Agreed. I'm not here to judge anybody, but I find it strange that some might give someone the skunk eye for snaking something from a brick and mortar store, but for some reason pirating video games is cool. The only difference is where the theft occurs.
Awesome I look forward to it. I really thing those two features should change the game. Also I guess survival mode is really hardcore mode.
On which platform? Nothing of the sort here. Just a lot of hitching due to pop-in. I’m waiting for AMD to release the Catalyst 10.10 drivers.
On the PC, I forgot to mention that. That is good to hear. Pop-in as due to your video card drivers since you mentioned Catalyst? I'm reading that some people are experiencing stuttering.
I don’t know if it’s the drivers or game. Because I have a 4850 X2, I’m assuming that the problem is a lack of a Crossfire profile for the game. There are some known bugs with the game itself, so I’m sure things like getting stuck in rocks will be fixed within a few days. Basically, I need a driver update to make the game as smooth and playable as Fallout 3.
I installed the game on my hard drive and played about an hour without issue. So far I think that there is quite a bit different. I just played FO3 very recently so I guess I notice all the small details. So far none of the voices sound familiar to me and every enemy Ive faced has been new.
I just had my first freeze replaying the parts I didn’t save through last night. Which means now I have to play the opening AGAIN.
I just hit 8 hours. I like the game a lot more than my original reaction, although my original fear seems to be true. I'm thoroughly enjoying the game, but the game brings nothing new to the table. The fact that i'm enjoying this game so much speaks more about how great of a game Fallout 3 was than anything else. i have had one moment where it froze one me (360) and there are some hiccups all over the place, but that's not really surprising consider the size of this game.
No. You can look down the barrel of the gun now, which im pretty sure you couldn't do in Fallout 3. But it doesn't really make you anymore accurate. This is still an RPG and no where near a FPS.
New Vegas definitely offers far more branching scenarios than Fallout 3 did. The reputation system is probably the reason for that. Also, you’d think people living 300 years in the future wouldn’t dress and talk like people from the 1800s. But hey.
Sorry if this has already been addressed, but is there a level cap in this game? Anybody know yet? If so, is it 20?
I can't believe you can't free wander once the game is complete (again!). I bet the first DLC sorts that out. I hate staggered releases. Not released over here until Friday.
Seriously? Thanks for the heads up. I’ll take the game at a slower pace knowing that. I’ve probably missed a bunch of quests anyway. Just arrived at Vegas.
If you liked Fallout 3, yes. If you liked Borderlands, yes. If you like the thought of Fallout 3 combined with Borderlands, hell yes.
All three versions look about the same. There’s the usual slight differences due to the different GPUs at work, but this isn’t another Final Fantasy XIII scenario where the PS3 version is demonstrably prettier than the 360 version. A lot of PC buyers are complaining that the textures are pretty low-res and blaming that on the consoles. I don’t buy it. Medal of Honor looks great on all platforms.
No, I haven’t. I might try it out on a replay. With sandbox games I tend to want to just complete the story first and do some (but not all) of the quests on the first play through.
I think I may start out on hardcore mode just to make the game play differently. Its supposed to make typically unused perks more important
I'm level 8 and I just shot off 3 ghouls full of rockets into outerspace....or something like that haha
Is that dinosaur the one from the wizard movie? Don't they go to something like that towards the end? Some weird reason it flashed in my head as I was walking into it.
The first patch is out, at least for the PC. On my Steam install, it broke autosaving. I have to start over. Again.
Loving this game so far. I'm playing hardcore so and it's weird and it's weird having to constantly monitor sleep, water and food. Had a couple feezing issues too.
I gave hardcore mode a try and gave up. The game world just isn’t designed to accommodate that mode. It’s a bolt-on. Maybe if time moved a little bit slower or the world wasn’t completely out of scale…
Desides, I dont get what you mean. Also, if I wanted to report a bug where would I do it. Because in Primm after freeing Deputy Beagle I found him in Vance and Viki`s hanging from the ceiling by his head. Fortunately I was still able to talk to him and advance the quest.
IMO if you're not playing hardcore mode you are missing out. I don't find it too hard but it still makes the game much more immersive. There are a lot of perks that can aid you as well.
