My problem with Henne is it just seems he doesn't care. I haven't seen him once get in a receivers face and say damn it you need to make this move come on! He doesn't seem to have the presence of a LEADER out there. I feel he just does this for his Job and goes home to his new wife and worries about next weeks paycheck.

I may be totally wrong however it FEELS very business like to me and not like a true passion to win or desire. Down 21 points in the forth and you walk to the huddle, take time off the clock I just don't sense an urgency to win from this team.

I would refute this, but for the simple fact that he was not elected the Offensive Captain.

Maybe that's where Parcells maybe took his hint regarding Henne. That he didn't win Team Captain despite being the "clear starter" told Parcells all he needed to know.

And maybe we shouldn't expect him to be the next Marino.

You are wrong. Henne just has a calm, collected demeanor. Just because he isn't running around throwing his arms up and screaming doesn't mean he doesn't care. Also, players and coaches raved about his leadership qualities. You don't see everything that happens in the huddle or on the sidelines to say he doesn't care. He absolutely does, he's talked about how much he wants it a thousand times.

and pennington isnt henne. the point was pennington believes in him and basically said belichik did the same to him and it was a good learning experience.

Pennington never learned to beat BB. They always defensed him well. I love Penny, but BB had his number.

i think the patriots back then actually had a defense that was capable of beating people. bottom line for henne and sanchez is they will both be shown things this year that they still havent seen. defensive coordinators will change things up on them and there will be games that he stink up the joint. thats not necessarily bad if you learn from it.

as well the opinion of hey as long as he had a 300 yard day, 11 straight completions and a good passer rating, everything is good isnt an analysis either... he had 2 boneheaded picks 2....resulting in killing of drives that were promising in the first half, which were because of him creating positives, then killed by him...take away what were very preventable interceptions, and score some points, and add the 2nd half TD, now we are talking....good QB's dont shoot themselves in the foot that badly....but yeah I shouldnt question him, he is the blessed qb of the future...my bad...:wink2: I'm sorry Henne doesnt go without blame and question here either...

    d-bag? GTFO w namecalling

henne 2 bad ints lead to 6 points. we hzad the lead.

Henne has also shown ability to learn

henne has shown progression and some mistakes, like it or not, happens with maturing qbs. if get panicky w/ him and yank him, you risk ruining his psyche.

yes henne made mistakes but spec teams lost that game

Bingo. the key is does henne continually repeat same mistakes goi forward.

he has to learn acceptable risk. 1st 2 weeks oveerly careful so he was late and thus held it. this week, he made a initial read and they baited him, n he tried to gun it in..bad mistakes but correctable

He did have better personnel back then, but he is still very good at confusing young QB's. Last night I think he knew he couldn't bring consistent pressure against your OL, so he dropped a lot of people into coverage. It was the right call. I hate the prick, but kudos to him.

While Henne does not completely suck, he does blow. He is not the answer and the people and " others ' coming to his rescue will still do so when he is the back up on another NFL football team. There will be a bazzillllion reasons given why he did not have that " right situation " in Miami and now that he is with TEAM X he feels more comfortable and able to go in , if needed, when the starting QB goes down. Yep, thats Chad Henne folks.

So far this season Henne has been disappointing.

Can anybody really disagree with that statement? We won our first two games because of our defense. Then Henne came up short against the Jets, and he threw too many interceptions against the Pats.

    But...

There's always a "but" isn't there? It's a long season and Henne still has time to distinguish himself. Hopefully he will benefit from the bye week and lead us to a win against the Packers.

Before the season if you told me we would go into our bye week 2-2 I would have gladly taken it. The second half of our schedule is still soft. Rematches (against the Jets and the Pats) always favor the underdog and previous loser.

A few tidbits for you to consider.

F.Y.I. Henne has a better QB rating than Joe Flacco, more completions than Aaron Rodgers, a higher completion percentage than Matt Ryan or Philip Rivers, more yards than Tom Brady, and more touchdowns than Tony Romo.

Those are just stats but it does give an indication that Henne might not be quite as terrible as we might be thinking. I wouldn't blame anybody for being disappointed in Henne right now. But I wouldn't give up on him yet.

If it weren't for Henne and Marshall, you would have been blown out by the Jets. Your defense gave up 31 points. Henne was directly responsible for the 23 you scored and had your team down inside the 10 at the end.

Henne was fine up until this game and even if he was perfect, you're not winning when you give up a kick return for a TD, a blocked punt that sets up a short TD and a block FG that is returned for a TD.

I understand the fustration, but defensive play in the Jets game and ST play in last nights game is why you lost both games - not Henne.

yes and I totally agree, I am the OP on this thread, and I was asking just off the cuff, this by no means was a response to last night's ST meltdown.....while Henne does get some of the blame, I will say without hesitation that the other areas were far more lacking than Henne....again merely a question from an observation standpoint on 17 games...which is a small window...

No, I don't believe he is.

Henne was a 4 year starter at Michigan and never accomplished much of anything. He's been in the league 2 years and some change. He's making the same exact mistakes he made last year. The guy has a cannon and throws to the dirt constantly. Where is the footwork? His accuracy is spotty too. Even when he completes passes, a lot of them are off target.

    We'll see...

Henne has become a one dimensional QB (like Marino was at the end of his career) who will not scramble for a TD or a first down and would rather FORCE the ball to the receiver for an INT than scramble out of trouble. When a QB will not scramble or run for a first down everyone on the "D" drops into coverage, LB's too, and then you get INT's. Dolphin fans have seen all of this before with the tale end of Marino.

This has always been my complaint with Henne accept now he is under throwing people in the process making the INT problem even worse. When Thigpen took over you saw an immediate difference in how the "D" adjusted because he will run 15 yards and can (and will) do a bootleg etc.. He also rifled the ball further down the field and with less of an issue than Henne did. When a QB is multi-talented with both his arm and his feet he is a nightmarish weapon and a huge head ache for the LB's. Henne is not.

I will say this; and feel free to call me on this later in the year if you like. If we continue to take baby steps with this offense, run a predictable wildcat, and keep Henne holding the ball for 8 seconds, and let him under-throw everyone we won't win many games at all. Thigpen may, or may not be the answer but his style of play certainly is. He is the type of QB that this team needs and allowing him some play time certainly wouldn't hurt.
Henne has become an embarrassment, they fired the special teams coach, they should bench Henne and move on. At some point you must realize that if you have a mouth full of crap - spit it out. "Don't be afraid to see what you see." ....Ronald Reagan.

Until we can run up the middle again, Henne is going to have too much of this offense put on his shoulders. His passing should compliment our running game, not prop it up.

Have you ever noticed that Henne can't throw beyond 20 yards? At the end of the game we needed throws to the endzone not first downs and Henne is in capable. IF HE CAN'T THROW A BOMB WHY DID WE BUST THE PIGGY BANK FOR BRANDON MARSHALL?

I even question the offensive and defensive play calling: with limited time left we were running the ball?? and letting the clock run??? (duhhhhh) I also noticed that for most of the 4th qtr our defense was in a prevent defense allowing NE to throw underneath with ease and get first down after first down. Why were these stupid playS being called from the booth?? They make Rob Nienkowvich (sp?) out to be a hero when Henne through right to him twice and they praise Brady for doing nothing..... The whole thing is simple. we were meant to throw the game so Brady could get his 100th career win. Yet another Patriot fix.

When will the fix be in for the Dolphins?? Starting with the Jets and ending with Tennessee we play 7 teams in a row with winning records last year. This has never happened before in franchise history. The Jets play the same teams but play them at home - we play them away ...... WHY? Why do have to go play in the snow vs both the Jets and the Pat's this year? Why is this the second grueling schedule in a row that this team has to face??

I don't know about you guys but I am getting awfully tired of us getting the short end Of the stick every year. Do they think we are all stupid?? This Bull$hit must end!

I am always open to better explanations.....why were coaches with decades of professional coaching experience intentionally calling the wrong Defensive formations and Offensives that let the clock run?? Why were there no Hail Mary's?? Couldn't they have even done a better job of fixing this?? Watch the highlights and tell me how our great coaches were in the wrong formations for the better part of a qtr. Henne should get an academy award for those INT's. They were a total crock.

sparano just said a qb needs about three years of starting before he truly feels comfortable with what he's seeing. which is what alot of us have been saying. we're only into the beginning of our 2nd yr and he's way ahead of the curve

Henne has been in pads now for probably 12 years (midget league, high school, college and pro) children don't under-throw receivers that badly, and he did it in every game too. If you saw the highlight last night Marino stepped right in and took charge. I think Henne is starting to suck, lets try giving Thigpen a little play time or getting a QB in here that can use his feet.

His opinion is ok! You're trying to put in some stats to make your opinion fact here and thats just not the entire case. You also cannot take for granted, the fact that the boneheaded play was in fact, just that. He was not the reason they lost but he was surely a part of it. He totally locks onto his reciever wayyy too much and if he cannot correct that, he will not last in this league.

Henne is a gamer but he did not have a good game last night.

see the self proclaimed qb experts now a qb when they done ther sees one and welp they says that Henne aint ta one so he aint ta one.

Henne cant throw over 20 yards? LMAO but if he would have thrown it into coverage then he is making bad decisions w/ the ball.

Henne is inexperienced playing on an inexperienced team. Ronnie and Ricky are the vet leaders ad they are not vocal leaders, more cerebral.

I wish people would stop basing what they think Henne should be doing based on what someone else is doing. We are diff, we play diff system. would Sanchez overcome the 3tds caused by spec teams.

What I liked about Henne is he said as the qb of this team he would put the loss on his shoulders, he didnt make excuses, he didnt throw anyone under bus.

Fact is, this is his first full year, and he has shown progression, he can throw tthe touch pass now. he isnt fully matured yet, when he is then look at his strengths and weaknesses and evaluate. Until then stop making absolute judgments when fact is you dont know, stomping the loudest and the longest doesnt prove your point.

Fact is,jury is still out on Henne. Sad as it is for some of you, this is the bed they made, they have to see it through sufficiently to know. musical chairs at qb is never the answer and Henne hasnt had enough time.

I would say thats about right except the part about him being way ahead of the curve. I'd be more inclined to say he is ahead but not by far. Paddywon has much to learn, and I think he can do it but I see him not purposely trying but occassionaly reverting back to what he did in college.

Sam Bradford as a rookie has shown about as much as Henne in year three. Anyone see a problem with that? Especially considering the talent difference between Miami and St. Louis.
