Omark has been critical of Koa Misi's lack of "flash", and so far it has been surprisingly quite on the Koa Misi front, I've just chalked it up to A)inexperience, B) Converting from De to OLB C)complex scheme.
Padre, I don't know, didn't he say Cam Wake was on the roster bubble last year? In Nolan's scheme, Misi is going to be asked to cover more often than not; perhaps that's why he's not "flashy". I'm intersted to see how he does this preseason.
Well, the difference that I've noticed is Koa is not flashing as much as Wake did this time last season, Wake had a couple of sacks, I rarely hear Koa's name mentioned in any context. Let me be clear, I'm not saying "bust" not even close, all I am saying is Koa is having a quite camp so far. This is maybe thread #5 where I've put up Tweets, and I have trouble recalling Koa's name being mentioned. Heck in fact, Chris McCoy is having a great camp, but he is wildly inconsistent, he'll have back to back sacks, then pull a bonehead..
http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thed...day-scrimmage-with-video-of-brandon-marshall/ White had a good day, Thiggy struggled..cannot wait for the preseason to begin.
Watch out for Tony Mcdaniel Ronin...I just watched some pretty explosive footage..This is a good player, good burst out of his stance, and play's with excellent balance, and trajectory for a man his size...This guy is gonna make some play's for us this year, moreso than last.
McD's problem is he does not do that consistently, one play he looks like a beast, then he disappears for an entire qtr.
Hmm...I like Omark, sometimes I think there are legitimate questions about whether he knows what he is seeing.
I don't think anyone here should expect a high sack total out of him. He'll most likely be playing the run and dropping into coverage more then anything. He will probably be a work in progress as a pass rusher. I'm pegging the over under for Koa at 3.5 sacks. I expect this teams sacks will come from Wake, Defensive back blitzing and inside pressure (I actually expect Channing to get a few sacks this year despite my dislike for him....in Nolan's scheme he's going to get a LOT of chances to do so).
TBH, I can live with Crowder if he has more TFL's. As for Koa, if he does lack that passrushing burst, and I'm not sure he does, then Nolan has other options in Francis, McCoy and Grant. I suspect Koa will be fine though, SOLB's with high sack totals are rare they have to have a different skill set than just "explosive passrusher".
I think I've mentioned it in replies to you a couple of different times. Once a player participates in Training Camp, he is no longer eligible for the PUP. I'm not in the know enough? Ok, here is a link for you: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physically_Unable_to_Perform And another: http://www.examiner.com/x-778-Houst...-on-the-physically-unable-to-perform-PUP-list
Misi was never that flashy IMO. He didn't have any outstanding things (other than his athleticism) in college but he did everything well IMO. He has a good first step, good strength, aforementioned good athleticism, good FBI, good range, good closing burst. He is not a flashy player but he gets it done.
Forgive me MrClean. Yes, you have said this to me more than once before. Slipped my mind. Thanks for the refresher!
