Can I get an amen to that!! It's so much more fun when you can look at something for the joke that it's meant to be without having to analyze every stinkin word to make sure nothing discriminatory can be interpreted. IMO the whole "outa sight outa mind" philosophy would do wonders for alleviating this unnecessary conflict. It's over and done with; now it's time to f'n move on already. The more it stays in the spotlight, the longer it will exist. There are racist blacks (no I will not say African American) just as there are racist whites (and I don't say African Americans b/c we don't call whites "European Americans", do we?. I'm actually more of a tannish; however, you don't see me throwing a conniption every time someone refers to me as "white" even though it doesn't accurately match my skin tone!!) By allowing the "race card" to stay in play, all we're accomplishing is enabling the racist blacks to have BS reasons to be racist AND get away with it (yes, I said it!) while allowing the frightened white "equal rights advocates" the ammunition to blow innocent crap out of proportion which further propagates the division between the 2 races. Pretty soon whites will have to advocate a "new" Equal Rights Amendment just to get things back to even. I'm not a racist person; so I'm getting pretty damn tired of having to monitor every freakin word I say to make sure I'm not prejudicially persecuted by the race card police. If we continue to interpret words as if they "could" be racist, then racism and division of the races will ALWAYS exist.
I respectfully disagree. Whenever there's a collective of different races or nationalities involved, the hat gets turned around backwards whether it's at work, in a forum, or even a party where not everyone knows each other. I showed a YouTube clip of a monkey performing martial arts and compared it to Jaden Smith's acting ability in 'The Karate Kid'. I said something like: "here's a behind the scenes clip of Jaden training for the movie"....... and that s#!t was removed immediately and I received a violation for it. It's bull crap how everything is: "if it looks like a duck from 500 yards, then it must be a duck". I don't know about the rest of you, but my vision is 20/15 and even I can't see that good.
Question to make you think: (Using the above scenario as an example) If Jaden Smith were born an albino..... and an albino karate chimpanzee were compared to albino Jaden, would it still be interpreted racially?
If Chris Carter can say that..... and Charles Barkley can say that the greatest white ever to live was Col. Sanders...... then I should be able to tell this joke....... why do black men only have nightmares????? cause the last one to have a dream got shot. I'm not racist, but fair is fair.
I know, but I get tired of all the white jokes by black people. It must be okay for black people to talk smack about white people, but when white people make a joke about black people, we're called racist. Remember when Obama was running, there was a group of black people saying that if you didn't vote for Obama, then you were racist. It's all crap, but I understand your original post.
