Guys I'll be watching...I'm just sticking with 'my' guys here (tossing out some guys that have already arrived), I realize there are plenty of other guys that should be of interest... New Orleans: 81 WR Mark Bradley 80 TE Jimmy Graham 71 LT Charles Brown 61 LG Brandon Carter 68 DT Jay Ross (Simon's boy) 27 CB Malcolm Jenkins New England: 07 QB Zac Robinson 17 WR Taylor Price 76 RT Sebastian Vollmer 91 DT Myron Pryor 96 LB Jermaine Cunningham 93 LB Marques Murrell 55 LB Brandon Spikes 32 CB Devin McCourty Carolina: 77 LG Andrew Crummey 63 OC Steve Justice 91 DE Everette Brown 76 DE Greg Hardy 98 DT Nick Hayden Baltimore: 88 TE Dennis Pitta 61 DE Arthur Jones 99 LB Paul Kruger 59 LB Dannell Ellerbe 28 FS Tom Zbikowski Oakland: 04 QB Colt Brennan 12 WR Jacoby Ford Dallas: 07 QB Stephen McGee 68 LT Doug Free 58 LB Jason Williams You can probably guess that I won't bother watching the Oakland-Dallas game.
Well looks like the decision was made for me anyway. Apparently since the Saints game isn't at home they aren't broadcasting it locally.
Yeah Jalen Parmele would be a fun one to watch. There's a rumor they're going to trade McGahee because they're so confident in Parmele. But he wasn't one of 'mine' strictly speaking so I didn't name him.
I did add back in some guys that I like for other reasons. I identified Marques Murrell last year as a guy on the Jets that showed a lot more than Gholston and should have gotten a shot...and I think he's got a sack right now on Drew Brees and the first unit. And now Zbikowski just got a sack. Whoop whoop.
WOWOWOWOWOW. Greg Hardy is going to be GOOD. Holy crap. He looks like a man among boys. It was only like three plays, but still. Got a TFL. Damn, that's one to keep an eye on. I love Haruki Nakamura. I've never known a Haruki that wasn't a psycho.
I wonder if Greg Hardy is going to run out of gas. Three of those first four plays of his were just superb. But he's not a guy I would accuse of working hard enough to have the stamina to keep up the intensity for a full game.
Zbikowski has a sack. Kruger has a sack. Greg Hardy has a TFL and looks like a beast. My guys looking pretty good in this one.
Paul Kruger with a sack, should have had another one but was held, no call. Had a tipped ball at the line. Got in there for some some pressure as a nickel rusher, playing all DE with some DT in nickel mixed in. Nick Hayden with a sack, also a TFL with a forced fumble turnover. Greg Hardy with two sacks and three additional TFLs, general domination. I thought Everette Brown really stunk. Just need to see a lot more. He's not playing complete and I would bump Greg Hardy ahead of him on the depth charts TODAY. Dennis Pitta showed some good things, didn't get much opportunity. Should have had that incredible sideline catch, thought it was a bad call. Arthur Jones looked solid, not overwhelmed. Very strong player. He needs to start making some of the plays I thought he could make that made me like him so much. Dannell Ellerbe took a lot of snaps including against the first string of Carolina. He looked solid but I needed to see more out of him. I don't even know that I saw Andrew Crummey or Steve Justice play at all.
Marques Murrell jumped out at me while I was watching my tapes of Marques Douglas. So I went ahead and watched every snap of his with the Jets last year. He really did a pretty good job. He should have been given more of an opportunity but he needed to be able to play a regular 3-4 OLB position, and the Jets couldn't afford him much opportunity at that. He's in a good place with the Pats and I hate that they're so smart with their pickups. He got a sack straight up on pro bowler Jon Stinchcomb, forced the three and out.
Spikes looks good? What's standing out? I don't have NFLN. Damn Bright House. I'm jealous of you guys.
Exactly what we imagined. He's bucking it up in the middle and serving as a road clog, very physical, can get off the block and get after the ball. When he's got the open shot at the ball he takes it. And he sniffed out a screen, made a play that way. Murrell is looking pretty natural at 3-4 SOLB.
And Spikes just covered Shockey on a short route, was on him like white on rice, got him down for only a 2 yard gain.
Love reading that! Love it! It's exactly what we all debated in the Club during draft time. Spikes > McClain, I still stand by that.
