We're heading into the 3rd season since hitting rock bottom at 1-15. Year one we overachieved, which was incredible. Year two we got better, but couldn't close out wins against potent offenses. Year thr33 carries the expectations of making the playoffs and advancing. The offense has no excuse for falling short. This is the most complete offense I've seen in Miami since I've been watching them. We never even had a running game under Marino. If our passing game takes off this year, then this will probably be the most complete offense since Zonk was in the backfield. Our running attack is a given. We can run the ball, this is not going to change. I think Marshall and Bess can be a more physical version of Moss and Welker for us. Feed these guys, and the ball is going to move. It's as simple as that. The defense has potential this year. Potential isn't comforting enough for me. I'll be excited when I see Starks, Soliai, Misi, Wake, and Dansby in the backfield on every other play. I'll be excited when teams decide its not worth the risk of throwing to Vontae's side of the field. I'll be excited when SS24 is dancing in the endzone for the first time. All of these things are expected. Nolan offers change and a new mindset. If our defense makes plays for us, we will get a first round bye. If they don't, we'll probably be a wildcard team. This is also year thr33 for Tony Sparano. I've been watching his daily press conferences, and I've been impressed with him. This could be his breakout season, so to speak. He seems to really get it now. He sets the bar for the team. As a leader, people look to you to gauge what is expected of them. Feed the wolf is a great idea. It's a great way to get players to realize the importance of daily progress and how it translates into growing as a player. If everyone feeds the wolf, this team will win a championship. This team is full of Sparano's kind of guys. These guys will punch you in the mouth, run you over and maul your best friends sister. Our oline is a pack of maulers. Our dline are maulers. Vontae and Bell are maulers. Marshall and bess are maulers. Ricky and Ronnie are maulers. Fasano and Polite are maulers. Hell, I bet Dan Carpenter could give someone the business if need be. Sparano, Ireland, and Parcells have a very tough bunch of players. Our roster has transformed from Swiss cheese into Cheddar. I'm starving! Feed the wolf!!!!
You just got me pumped up! As if watching the PC's and such weren't enough. Damn, are we in Buffalo yet?
This is the first year where we finally get to see what a Parcells team starts to look like. Big, physical, both sides of the ball and with crazy depth. One more year of offseason moves and we'll have the complete team and we become favorites to challenge for the Super Bowl but quite frankly, if we stay injury free and get hot at the right time we could challenge this year. just need things to break right for us and certain players to step up (Misi, Clemons, Odrick, Henne and someone at KR and PR)
Concerns to me is kickoff returner and our Def i have big hopes for the D turning things up a notch this year but who are we going to see returning the ball? Im with you tho can't wait!!!
This offense could be the biggest nightmare DC's have had to plan for in years.....I'm as excited as lucky at a donkey show
Gish, what is the purpose of spelling three, "thr33?" I figured that there was some sort of insight or crytpic meaning. I came away f33ling disapp0inted and d3pr3ssed.
OWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! OWOOO OWOOO OWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! HELL YEAH BABY!!!....70 THOUSAND FANS HOWLING...excellent idea by the coaches..iam gonna howl my *** off in that stadium.I hope ya'll do to... GISH, that thread was not long enough damn it.
how you gonna write a thread like that and expect me not to howl..... Piss off Gish OWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!.....lol
we've got the potential to launch a new NFL era in 2010 the parcelian design could set the pace for a decade however we will need some luck this year given the breaks, no end to how far the team can go should temper expectations w/ the reality this is the first season we bring everything together I believe we will contend in 2010 prevailing unto the SuperBowl with luck -------> i applaud your cr333ativity mr. gish, 666inally!
Not an excuse, but there may be a "reason" the offense doesn't quite live up to your/others expectations. Last year we played a who's who on offense...Colts, Saints, Chargers, Falcons...teams that had great TEs that allowed for our weakest area was exposed, covering the TE. This year we play a who's who on defense. We have "7" games against teams that finished in the TOP 6 in overall defense last year... 1. Jets (2) 2. Packers 3. Ravens 4. Bengals 5. Steelers 6. Vikings We play "8" games against teams that finished in the TOP 8 in pass defense and 12 games against teams that finished in the top half of the league... 1. Jets (2) 2. Bills (2) 5. Packers 6. Bengals 7. Raiders 8. Ravens We play "7" games against teams that finished in the TOP 8 in rush defense and 10 games against teams that finished in the TOP 13... 1. Packers 2. Vikings 3. Steelers 5. Ravens 7. Bengals 8. Jets (2) 10. Titans 13. Patriots (2) We will also be playing 6 of our 8 road games against teams that made the playoffs last year. The combined HOME record for those teams was 40-8. I absolutely agree that Miami's offense will be better given Henne will be more experienced, the addition of Marshall, stability on the interior OL (hopefully), and Hartline/Bess further developing. But given the schedule there will probably be weeks fans are screaming WTF happened to the offense. The answer will be "nothing" other than having to go up against a really good defense, again.
