Didn't read the whole thread, but last time our staff wasn't put together through cronyism, we went 1-15.

I'm not trying to take sides here, but that bolded part has nothing to do with anything and frankly, is a silly comment.
We are all here for the same reason. Because we are passionate Miami Dolphins fans and passionate football friends.
This is where all come to get away from "real" life problems. That comment is silly and assinine.

Let's not generalize here. In some situations cronyism has obviously worked. In others, it clearly hasn't. I think right now we as Dolfans are looking at the latter. This thread was not intended to turn into a WAR between fans. We are all Dolfans. Can't you just respect everyone and their opinions? Isn't that why we are here? To express OUR opinions on the team and coaches? If someone posts an opinion that differs from the "norm" or the popular opinion, they get completely chewed up and disrespected. Is that right????? Someone recently mentioned how my original post was referring to how the team HELD ON to questionable coaches (ie Bonamego) longer than they should have because of the friend connection. That is exactly what I was talking about. I wasn't completely saying "Cronyism is an automatic failure in the NFL." Yes, we all know that Parcells knows 99% of the league and has connections everywhere. I was well aware of that. My post was specifically talking about how this team allowed an area of the team to suffer for longer than necessary because they didn't want to fire their friend. They kept giving him second chances. It "seemed" that the special teams were turning the corner, but can anyone HONESTLY say that they ever felt comfortable with our special teams since Sparano and his staff arrived? I sure as hell cannot. Anyone notice how they consistently gave up big returns in ST's the past 3 years? And at the same time didn't have any good returns? Ted Ginn doesn't count. He could have returned those with a blind monkey coaching him. Then we have this preseason with the two blocked punts. Why wasn't this corrected when they KNEW that it was a problem in the preseason?

Thank you. This person has no clue what type of problems I am dealing with in my life. Next time maybe he'll think before he types.

    I'm sooooo tired of this.

That fact that someone has an opinion does not mean it should automatically be respected.

Your premise isn't based in facts, therefore it is disrespected. Back it up with logic, facts, something. All your doing is trying to convince rational people that the Dolphins, the FO, Staff and the players suck, based on your, quite frankly, silly emotions.

It's not based on facts? Bonamego wasn't kept on longer than he should have? Sounds pretty close to a fact to me. When did I mention the players? Way to twist my words around. If you don't agree with my opinion, that's fine. Don't sit there and try and disrespect me though. There is a difference between disagreeing with someones opinion and disrespecting them. You don't agree with me. That's great! You can move along now.

    Facts?

Bonemago being held on to longer than he should have because of cronyism is a fact?????!?!?!?!?!

Last year his unit won us a game against a division foe, with a record breaking outing. That buys you time. This year, he lost us a game to a division foe with a record breaking outing and he was more or less fired on the spot (a scant 12 hours later). That doesn't in any way sound like cronyism.

You've no idea why Sparano let Bonemago hang on. All you have is speculation. Do I need to illustrate the difference between speculation and fact? Maybe it was cronyism, maybe it wasn't, what is fact, is that cronyism won us the division and at most lost us one game.

I can "*****" about whatever part of the team I feel necessary, thanks. Emotional hothead? I thought name calling wasn't allowed on this site. I'm allowed to be passionate about the team. If you don't agree with what I'm saying, you can do it without personally attacking me and going out of your way to be disrespectful. I have nothing else to say to you. Oh yeah, stop talking to me. Thanks.

The same way you can "*****" about this or that - which you can do obviously - also applies to him being to able to "*****" about your "*****ing". I'm not being funny, just saying that if you want that ability, then others have the same.

You can't actually prevent him from responding unless you choose to use the ignore button. Other than that he has the same ability and right to respond as you do. Do you know about the ignore button? Again, just sayin.

Make you a deal, I'll stop stomping your weak and baseless arguments if you realize what you're doing is ranting and look at the top of the list and see there's a new forum for that. That way you can pretend your emotions are facts and do it in the place designated for it and the rest of us can go one discussing the positives and negatives of this team in an intelligent, rational and factual manner.

    Boom, everyone's happy...win-win.

I would say Wannestedt was a better example of this. I truly believe that if someone were availible for OC better than Henning that fits our philosophy we would get them. Wanny would fire coaches didnt agree with his decisions(Westoff) and replaced them with coaches who were less talented than those they replaced but were hired soley because of a previous working relationship. Parcells never worked with Paulsqualoni or Nolan, nor has he worked with David Lee. They will hire good coaches even if their isnt a prior relationship there.

My argument makes sense. You think because you are "Club Level" that you are better than me or something. A lot of you do. You're all up there on your high horse, looking down on the little people like myself. Keep trying to act like your opinion is worth more than mine.

. Dadgumit I thought being Club Level only meant that I donated $$$ to help support the site it. I wasn't aware that it made my opinion more valid than anyone else's. If that's the case I'll donate again so I can get some more valid-ness. Heck, this time I want my high horse too. Wait, is it a horse that's in the sky, or is it a horse that under the influence of marijuana? I'll have to check the terms and conditions to see what's up.

I certainly don't think I'm "better" than anyone. I just think you're making emotional statements about complicated subjects when the reality is that you haven't a clue as to what you're talking about. Doesn't make your opinion any less "valid" than mine, but I have the right to share my opinion, same as you do. If you take offense, then oh well, maybe you oughta toughen up. This is a forum where opinions come a dime a dozen, if you don't like people disagreeing or analyzing your statements then don't make any.

This is absolute horse****. If you had even the remotest clue you'd realize how absolutely foolish this makes you look. Sorry, but its an asinine statement based on nothing more than conjecture. It's the same as me saying "all of those posters in the mains are idiots". That's wrong period, especially considering that everyone in club came from the mains to begin with.

You want to see what its like, ask for a free trial or contact a Mod and they may be able to help you out. Then you'd have information that you can use to make a statement like that rather than just putting that out there.

If you think that the only reason people disagree with you is because of some mythical delineation on a message board then you are sadly misinformed. Again, sorry, I'm not trying to be mean but surely you can't sit there and say that everyone disagrees with you based solely on that alone, if at all. I have to give you more credit than that unless you truly believe this and if so then so be it.

You know what the difference between the two levels is; respect and the forum is for football only really. Its for people who want to talk x's and o's schemes etc. Posters up there generally never have arguments like the ones that go on here. Rarely, if ever do you get the "anyone who accepts losing is a loser" nonsense. There's a hell of a lot more respect shown to other posters than is shown down here. Point blank. If you ever see the threads you'll see that.

The reason many of you guys may feel this way is because Club Posters carry that over to here. Generally (there are always exceptions) most will start to debate with you based on reason. We will tell you if we thinks its emotion based, which many of the threads down here have been lately. Sorry, but just because people believe passionately about their position it has little to do with making it remotely factual or valid. Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean it is respected or believed. Those come from the evidence one uses to support such an argument. Anyone can make wild accusatory statements, and scream them the loudest - that makes no difference to anyone looking for a true discussion. Thats what people from "up there" look for; reason, factual evidence and conclusions based on thinking and talking the stuff out. Not, "oh you don't agree, then you don't know what you're talking about" or whatever. If people are emotional, then they should be able to hear someone say to them they are in fact emotional without it being an issue. People get emotional all the time. If posters don't like being told that or seen as that, then simply lose some of the emotional charge that is inherent within some of the posts in the Mains. Hard to say something is emotional when its plain to see there is little there.

I've seen someone on here post a thread about how we're going to be alright and how we'd win the Jets game in his opinion and how the offense will be alright and how they've followed a gameplan however conservative it is. Only to turn around 6 days later and post threads about how we're not elite and how everyone who accepts losing is a loser. Their reason for that second post? Pretty obvious; they got their hopes up, then couldn't handle a loss to an opponent they wanted to beat. Failing to realize the only reason he's doing this is because his own expectations; which are not based on anything other than being a fan have not been met. All of that in the end amounts to about - nothing other than being disappointed and moving on. What he chose to do was something completely different.

That's emotion. People change their opinion all the time, but not usually to the polar opposite. Thats emotion, no two ways about it. Its not grounded in anything but how you feel, which in the end has little to do with a sensible, valid argument. Otherwise its just fallacious argumentation designed to do nothing else but to let emotion out.

Thats a rant, and it has very little value here. Really. People want to rant, so be it. But you cannot expect to have it out there and people not disagree. And just because they disagree doesn't mean they don't know as much or more. They may in fact know more, but you'd never know it if all you do is scream at the wind.

I have no issue with you personally other than the ridiculous sentence you had up there which basically stereotypes everyone in the forum based on nothing more than you're own emotions. Some people may be condescending to you, just like there are *******s here, but to lump everyone together under that nonsensical heading is short sighted at best.

My argument is based on facts. Tony Sparano worked with Darren Rizzi at the University of New Haven: FACT. They are now working together with the Miami Dolphins: FACT. How did they BOTH go from the University of New Haven to the Miami Dolphins? Because of cronyism: FACT. No facts huh? But according to all of the people on here attacking me, all of the facts I just presented aren't really facts. I guess Sparano didn't really work with Rizzi at the University of New Haven. Must have been a misprint or something.

no one is arguing Rizzi came from new haven. no one is arguing Bonemego came from new haven. but what you cant prove, yet are throwing off AS FACTS are that this is having a negative impact. Whos not to say some random special teams coach with no Sparano backround wouldnt have produced a worse special team unit? You think bono had a say in personnel moves?!? He had to work with what he was given for his special teams. so would any other special teams coach, regardless of cronyism.

It's my OPINION that it's having a negative impact on the team. You don't have to agree with my opinion, just like I don't have to agree with yours or anyone elses. Right? I posted this thread to get views on both sides, not to have people repeatedly attack me and try to belittle me.

Funny, I'd have assumed it was because you had some of weird victim-hood complex that had gone unfilled for too long.

It doesn't really matter how much you throw your hand up on your forehead and wail about how people are ganging up on you, your argument sucks. It sucks because they've fired multiple of those "cronies", which is directly contrary to the basic concept that they have continued employment due to who and not what they know, and then there's the fact that the biggest hire since has been a guy not in any shape related to the Parcells coaching tree.
