http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/10/05/tyler-thigpen-could-be-the-future-of-the-dolphins/ I hope it's true, Henne is a checkdown interception machine with tunnel vision.
Checkdown interception machine huh? Question for you; Have you ever watched Tyler Thigpen play QB? How about last night, for example? PFT has been wrong about just about everything Dolphins related, so I think this is pretty baseless.
Really, we're wishing for Thigpen now. This just gets better by the minute. This is just ridiculous speculation on PFT's part. What a joke.
a) Don't EVER believe anything PFT tells you about anything. b) Your summation of Chad Henne as a "check down interception machine" is baseless and inaccurate c) Chad Henne has now started 17 games, hardly enough to make a decision on whether or not he's a bust d) If you think we're in trouble now, you don't even want to see what would happen if Tyler Thigpen was our starting QB. If Henne can't get it done, I'd rather see Pennington in as starter instead.
7.3 ypa is a checkdown machine now? Drew Brees, Carson Palmer, Joe Flacco, Mark Sanchez, Matt Ryan, and Brett Favre all have worse YPA. Brett favre, Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning, and Joe Flacco all have more interceptions (on equal or less attempts, except Flacco). Rivers and Schaub have the same number of picks, on similar pass attempts. And I'll take tunnel vision if it leads to 64.4% completions and consistent 3rd down conversions of 6+ yds as well as 50.8% conversion rate (2nd in the league).
OOOOkaay, what about the constant bounce passes to receivers ? Has anyone told Henne Bounce passes are good only in basketball ? I guess not. What about our downfield threat ? is 4 to 8 yard passes considered downfield threat ? Was Brandon Marshal signed to catch 3 and 4 yard passes then fight for another 2 to 3 yards ? What about have enough time to cook a roast beef and still putting the ball in bounce pass mode ? Is that a mishap, 4 times a game ? each game How many more games does Henne get to WAKE UP ? Honest question, you tell me the answer because as far as I am concerned, have seen enough, the kid is not an NFL quality starting QB. Oh wait, you are the type that will post up, " Well , I have to eat crow, Henne really does blow " Is that your long term plan ? What if Henne stinks it up in GB ? No change then ? keep plowing along with an apparent loser at QB ? Yeah, I gues so, God forbid they do something about the problem. So I ask and seriously ask, In your Opinion, HOW MANY MORE GAMES DOE CHAD HENNED GET TO PROVE HE IS STARTING CALIBER TYPE OF QB IN THE NFL ? Give us a number.
Off With All Their Heads! Let the back ups come in and show them how it's done in the NFL. LMAO, and then some.
Yeah, he is a checkdown machine. If you can call 5 yard passes a downfield threat then you should watch soccer more often.
Than you better be ready to get worse if Thigpen plays. By the way, its false, Sparano even gave it a JC when it was mentioned to him.
Has a Jets fan hacked your account? This is perhaps the worst thread in the history of thephins.com and there have been plenty made by trolls..
I can accept getting worse with whoever they choose to replace Henne, I honestly can. I cannot accept another 5- 7 or even the rest of the season watching Chad Henne at QB, its fruitless, he is not the future here or anyplace else. Honest, I can accept not being good because we changed QBs. Know why? Because we are not good with our current QB so we just keep him in there and his army of followers continue to make reason why he screwed up from week to week ? No friggin way. give him the GB game and if he bounce passes one more pass, yank his asssss. I could see if he was under pressure but you look at his bounce pass attempts IN EVERY GAME THIS YEAR. 95% of the situations he has enough time to change the oil in his car, he is not being pressured and he still bounces it on the ground and this dweeb is the future ? at what ? melon tossing ?
Dear god man.....bring some quality to your thread. If you feel he is a checkdown interception machine...please try and back it up with something intellectual, especially if you are going to start a thread....
I don't believe Henne is a checkdown machine, but did anyone else notice we didn't make any deep throw attempts this game? After hooking up a long pass in each of the prior two games, I'm a little disappointed we didn't test the baby NE secondary a little.
They look it away. There were plays where you could tell Henne was looking downfield but it wasn't there. Give NE credit. And I don't have anything to add to the dumbness of calling Henne a "checkdown, interception machine". Stitches already supplied the stats to prove otherwise.
why would henne be benched for thiggy?would'nt he be benched for penny?or is penny still "injured"? it would seem penny has a better grasp of this offense than thiggy thus giving us the best oppurtunity for success which is why we would bench henne..for not being successful with his 2 back to back 300+ yard performances in games we needed 400 from him. it's not all hennes fault yes but do we continue with him in possibly ruining his confidence due to poor play from the rest of the team?
Anyone at the game able to explain this? I know they were doubling up on Marshall all game. And I'm ok with a lot of Henne's Checkdowns. It saved him from getting sacked on quite a few of those blitzes.
30 at least. the rest of this season and all of next. after that its year to year depending on where he is
belichik basically played deep zone and dropped the linebackers to help on the short and intermediate routes. the passes vs that type of defense tend to be short to medium. its really hard to get deep when they are gameplanning against that
No. let the people sticking up for him explain it after the Green Bay game, Serious, save the thread, I am and after the Green Bay game, Lets hear their excuses and all I am going to do is post a link to their responses to his thread, should be fun
