http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20.../08/12/dolphins.postcard/index.html?eref=sihp Good article on SI.com. Definitely gets me excited to see the team in action this year!
I thought this was really interesting: I knew the boy was fast, but that's pretty impressive to see. Maybe we didn't need Ginn's speed after all?
gotta put the other part of that quote tho bro. with the promise of this team, idk if i can wait. We better win some of those games.
It's a good point he makes about us being young, I don't disagree it will be tough this year. But I'm hopeful
Is anything last year proved that we can hang with the elite teams, why would that change now that we're better?
They know they have to finish games, our personnel and coaching upgrades should allow us to do that. We had both super bowl teams on the ropes and blew it. Our corners aren't rookies anymore, our QB is in full command. WE have a big play wideout on offense, those close games are going to start going in our favor IMO. We played the best last year and came up just short. Hell the Saints rallied on us when ginn dropped a pass right in his hands that led to a pick 6 just after halftime. Teams are not going to have fun facing us this year. I dont' know if we can close out all the close games, but the 7 playoff teams through weeks 2-9 doesn't scare me. I think we can win most of those.
Nearly all of the teams listed in that quote are paper tigers. Worthy of respect, but not fear. They certainly aren't clearly better than us, and three of them have the exact same question marks that we do.
Not only are we better, we have more young, high-energy, gritty, high effort guys on the field now. Wake-Misi-Odrick added to that front seven is a LOT of high octane, man.
Gotta start fast! By week 5 we could be in the drivers seat in the East! How great would that be? anlgp - Nice Jimmy Page Avy...
That'd be great so long as we're in the driver's seat come the first of the year.... SeanP, Hartline is fast, but he's no where near Ginn fast... He seems to possess one thing that Ginn didn't tho, and that is the ability to not choke when the spotlight was on him....we'll have to see, but we'll miss that speed at some point this season...
I totally agree, I wasn't trying to say he's got Ginn's speed, that guy is crazy fast. What I meant was that Ginn's only game as a receiver was the deep ball. If Hartline can play that at least to a serviceable level, when you add in his other skills and traits, Ginn becomes easily expendable.
Loved the article, got me pumped up even more for the season to start. Especially and pleasantly surprised about Brian Hartline winning every wind sprint, agree maybe we won't miss TG at all. Hartline sure seems like he will be that deep threat to compliment Marshall we all are hoping for.
It all start with week one boys at Buffalo. If we can't win that game it will be a long season for the phins
