    http://blog.azcardinals.com/2010/02/11/cards-lose-austin-to-college-job/

I got this from another board:

    This is from azcardinals.com:

"The Cardinals are looking for another assistant coach now that Teryl Austin as accepted a job at the University of Florida, a development first reported by Mike Jurecki that I have since confirmed. The Cardinals could stay in-house by promoting assistant defensive backs coach Rick Courtright or coach Ken Whisenhunt could look elsewhere. I would guess Whisenhunt would like someone in place by the end of the month when the coaching staff heads to the scouting combine. That begins Feb. 24."

Tebow hopes new motion sways critics

Tim Tebow was the first big-name quarterback to take the NFL's stage Friday.

He's hoping the draft goes down the same way.

The man with one Heisman Trophy, two national titles and may be the most intriguing pro prospect since Michael Vick, came to the league's annual scouting combine with a new look he hopes will improve his draft stock.

"It's not necessarily changing the whole [throwing] motion, it's where I'm holding the ball," Tebow said. "I'm holding it higher and not having that loop in there. My release point isn't different at all."

"My dream is to be an NFL quarterback and I'm going to do whatever it takes to do that. If I'm asked to do something else, I'll do it, because it's always team first." -- Tim Tebow

I'm disappointed that there has been no talk about the gator baseball team. They have a legitimate shot at winning a national championship and they are loaded with young talented pitching and one of the best 3 and 4 hitters I've seen in Preston Tucker and Austin Maddox. I say Tucker breaks LaPorta's HR record before he leaves.

I never talk about them because no one else really does. As a Gator fan you must realize that most ppl only care about football. I try and stay informed in all sports from Football to Mary Wise and the Volleyball team.

Also Gators just won the national title at the Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship

I've been to a couple games this year and I listen to almost all of the others on the radio. I try to be a fan of all things UF and at least keep my ears open for the other sports. Gainesville will be hosting the NCAA Championship for Gymnastics too.

Gators defeated the number 4 ranked razorbacks in baseball today in the rubber match of the 3 game series. This gave them the series win.

Wow this thread is dead. Gator baseball teams plays LSU in the opening round of the SEC tournament at 5:30 today. The Gators have already wrapped up the SEC regular season title and look to win the tournament title before they make a World Series run.

That game was downright embarrassing. UF had 2 outs, 2 strikes and we had a one run lead at the top of the 9th, and still screwed it up. Any decently defensive baseball team would have had that game over at 9 innings. Nice sweep guys.

I'd rather be lucky than good lol. I think you guys set a new post season record for errors in a game, which is a shame really because it diluted a great pitching performance by Chris Hernandez.

Also a shame was the 3 run homer given up by Kevin Chapman to blow Hudson Randall's performance. You could see on the telecast that he was very upset when that happened. I wonder if Chap was rusty to do not pitching that much recently, because he is normally automatic.

Regardless I think we have a legitimate shot at winning it all, because we can pitch, hit and play defense. The last time we made it to the title game we were a long ball team that was destroyed by a small ball playing Texas. This team can do either, and the super regional emphasized what we have seen all year. The gators can blow you out or come from behind and win.

Former Gator walk-on running back Ean Mcquay was arrested last Sunday for assault and kidnapping of an adult or persons under 13. While appearing in the 2010 media guide, he had quit the team before pre-season camp. Hardly news worthy, but he was a friend of mine.

Here's a background I thought you guys would like. It's an iPad wallpaper from the Nike Pro Combat uniforms. It reminds me of Paynes Prairie, in between Gainesville & Micanopy.[IMG]

I passed Paynes Prairie just about every day on my way to Lake Wauburg where I practiced for the UF Water skiing team.

Did you know Paynes Prairie was a lake until a sinkhole drained it away.? In certain times of the year it was difficult to go past it without clouds of love bugs ruining the paint job on your car.

Yeah man, a lot of people don't know that it's man made, I've met plenty of college kids that think it's some kind of natural preserve. Completely understandable, though. It turned out beautiful, I think.

Sorry Dog, but it is a natural preserve.

Paynes Prairie holds the key to a lush past and history. Human occupation in this area dates back as far as 12,000 BP (before present). In the late 1600's the largest cattle ranch in Spanish Florida was formed here and named La Chua. Two hundred years later the Seminole Indians occupied the area. The prairie is thought to be named after a Seminole Chief named King Payne. However, around the prairie several small battles were fought for the Second Seminole War. This war lasted from 1835-1842 and was the Indians' retaliation for being forced to leave their home.

After the war, in 1871, heavy rains caused the basin of the prairie to flood. Although this area was not inhabitable, people still found a way to use the prairie. Steam-powered boats traveled across what was now called the Alachua lake to transport lumber, goods and passengers to the shoreline. It wasn't until 1891 that the main drain for the basin became unclogged and the water drained. In 1892 the prairie was again considered a marsh.

In the 1900's, William Camp began cattle operations on the prairie. It seems as if the prairie's life cycle had come full circle. After 70 years, the state decided that this habitat was important enough to preserve. In 1971 Paynes Prairie became Florida's first state preserve. Three years later it was designated as a National Natural Landmark.

The prairie is alive and well today because of the preservation efforts of the state of Florida. Over 400 species of animals live in this vital environment. This preserve also supplies hours of entertainment to people from around the state of Florida.
