No he is not. I do not believe that for a second. Im sure he had a valid reason to miss practice and agent is doing what agents do best. He isn't going anywhere. Drama queen.

He's just mad that they took his money. The coaches probably told him to tone it down and he walked out mad after going on a verbal rampage.

I believe this as much as I believe 'Big Ben' when he said he contemplated retiring.

That sounds so ridiculous. "How to play football"? Seriously? How does someone not laugh at that?

Form tackling is a lost art. Harrison can lay the wood, but apparently grabbing the ball carrier and pulling them to the ground is beneath someone of his stature.

Form tackling is hard nowadays. Yes, its bad at the highest level, but it's also difficult to tackle some of these guys. At some point, you grab an arm or leg and you hold on for dear life.

Form tackling is hard because no one wants to do it. Exhibit A: James Harrison.

This isn’t wanting to tackle but whiffing. This is not wanting to tackle because apparently tackling isn’t real football, but knocking someone with your helmet is.

Again, I think Harrison should just shut up and go to the UFC if he wants to hit people.

You don't know that. Harrison may not but you don't know if others don't.

While it is far more likely than not that Harrison is just being overly emotional here, there have been a small number of players who have just walked away when certain frustrations grew. The key is what the player will be giving up. The money is the obvious thing, but if you're a player like Jake Scott the money may not matter. For some its the spotlight, but if you're a player like Barry Sanders you may not even want it. For others its more about the principal. That why a player like Jim Brown walked away when the owner gave him an ultimatum. It depends a great deal on the personality of the player and I don't know enough about Harrison to speculate on his personality.

Sorry, I don't think the league gives 2 s#!ts about you James, so your petty guilt trip attempt to become an exception to the rules won't work. It's not like you're some chick telling her boyfriend "Well, if this bj isn't good enough, then I can just stop doing it". LMAO.

Here's an idea ya douche: how about learning how to make a legal tackle, and then see how often you actually get fined from one.

I’m pretty sure we can count at least Channing Crowder and Dunta Robinson in with Harrison for now.

These guys should look at a good Rugby Union game and see how tackling is done correctly. And remember those guys do it without pads, and even no cups ! (Real Men play Rugby)

So reach your arm out and try to knock the ball loose while making the tackle. Pulling a Superman and flying into a guy is just a hit for the sake of a hit.

Well, he's already basically said that he likes to hurt people...... so if that pleasure is taken away from him then he might not have anything left to play for. Just sayin.

I don't know if he was going for his head. Looked like he was trying to lead with his shoulder to me and hit where Rodney Harrison talked about on FNA.

    See :33.

Harrison's an idiot. He should play without a helmet if he's not worried about guys getting hurt. It's gonna be sad in 30 years when all these guys are dead or don't what day it is because of all the concussions.

The NFL is mostly to blame though. They encouraged this for a long time, created the monster so to speak, and are now having trouble corralling it.

This is the NFL's steroid issue. The dirty secret they've swept under the rug. Now the lump under said rug is too big to ignore.

/all out of metaphors for the day

Maybe that's the part he would miss the most. From ex-players I've spoken to and heard speak, the most commonly missed things are the excitement on game day and the camaraderie of the team mates.

    It really isn't that complicated:

KEEP YOUR HEAD UP WHEN YOU MAKE A TACKLE.

nope...its not that difficult, basically, the head is off limits in terms of a strike...anything below the neck hit as hard as you want...head, off limits, stand your ground, and eventually the player's will adapt..

Personally, once I had $20 million put away, I can't see anymore money having that much value to me. Obviously it depends on the lifestyle you want and what's important to you, but you run into the of diminishing marginal utility at some point with everything, even money.

    Yep, very well put Raf!!!

I don't think his strategy is very smart unless his intentions are to truly retire, which I don't believe for a second.
He starts by saying he enjoys hurting peoplen and now this childish tirade after being fined. I understand he seperated HURT from INJURE, but unless he is also a doctor or God, he isn't going to know the difference until weighing the outcome of each collision. His wording is careless, and to be quite honest, could possibly be used against him if god forbid, he ever mortally injured or even ended a career.
