I know this sounds silly, but do you think Sam Bradford could be similar or just like Pennington but stronger? I have been watching him play for a while now and he looks just as smart as Pennington and as accurate. What do you think?

Well, being a Mizzou fan, and having watched Bradford play and whip said Tigers repeatedly, and seeing Bradford up close and personal since he's joined the Rams as a pro, I have to say this:

    1) Coming out of college, I'm not sure there are any comparisons as far as being "NFL Ready" other than Peyton Manning. He was THAT accurate, smart, poised and savvy from my vantage point. If his shoulder injury never occurs, he would have been the No.1 pick his Junior year, and probably could have even made top 5 his sophomore year. Easily the best pocket passer that's come out since Manning, IMHO.

    2) Seing him at the Pro level hasn't given me any reason to doubt opinion No. 1 above. Watching him play, he reminds me of alot of different QBs in good ways. He reminds me of Montana's "coolness", Brady's pocket presence, and Manning's accuracy. He's not a gunslinger by any stretch, but he's no game manager either. He's going to carve up a defense methodically and he's going to win a bunch of games. To top it off, he's got the "it" factor you hear of in terms of mental toughness and confidence. This guy is good at everything he does as an athlete and just doesn't know the meaning of failure. To this point, I'd say he's looking everybit as good as Ryan in his first year, but with MUCH less talent in the way of WRs.

So no, he doesn't remind me of Pennington. He's going to be much much more special.

Guy is going to be a HOFer if he doesn't screw anything up. Deadly accurate.

Thanks, I appreciate your comments. Good post there. If Bradford was a little of Montana, Brady and Manning, he would be in the Hall of Fame when he retires.

I think Bradford has a way way higher ceiling than Penny did and does, but they both are extremely accurate passers. Rams picked the right guy. Now they need to avoid being Detroit and put together a line that can protect the guy. I feel bad for Stafford, I think he can be a really good QB if they can keep him upright and off the bench.

Looks like the Rams are heading in the right direction.

He reminds me of a weaker armed Manning.
