I saw a blurb about from 305(respect) but, I thought it deserves its own thread. Is Brandon feeling the pressure of the money? Is he going back to the old wierdo ways? Is he just that competitive, that this bugs him that much?

In any event I like it, tell ya the truth I am glad he dropped the passes, the fire grows stronger now, the athletic spirt in him grows, as he knows errors like this can't happen in a game.

PS...btw the Crowder interview is pretty good, takes a playful pop-shot at Rex..........

    http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thed...ndon-marshall-with-video-of-channing-crowder/

Brandon Marshall dropped a pass in the end zone at Dolphins camp Monday, and proceeded to punt the ball over a fence.

Still a knucklehead. Since a dominant start to camp, Marshall has struggled over the last nine days, and had two drops in Miami's preseason opener. Marshall reportedly "brooded" off to the side for the rest of Monday's practice. He did similar things in Broncos camp last year, although that was believed to be due to frustration with his contract. He got paid big time since.

exactly I wasnt saying it wasnt anything other than that.....As long as he focuses that anger on his play....and not some anti-team thing, this is a win win situation.....

Another thing, you think Parcells saw it?? I do......if Sparano didnt talk to him already championing the kid, Tuna will......ALOT of players, present, and former say about how much he cares for the players....Brandon is young and wild still, he needs a guy like the Tuna to take him under....I suspect he will...

    Well away from here
Did it disrupt practice? Did it impede practice? Did he do it after he himself screwed up? Yup.

Is this overblown at this stage? Yup.

I guess you can look at it either way and be right. But it is a tad concerning that he lets his emotions get the best of him like this. It can manifest itself in another way during the game.

Having said that though, it is a different reasoning than the Broncos fiasco. He seems like he is punishing himself for dropping passes. I just wish he did it in another fashion or made himself a vow to not let it happen again.

i love how the story says its the same exact thing he did in denver last year.........he did it being a ***** last year in the middle of drills to show his disdain at the coaches/front office....

he did it this time cause he was disapointed in himself. no biggy. just like when a corner drops a int and does push ups in the middle of the field, delaying practice. what nfl player cant do 10 pushups? but they do it to "punish" themselves, brandon was pissed and kicked a ball, then stood to let it soak in on the sideline....

i chalk this up to the "no big deal" file.

Ben Volin is a bit of an idiot, IMO. His parallel between Marshall's punting last year and this year doesn't make much sense, and I suspect he's not quite informed as to what happened between Marshall and the Broncos organization. Seems like he's just regurgitating summary sentences he reads on ESPN.

Anyway, not too big of a deal here. Though I'm starting to believe this stuff about Marshall's number being cursed...

As long as HE KEEPS IT ON THE FIELD!!!

I really don't mind, by now we have all watched the BMarsh youtube stuff and when he was appearing with Cutler he spoke about "football should be fun".

And it should be, this is a good test for Sparano, Marshall isn't a Joey Porter malignant presence, he is a high strung guy, how Sparano handles this matters..going forward.

Personally I'd run some Wr end arounds with Marshall throwing the rock to someone just to lighten the mood

It's good if he gets mad at himself?

Yeah sure. if his reaction is to catch 100 balls from the jugs machine as punishment.

punting the football is a baby move. someone tweeted that every single WR except Marshall was at the jugs machine practicing. spin this how you want. I'm sure every team that TO went to there were those hoping he was a changed man.

Marshall has been a baby before. It's on him to prove to me (just me, yall are adults who can make up your own mind) that he has changed, not vice versa.

Did you just compare Marshall's punting the football to TO's locker room detonation? Really? I'm starting to think people have forgotten exactly what TO did in San Fran and Philly, and tried to do in Dallas.

This is a big deal only if it turns out to be the starting point for a bigger problem, which I don't think is even realistic. In the end, we're talking about a receiver frustrated with his performance, not a receiver trying to hog the ball, insult his quarterback, divide the locker room, and create discord.

I don't see how this relates to what he did in Denver. It could eventually, but not right now.

I disagree Jd, at least somewhat, the thing with super talented people is they are quirky..really quirky..it is up to Sparano to manage the situation.

This is Head Coaching problem #2 for Sparano, the drone team from 08 is not the team from 2010, it is up to him to manage it.

Talent management is a part of the Coaches job description.

Yes I compared it. Notice I did not equate them. Analogies don't have to be equal. ;)

Again, his past history is there. For me, its up to him to show he's changed. Not vice versa. Just because he's wearing my teams colors doesn't change that.

he's acted bad in the past. This is further bad behavior.

TO has blown up many locker rooms. And he continues to do so when somewhere for more than a year. Marshall can be a new man. and I sure do hope so. I just bought his jersey. I have high hopes for him. But still, he has to prove he has changed. He doesn't get that benefit from me, just because he inked a deal with my team.

Ideally, they would be at least accurate.

Agreed, but this isn't worth ringing the alarm bells over. An NFL player is displeased with his performance in practice--so what?

Marshall hasn't blown up any locker rooms. The TO comparison is invalid.

The point here; and I think this is also what JD307 is saying......there is a right way and a wrong way to express your frustration.
Punting the football because you're mad at yourself for making a mistake does nothing to remedy the problem.
If you want to do something about it then go practice with the jugs machine. Do something that will actually make you better at your job. That's the grown up way of dealing with problems.

It's also not an act of someone trying to implode the team for his own benefit.

I think you guys need to listen to Pennington's comments on Marshall.

    I agree with this.
Show some class and go back to work. Wearing your emotion on your sleeve and punting a football over a fence won't help you catch passes it just shows that he wants everyone to know he is angry at himself. Take care of it by catching the next one. I don't like this myself it shows lack of character.

The comparison to TO isn't about blowing up locker rooms. it's about patterned behavior. ;)

Punt football, stay isolated from rest of the team, don't practice on Jugs machine while every single WR not named Marshall was on the jugs machine.

Sounds like a baby to me.

The second Terrell Owens was mentioned, the accusations went to the next level.

And Brandon Marshall does not have that pattern.

His problems in Denver were not with the locker room or a player. He had issues with the team and management. He didn't like the way they handled his hip injury, and he contends they reneged on a promise to give him a new contract to reflect his on-field performance.

When you try to bring Terrell Owens into this, it tells me you aren't clear on what happened with Marshall in Denver. Marshall never undermined his teammates, as TO did with McNabb and Garcia, and attempted to do with Romo and Witten. Marshall never complained about playcalling, about his game to game stats, or about being sufficiently targeted. He never needed to do sit-ups in his driveway, he never needed to give an interview to ESPN about his relationship with his teammates, and most importantly, he never relished the negative attention.

The one time Marshall punted the ball in Denver, it was after a meeting with Bowlen and McDaniels that didn't go well. He was frustrated with his status in the organization, not expressing contempt for his teammates. If you think that Marshall's problems in Denver had to do with malcontent punting meant to steal attention away from his teammates, then you took the wrong lessons from his time there.

Wake me when Marshall is charged with domestic abuse.

Edit: Ben Volin just tweeted this.

Clearly, Odrick and Jerry are locker room cancers now.

You apparently don't get it. TO's example is to show, that sometimes players are what they are. TO disrupted locker rooms wherever he went. Next team, another disruption.

You keep going back to comparing what TO did, then showing how Marshall is unlike TO. That's fine. But that's someone else's point. Not mine.
Brandon has shown immaturity his whole career. This is more evidence of that. Never have I said he has had a problem with a locker room, or individual player, or anything like that. I'm showing that sometimes, a player is what he is. Whenever Marshall has been confronted with any type of problem, he's shown his immaturity.

Again, you are focusing on specific things that TO did,to show that Marshall isn't TO. I'm not even arguing that. I'm showing that sometimes a tiger doesn't change their stripes. Not every tiger has the same stripes. But the tiger doesn't change whatever stripes he has.

Will Brandon ever grow up, and learn how to deal with problems like a man? That remains to be seen. Today he hasn't shown that.

I take issue with everyone going to the jugs machine, while Marshall doesn't. When it's Marshall with the dropsies. I take issue with him punting the ball, then sulking. Be a man. Address the issues. Move on. Don't be a baby and that's what he's being, a baby. And i'm not going to coddle him.

You broached the topic by making the comparison.

He's shown that he's frustrated between recent performance in practice and the game on Saturday. I don't know how kicking the ball is a demonstration of immaturity.

I'm not worried. If I'm Henning I set up the game plan this week that features him. Let Henne get a groove and let Marshall catch 4 or 5 passes.

That said, if he drops a few more in the next game and begins to go a little crazy we WILL have an issue.
