I've rarely seen him throw a ball away.

I thought he would be a sort of Mike Tomczak, a solid, journeymen Starter for a decade or so, but he looks the same now as he did in 07 to me.

    Thompson is making a case.

I don't disagree with you that he holds the ball too long, I'm saying on that particular play. I didn't think he had anywhere to go. :)

Ah kemosabe, I never said I thought Hardy was a bum, I did say Hardy was a 5th rd pick, and I was overly optimistic in that assessment..he was a 6th rd pick...

yeah my main weakness is figuring out what rounds people go. If I like a player drafted in the 6th round I cant understand why other people dont see the same and want to draft him in the 2nd or 3rd

The talent level was never in question. The character had to be though. I mean, how could it not? I know you're aware of all the crap he did at Ole Miss, from smoking weed to skipping practice to go to the mall to getting caught watching cartoons in the film room to talking about designing being his favorite thing to do and saying the money is the motive.

I will give you credit for Perrish Cox though. So far, he's been an angel, which wasn't the case at Oklahoma St.

Well, after awhile a sort of instinct develops like a little old lady picking through tomatoes at the local Ginardo's.

Tim Tebow is an excellent example of how GM's move in contra to what non GM's think, most thought 3rd round pick, he never would have made it past the early second round in reality.

What is more interesting is players such as Derrick Morgan, everyone thought "sure thing" he has spent the summer with a bum calf and finally made it into a game.

i think those kind of character concerns are overblown. The main thing is once school is over are they ready to put behind them their childish ways. I read some interviews with him before the draft and the guy just said all the right things. I had no doubts about him. He understands how much money is at stake and thats the key. Same with Vontae last year. He was supposed to be a problem child but he said all the right things in interviews. So long as they understand whats expected of them they are safe picks IMO. Its the ones who dont understand, who dont get it that you have to worry about. The ones who run with a criminal element and dont want to drop it or the ones who feel the world owes them a living. Thats my main concern with Dez Bryant, I still feel like he thinks the world owes him a living. I dont think he'll ever handle criticism well. So long as he gets off to a quick start I think he'll be fine but if things go wrong early in his career I could see the guy imploding

the main thing I learned about the first two rounds is GMs are looking for instant starters. Other than QB or players whose upside is off the charts, they will wait for projects until the 3rd or later. Usually 4th round is when the projects start being drafted and thats because GMs are looking to fill holes in their roster with the first wave. Its common sense but it took me a few years before I realized that. I used to always look at potential and it didnt matter to me if it took two or three years to get it, Live and learn

The thing most impressive to me about Tebow, he doesn't look overwhelmed or out of place. Yes hes making rookie mistakes but the guy is a winner and a FB player plus hes smart. I just will not bet against those kind of odds. Love watching him play!:wink2:

Funny thing is, sometimes Organizations simply will not trust their #1 or #2 picks, we've seen that in Miami, a guy will be drafted but rarely plays as maybe the GM likes him, but the Staff doesn't, so the guy is buried on the roster.

yeah, I gotta say that when it comes to Tebow, I think he'll prove me wrong from the little Ive seen of the guy. I thought he would have a much harder time in the NFL but there's something about him that is just a winner it seems

well once they get drafted, all bets are off. They have to prove themselves. Coaches will play the best players on the roster regardless of where someone was drafted. But leading up to the draft alot of GMs will have two types of boards. Potential starters and projects. The potential starters go first and the projects go in the later rounds
