If you had to have one of these coaches coach your team (no, death is NOT an option), who would it be?
Really? To date, one has repeatedly taken his team to the Superbowl, and has actually won a couple. The other constantly talks out his ENORMOUS a$$, has already proclaimed a superbowl win and eats populations of small countries for breakfast. Wouldn't jump on a grenade for either of them, but there is zero doubt who the better coach to date is. And its not even close.
Bellicheat is a no brainer because of his track record. Fat Rex is starting to look like he might be a better coach than I gave him credit for, though I'll reserve further judgment until more of the season plays out. If he does turn out to be pretty good that's kind of egg on Bill Parcells face for interviewing him and then hiring his buddy from Dallas instead. We'll see.
Really? He has had to plug new players into the lineup every single year, yet they unfortunately never miss a beat. The repeatedly trade away top-tier players only to fill the spot with journeymen and yet, keep winning the division year after year after year. What exactly has Fat Rex done period? Hell, sparano has done more than Fat Rex and with much less talent. EDIT: Why remove Tammy Brady? Billicheat has helped create him as well..oh yeah, Brady goes down for a season and the Patriots are STILL one of the best teams in the league.
As good as Brady has been those Super Bowls were won with defense. So it's hard to say he only won them because of Tom Brady. They haven't won anything since Brady's stats started inflating. Plus they won 11 games with Matt Cassell at the helm.
Well, here's the irony. Most Jests fans like to point at what obnoxious Rex did in Baltimore as their barometer, but last time I checked that defense was absolutely LOADED with talent, including the most dominant player in the league while the whale was there. Funny thing is, fatso left, but that defense is still just as dominant.....commom denominator is NOT sexy rexy.
I read this often and it still doesn't make sense to me why its asked. The guy was a good coach in Cleveland too. He turned the franchise around, whilst he was there, and had three pretty good years up until the final season where everything started falling apart, such as injuries and the team being told they were being moved to Baltimore. I'll take Belichick as my HC and Ryan as my DC.
Regarding Tom Brady, he did go in the sixth round for a reason. Belichick said that the first season for Brady he was not very good in practices. He said it showed why he was a sixth round pick and he went around the right area. He said they had to teach him a TON.
i voted based on if i was a player. i would play for a guy like rex ryan any day of the week. he will put his *** on the line to back you up, he goes to bat, hes fiery, a great players coach.....
Players coaches fail. Always have, always will. This one's not even close for me really. Belichick 4 SB appearances. Ryan 0 SB apperances.
ryan just started....belicheat was the epitome of suck when he started. he got a horseshoe up his *** when he drafted brady....and he won some superbowls. hes over rated. imo
How so? He did a good job coaching the Giants defense, went to Cleveland and turned them around and did a good job coaching DB's leading up to his stint in NE.
Until Ryan wins something, I have to go with a proven winner. BB. I think he is a better X's and O's coach too. But so far I am happy with Rex. sent from my EVO 4G
I personally chalk up all the BB wins to cheating. He has been an average coach since they took away his cheating. I would rather play for a coach like this also.
Not so much so this year. They are currentlt 10th. We are currenty 7th. I know you can always say "well he has some great players missing", but that actually makes it a good defense more by personell than by system. Ryan has always had the cream of the crop on his defensive units, makes it a whole lot easier. Billicheat on the other hand has made due by a few great players, then a BUNCH of mediocre players, always changing his scheme to fit the limited personnel he has. Its actually pretty easy to make a case that Billicheat is a better HC and DC!
Tubby is a great DC, but he hasnt proven **** yet. The Jets have plenty of time to **** the bed. You know it, I know it, they know it. Belicheat has proven himself and he will be a HoF HC.
how? they have 3 of their best players out and they are still top 10. if anything that shows they have a good system....
Reallyn using facts here PS... BB has done it year after year, numerous SB rings and Divisional rings... Ryan, well he has not won anything yet... We must remember that to get into the Post Season last year he had to play a quarter and a half against 2-and 3rd team scrubs of the the Colts last year... odds are I would have bet the house, on the Jets, if I knew that was going to happen myself...
You got to go with Belicheat. Most people like to spout off about his time at Cleveland, the win-loss record there etc, but that's nonsense. BB has been a winner everywhere he's stayed for any length of time. Most people don't realize how great of a defensive genius he's been throughout his career. Check out the Giants defense stats of the 1980's-1990's. Look what his defenses did to some of the greatest offenses ever in the NFL. To include the Montana led 49er offenses. Check out how bad Montana's stats were when they played the Giants in the post season. Brady is an average to above-average QB who got lucky enough to play for BB and he has been carried by the Pats defenses from day one.
2 road playoff games. Nothing compared to BB though. However, I do believe there are great coaches that haven't won a Super Bowl yet.
I too believe that there are great coaches who never won a Super Bowl. Out of non-super bowl winning coaches in the league right now though, I'm not sure who I would consider 'great'. Also, winning a Super Bowl doesn't make a coach 'great' either, ie. Brian Billick.
Who would you rather have in a chess match? Jabba the Hutt or Emperor Palpatine? Tough choice...........
