Similar to how I feel when trying to figure out if Henne has any future here but our running game isn't even good enough for the Jills to fear. Instead of 8 in the box there is eight in the zone. Probably helps keeps Henne clean though.

I agree completely. Outside of the worst throw of his season, I thought he continued to make positive strides and played at a high level. At least his bad throw was an attempt to be assertive.

We finally got to see him throw more balls downfield, and IMO he showed some nice touch on them (the first Marshall pass was a thing of beauty!). He's progressively getting better at placing the ball to where our receivers can keep their feet moving. I dont know how you feel, but I don't think he tosses many passes into locations where defenders have a chance to get to get their mitts on em..... which, to me, is saying a lot considering how many short routes and comebacks etc we run.

Two weeks in a row his head is popping all over the field trying to scan and find the open man. That's also an improvement. Kudos to the line for giving him the time to do that.

Atleast on the second one CC didn't let TO catch it in the endzone. Not to start sometime new here, but if TO stops moving backwards, CC would have ran right into him and gotten a PI foul. Could you have seen that? Again, not trying to start a new argument, but that was going thru my mind when I first saw that.

I agree with CK. I'm not out for cutting Fasano. He would be more beneficial to us as a #2 (and a quality one at that) but we need a #1 to put him there.

I almost said exactly that I just didn't want to pee in anyone's cereal after a win. Absolutely correct if Owens was playing the ball better that's pass interference. Good to remember that the reason Clemons needed to recklessly use that 4.33 speed is because he made a mistake on the play.

WE have bad pieces at the Te position right now, no real standouts at any one phase of the game, 1 #2 Te and 2 rookies, imho they need to do better than that just for Henne's sake.

Those key plays are where we miss Greg C's fly paper hands, the guys who fillin just don't have the same skill.

And that also comes with his trust with the OL to give him time to look left to right or whichever way he wants.

Yes we can agree on a great many things except for the Steratore crew's Clintonian dissection of word definitions (definition of the word "is") and the crew's apparent lack of interest in calling the plays the way they actually happened.

I was praying a flag wouldn't fly too. I've said it since he was drafted-- Clemons can be a liability when the play is behind him, and he plays the ball as if it's a hot potato.

I just don't feel he has the instincts for it (playing the pass), and especially not a ballhawk. It's the reason why he can spend 4 years at FS at Clemson and all offseason in Miami but still look awkward playing the pass, where as a guy like Jairus Byrd can transition to FS in his rookie season and pick off 9 balls. I want someone back there with tremendous instincts and hands who can alter games rather than falling inches short of altering them.

I see him going through his progressions very well. Time afforded is a plus but Henne is using the time wisely. With that said never use Polite as an outlet please.

Amen to that!!! Giving Chad the pieces to develop into a premium franchise QB should continue to be their priority this offseason. Hopefully Marshall was just a start.

Well, do keep in mind that aside from the Steelers, we have not faced a team as good at rushing the passer since the Jets game, the Bengals had 6 sacks coming into that game, the Pack were banged up as well.

This Ravens game is a mirror for the Dolphins, should be fun, and thankfully we are healthy as we are going to be this year.

Drew Rosenhaus saying he suspects that Tony Sparano holding a play sheet in hand and holding it over the mic on his headset is actually him calling plays.

I believe Sparano answered a question about this a month ago and said it was really him giving Dan Henning his thoughts on the general direction of the offense.

TBH deej, I thought it was Beast, even the Ref's thought it was Beast.

Lil Beast could not have screwed up that play any worse, I suppose he could have comitted offensive pass interference...

I'll agree that it's an upgrade over Wilson...... but hopefully a bandaid until we draft someone better. I give him less benefit of the doubt b/c I've watched him play over 40 games in the past 5 or 6 years.

He's a quality backup and a great special teamer...... and this is what we should want his role to eventually be on this team if we desire to play at the highest level with quality depth across the board.

I don't disagree and we may need an upgrade. However somewhat in his defense, typically when a 2nd year 5th round pick has to start at FS he has all veteran db's who have his back. Whereas we have J Allen and Benny Sapp falling on their face, until hopefully tonight that is.

The Henne using two hands on play action thing is bull****. I just watched a bunch of highlights, and while he does do it sometimes, he uses one hand more often.

I'll agree that Sapp and Allen falling on their faces doesn't help him.......However they can't be at fault for his hands. He looked like he was trying to catch a rabid porcupine out there, and that's basically how he's been for the past 5 years.

YBell was the same way, Will Allen was that way for years, this is his first yr as a starter, I'd give him a "B", granted the lack of turnovers is a problem, however rarely is he exposed either.

Nolan was running some wild coverage packages, 7 Db's, a couple of times, 8 Db's.

3 man rush, 8 back in coverage TO and Ocho Cinco are not exactly scrubinis, but outside of TO's first half TD's and OC pushing off of Voodoo, they were quite this game.

The only reason why we are talking about the fumble is because the ref called it a touchdown, and it cost the Fins the game.
What you are saying is, we amputated the wrong leg but did a hell of a job with the stitches, get lost.

I still feel he's an acceptable to good starter, but with how pivotal and impacting the FS position is, I just want to see an elite talent back there is all.

It has been nice not having 2-3 long TD's every game like last year. Have to Give Nolan props as well. As CK mentioned, it really is evident how quickly he adjusts and cleans things up quickly every game.

If some off our receivers and corners just used a solid fundamental body catch using their forearms and biceps to help cradle, we would be really good.

Yep, a shame with the way Berry and Thomas seem to be playing this year as well. And considering odrick's unfortunate injury. I guess the good thing is Misi has played fairly well.

Watch it again and tell me if you see the difference between when he does and when he doesn't.

By that I mean when he holds it with one, how far away from the Rb is he?

When he does it with two does he try and look like he is stuffing the ball in the Rb's gut?

I saw one instance today when he held it with one hand and the ball was no where near the Rb. It also was a terrible fake.

I'm not advocating what was said on the radio. I threw it out here because I am always scratching my head as to why the play action does not work very well with Henne. So when I herd this, I was like huh? Today I only looked at it closely three times and have no tape of the game.

He's definitely inconsistent with it. Some fakes IMO are at the very least decent, some are good, some are bad, sometimes he looks very anxious to get his head turned around and look for the open man so he rushes it.

I'm not too concerned about it though. He's young and it's something he will need to work on. People were saying his number one issue in the offseason was his touch passes and I think he's greatly improved in that area. I expect the same with play action.

People need to keep in mind that he's only started 20 games in the NFL. Yet, he's top 10 in completion percentage and since the Vikings game has moved our offense consistently week in and week out. You have to be happy with him.

I just don't understand how he doesn't excel in this dept, especially with who the frig is training him....

He should be a ninja play action faker and ball handler...

Never understood the discrepencies between QB's in the ball faking play action business, I mean if you have any desire to be great at it I dont see athleticism being the deciding factor in whether or not someone is good at it..

I still Like Henne out of the shotgun.
