yeah, 2nd year in a row we play the toughest schedule. How does that happen when you are a 3rd place team the year before ?

Get a chance to heat up so the writer picks the Steelers to win.

The writer picked the Steelers to win because they're arguably the best team in the NFL.

Bad luck and our division is tough.

SoS only dictates 2 of our games each year. The remaining 14 are on a rotation basis and games within our division.

First day game at home this year. Maybe all the hoopla on prime time has had something to do with this young team losing 2 at home. Let's hope they play with a chip on their shoulders.

How do we have the toughest schedule? Why do we play minny, gb, balt and cincy all on road while jets play all of them at home? I will tell u why. The nfl offices want the jets in superbowl so the fanbase will buy out the remaining psl's. The schedule is just too obvious. We were 7-9 last year while jets eere 9-7, we should be playing our tough games at home and the jets should be on road. God I hope the jets choke the rest of the year.

I honestly almost don't want to see us beat them, because I know the Jets will start being talked about as the best team in football bar none because the Steelers collapsed to the hapless Dolphins.

    God I hate the media...

The lack of 1pm home games early of late is frusterating...

Ecspecially the Steelers who will likely wear the Black Jerseys, how great would it have been for that to happen in 95 degree weather?

Well then the Phins don't have a chance to heat up then, as his article states.

The Phins are 0-2 at home, I don't want them playing in Miami until 2045.

And oh, conspiracy theorist, this "schedule" has been in the works for years. As a matter of fact, the Dolphins have their opponents set all the way up to 2017.

Saw this in the game preview - Ricky Williams probably won't pass Csonka this season in rushing yards, but he only needs 89 yards from scrimmage to pass Csonka(7,425) for most by a Dolphins Running Back in total yards from scrimmage.

Hopefully he gets it against the Steelers.

This game is a huge opportunity for us. If the Steelers aren't the best team in the league, they're damn close. We need to come out fired up. It was deflating to watch our team lay an egg in the two big home games they've had so far this season, and now we get another chance to prove we belong and put together a big game for the hometown fans. I would expect our guys to have a chip on their shoulder now after the way the previous home games went on national TV. I have a feeling about this game. A feeling that we're going to have a big performance.

I always get a laugh out of people who talk "schedule conspiracy". Please do a little research on just how the schedules are formed.

The schedule is not really decided based off of the previous year. All teams are scheduled based on a rotation basis and whomever is in their division. Each team plays the 3 other teams in their division 2 times each (6 games). Each AFC division plays an NFC division each year. (4 Games)It gets rotated so, for example, the AFC East, will plays the NFC East once every 4 years. Also, each AFC division plays another AFC division each year (4 games) also rotated. The last two games are determined by where the team finished the year before. (2 games)
If the Dolphins, for example, finished second in the AFC East the previous season, and their division is matched up against the AFC North, they would also play against the second place finishers in the AFC South and AFC West.

So, in short only 2 games each season are based upon SoS from the previous season.

Also, it is worth noting that within the rotating schedule, the home/away alternates as well. For example, 4 years ago Green Bay and Minnesota came to Miami while we went to Detroit and Chicago. So this time when the schedule comes up, it alternates. It's ingenious really. It completely eliminates all schedule conspiracy theories. Or at least any credability behind them :knucks:

Well, the dirty little secret of TNF is..the hometeam has a huge advantage, as in iirc last yr they were 4-1, with the one home team who lost, Carolina, lost to the Dolphins.

And a TNF game also means the team then has 10 days until they play the next game, ie, another BYE week to get healthy and add players or subtract players.

10 days after, but only 3 days before. These Thursday night games late in the season are tough on the players. It's no wonder there's so many rumblings from the players about not wanting to go to 18 games.
