Interesting concept putting him on Shiancoe. Last play of the game for the Vikes, he covered Shiancoe as good as humanly possible and it obviously resulted in an incompletion and sealed the game. It's something I'd like to see a little more of, putting him on some of these more athletic TE's in the league today. Thoughts?
we put Smith in a position to sink or swim. Mother ****er swam Phelps style. As Sparano says you need to take advantage of limited opportunities SEan Smith did.
Jason Allen is definitely making it hard on Smith to have a start anytime soon. I am starting to believe more and more that Coach Sparano wasn't just blowing smoke when he said Allen started more cause of what he did, than what Smith didn't do.
That last play was great. He made the cut inside even before Shiancoe did. He read that beautifully. It can't hurt to have three good corners.
Maybe last year. Sean Smith's tackling today and in the preseason looks night and day from last year. In fact, it's been that way with the whole team. A lot of missed tackles last year, hasn't been that way so far. Obviously we whiffed on a couple tackles vs. AP, but it's AP, he makes people miss consistently.
