should have done this wk 1.

As far as Moss, I think it was a fluke last time. The Pats had a offer to trade him, so why risk a injury to him. I think the Pats shut him down more then we did.

you can only use your "man up" card once per season... he is using it wisely IMO... if he used it week one, what would he use now? now if the coaches will realize he needs the ball more thank Ricky (two to one ratio), we might actually find an identity on offense.

If the team would have manned up from the start, maybe we would be better than 4-4, good enough for the 3rd place in our division.
Just saying, this team isn't going nowhere this year. We will not beat out the Pats or Jest this year.

Ive been telling him to man up all week, he has not up until this point..Play like the damn #2 pick you are.

i'll say it again, if Henning doesn't give this man 25 touches he's a double complete moron..

Time to abuse the skillset to find out what the man is made of..

    I believe in his talent..

NJ, he said this before it was released that Penny would be starting...

It shows to me that this team has been inconsistent in the motivational dept...

Hence the benching of Henne for Penny...Penny will not allow these primadonnas to slack...if they do, hes gonna get in your ***.

    Henne...take notes brother.

Stop dropping passes for third down conversions would be another good place for Ronnie B to start the beat your chest drum.

This is the only reason I can somewhat see the QB change. Penny "should" make other players better. Sad but true.

Beast is smart enough to talk in terms of team goals, Ronnie B is questioning manhood, which means he is holding himself up as a paradigm of manning up..

Ronnie has hardly opened his mouth since he has been in Miami. Now, the mouse wants to roar. Where was he when a very young QB could have maybe used some of his leadership? Why does it take half of the season or, many seasons for him to speak up?

I don't have a problem with this. They do need to man up and have some swagger. We have been wondering if the team is being coached scared or if it's the players. If they have swagger and expect to win, if they work hard and actually believe in themselves they won't be dropping ten interceptions a game and things like that. There's nothing in that statement that suggests Ronnie isn't holding himself accountable as well.

Because the energy that Chad Pennington brings onto the field is contagious. That's why you're seeing this now.

Then why did Ronnie say absolutely nothing in 2008 or, when Penny was 0-3 starting last season? Not buying it.

They had different problems in 2008. Lack of talent was their biggest issue then. Plus they won the division, was he supposed to complain about that? This is halfway through the season, not just three games. I don't see how 2009 is comparable. Ronnie is speaking out on a trend that has lasted half of the season, not a couple of games. If you remember Penny didn't even make it through the third game last year. Ronnie is never going to be the first guy to speak out anyway, that's the way he is.

You should buy it because it's true. Leadership is so critical in any team sport. Energy is contagious, look at the way Baltimore's defense has always fed off of Ray Lewis' energy.

this team has been walking on eggshells it seems for half a damn season..

Time to pump up the eminemington to get them out of this funk.

Being a great leader sounds like an intangible aspect of the game, but in reality, it has tangible impact on individual players cardiac output.

Call it energy, respect, leadership or whatever. The "it" seems to be something that Henne is lacking. I don't think that CP is the long term solution but looking at how the games are called he is a better fit. Maybe that gives him the "it".

Js, I disagree with your opinion on both men,Sparano and Henne...Henne is close to being a third round pick, this is not a top 10 franchise draft pick, who's to say he doesn't have things to learn in the leadership dept...he's obviously struggling to lead his unit, and from all sign's that I have studied, he needs to learn a lesson of what it takes to emotionally lead a football team...I believe Sparano has made the right move.

i will give Ronnie credit ... in the 1st half last week, he did man up, ran hard and even tried to break tackles -- 1st time i've seen him run like that all year ....

That will never happen as long as he is a Dolphin. I mean he averaged 6.6 yards per carry against a defense who allows 2.7 ypc. Yet we only gave him the ball 9 times. Then there is the Ricky factor, this regime won't ever have a 1200-1500 running back unless one goes down week 1.

That's going to be very difficult to do, given the PT he gets.

As for what RB said, I don't have a problem with it. I think he's including himself whether he said so or not. He's challenging the team as a whole, and I think his timing is pretty doggone good. At 4-4, and going into the second half of the season, every game is critical. If they play the second half of the season the same way they played the first half, they'll be watching the playoffs at home. It is time to man up.

    Go Phins! :marble:

i think we are using him sparingly for a reason.i don't see brown here at all next year.they are showing people he still has it and is healthy yet doing everything they can to keep him healthy enough to get through a full season so we can get the most out of him in trade.if that meens only giving him the ball 6-10 times a game then so be it but we definately need a mixture of speed/skill in the backfield but neither ronnie nor ricky have it.

Sorry but advertising a player for a whole year who at best nets us a 3rd rounder while we're trying to win some games is just out there.. plus I'm pretty sure he either re-signs with us or walks. No trade.
