Where did I say you were trying to be more like a girl? The whole thing is just girlie in my opinion. I have rock band and sing sometimes too. I was just being a smart *** there. The general comment was that if that was the best game for Kinect, god help them.
Tell u this...if they have a half way decent star wars lightsaber game, and u can use a toy lightsaber as a prop...theres gonna be a ton of giddy guys who always wanted to channel their inner Jedi...
What? Does it suck or is it a matter of opinion? I played the game and if it wasn't for the fact that I would have to spend nearly $500 to play it, (I am not going to get a crappy 4 GB hard drive xbox), I would totally buy this game. I would put it as one of the top lauch titles.
It's my opinion that it sucks. I am not alone on this opinion, but obviously quite a few people have a difference in opinion. What's so hard to get about that? To each their own you know?
Your use of the English language is what made it hard. You said, "If something sucks, then it sucks." That is a statement of fact, not a matter of opinion. I also differ of the opinion of "If I do not like something, that means it sucks." There are plenty of things out there that I do not like that I know are quality.
What the hell are you talking about? I said it sucks, and it's a matter of opinion. Maybe it doesn't suck for you or other people but to me, it blows. It looks completely boring to me, it's a video game and I'm allowed to make my own reviews on games I see whether it's a commercial or I've actually played it. Every single statement said IMO or in my opinion or something to that matter. How can you say I'm stating facts? Are you sure my English is the problem? You're allowed to say something sucks whether the developers did a good job with it or not. Ever heard of Spore? Some people dug it, and some people hated it and said it sucked. Don't get so twisted up about it and stop saying I'm stating facts because you're completely baseless in that argument. Get over it. You can have your opinions and you can have mine. If that dance game is the best thing going for Kinect, meh launch IMO.
You said, "If the game sucks, the game sucks." How is that opinion? That is like using, "No offense," when you mean to offend someone, and then hiding by "No offense." You are allowed to say anything. Just like I am allowed to say anything that you say is wrong, even if you mean it to be only your opinion. I am allowed to have my opinion on your sucky opinion.
I said "if the games suck, the games suck though. it's all a matter of opinion." You keep conveniently forgetting those last 5 words. If the games suck, they suck. It's all of a matter of opinion if it sucks to you or not. Sorry if you cannot understand that, or more realistically I've called you on it and just dont want to admit it. What's hilarious is that you just called my opinion sucky, but you've been going off on how you don't like that line of thinking. I can have my "sucky" opinion, and you can have your "girlie" opinion. I'm not going to get my panties twisted like you when someone doesn't like my opinion.
The last five words do not make sense when you state the beginning of your statement. It isn't forgetting the last 5 words, it is just they do not matter because they do not fit. It is basic english and you did a poor job of getting your point across. Plus your first comment before that was on how well the Kinect will do and not on your opinion of whether or not the Dancing game is any good. If the Dancing game sells well, then Kinect launch is not in trouble. That is a statement of opinion based on an actual fact. You should look into learning how to discuss your opinion in a way that actually makes sense. It will help you in life.
My first comment was to the reviews of the other games besides the dancing game. If the dancing game was the best game available, then that is horrible IMO. I never even mentioned sales! This is a launch thread, I have no clue whether future kinect games will be any good. These ones suck. It's all a matter of opinion though. Like gourmet foods, everyone has their different taste. If someone doesn't like something but it still sells to another group of people and sells well that's fine. That person is still able to say it sucks and not have to COMPLETELY explain how everything they said was stated as opinion, not fact in every post. If I even had one post in this thread that didn't state that (even before our "conversation") then maybe you'd have more of a point. Your reading comprehension is below average, and I'm sorry you didn't understand what I typed the first time. Maybe if you wouldn't let your emotions guide your arguments so much you could read a post thoroughly before responding.
simmer down fellas I also think the Kinect launch is weak so far. If move has Tiger Woods and some Socom thing (not that I'm a fan of Socom at all - But it's a name) for the Move then you've got to come stronger than Kinectimals and the dance game imo
The person wouldn't be dumb enough to say, "If it sucks, then it sucks." Unless they want a lesson on what exactly an opinion is.
No anger here Mor. Just trying to help a guy learn English. That depends on your target demographic. It is obvious that the Kinect is targetted to the casual crowd. There is nothing for "hard core" gamers with the launch. If you are lauching for a casual crowd then Kinectimals and a Dance Game are perfect for launch. Too bad they couldn't do one of those stupid hidden item games and some sort of kinect bejeweled. Could sell millions.
If they said it's all a matter of opinion afterwards that means that's an opinion and another person's couple be different. It still sucks (to them) and it's completely different. Learn how to read and comprehend. Just because I didn't lay it out on the table so someone like you could understand it doesn't mean my English is poor.
Exactly. Everything as far as the launch for Kinect looks boring or stupid to me. Dude couldn't handle my opinion and created some stupid argument about how I presented my opinion as if they were concrete facts.
Then they would say, "It still sucks to me." One shouldn't have to say "It's a matter of opinion." If you have to say that then you are being unclear. Especially when using the reflective property.
It reminds me of Ted Ginn. Some people really like Ted Ginn still. I'd say Ted Ginn sucks and that would be my opinion. Should I have to prove that my statement was a fact or my opinion? People say it all the time even without putting expressing that it's just their opinion. It's ridiculous that I'm having to write paragraph after paragraph explaining why you're being completely asinine. This is probably the best comparison as the Kinect launch and games rival Ted Ginn's receiver abilities.
Who the hell cares? I'm on a message board and typed it during work. It still got the exact same point across I'm sorry that I didn't word it exactly how you wanted? Is that better?
If you are on a message board that exists for people to explain their opinions based on facts, then yes. Of course. Duh.
I'm reviewing a video game I saw on a commercial (as I've stated previously) not explaining why Bess needs more time outside the hashes. I've explained plenty at this point why my opinions are my opinions. If that's the only point you have then welcome to yesterday. As far as Ted Ginn sucking and saying I need facts on why he sucks. This is your argument???
But if I say Ted Ginn sucks (with or without anything else said behind it), I should be allowed to. If someone asks me why he sucks I'd have plenty of stats to throw out. That said, I should be able to say "Ted Ginn sucks" without somebody questioning my ability to use the English language or saying that I'm presenting facts.
If you want to use player analogies, it is like you said, "Peyton Manning sucks." Then went on to say, "If Peyton Manning sucks, then peyton Manning sucks. Just my opinion." People are not going to look at your opinion. They are going to look at the fact you said Peyton Manning sucks. Then try to get over it by saying it is just an opinion, even though you did say, "if he sucks then he sucks," which is not a statement of opinion.
If I were to pick a player for the Kinect Launch I would pick Jake Delhomme. Mostly sucky years, however there are a few gems. And even the gems people could make an argument that those years were not that good.
No I said it looks like it's made for girls. In my opinion. Then I said if it sucks, it sucks, it's a matter of opinion. You are not presenting facts in an argument about facts! Nobody is going to say Peyton Manning sucks because he might be the best QB of all time. Top 5 at least right? If Dance Dance Revolution Kinect Shikira Superstar ends up being a top 5 game of all time then my opinion, just like someone who thinks Peyton Manning sucks is trash. I highly doubt that, and unless that happens your argument isn't very good. Regarding Manning anyways. Ted Ginn is a closer representation even if it isn't a good one itself. To me though, Kinect is the Ted Ginn of video games. Girly and not useful.
I understand completely where you're coming from. And I have some (male) friends who'd give me crap about calling it girly too. Still think it's kinda girly though. My girlfriend will probably get it when the price goes down haha.
The game is pretty girly if you mean feminine. Dancing isn't exactly a manly activity. I actually agree with you that it is kind of girly. I do disagree with saying it sucks, even if it is an opinion because it is a quality game. Well in my 5 minutes of playing it. I was really impressed by how well it tracked my movements. The camera does get confused if there is too much movement in the background. If I were to bet the hit of the Kinect I would choose this game. It is hard for me to imagine a better type of game for the Kinect. I do not see how a fighting game could be too much fun or a shooter. Having nothing but a camera seems so limiting.
Nope, I'm in NJ right now. The Kinect is sitting in a box, that's in a shipping box, at my house in Louisiana. I do have Dance Central here, but it'd do me no good to try and play it (nor would I have a camera to take pictures).
I was at a futureshop for all of 5 minutes and watched 4 Kinects go out the door. It's a different market this is aiming for and so far it seems to be working. The market right now is going to be families, young girls and relatives of young girls. I showed my co-worker a Kinectimals video on Thursday night. I walk in Friday night and she dropped nearly $400 on the system + Kinectimals for her FOUR AND A HALF YEAR OLD granddaughter (I'm sure the parents will get some use out of it though ;p ). There is a market out there...it's just not most of us ;p
Reviews are coming in for the Kinect. So far Dance Central and Kinectimals are getting decent to good reviews. It is looking more and more that MTV has a potential hit on their hands with Dance Central.
