This kid is a real beast and even has the attitude to be a great NT. I think what Parcells does best is increase the competition at each position so that he not only gets better players, but he lets everyone on the team know that they are one paycheck away from working at Walmart.

Aside from his attitude what I like best of all is that he is a cold weather guy so when we go up north in the snow he won't care at all. He won't be distracted by snow flakes, he'll just wanna play. I can't believe he went un-drafted.

The kid has the size, and says all the right things, but why did he not get drafted? Being undrafted doesn't mean you can't become a good-great player, I'm just curious what his perceived weaknesses were that kept him off draft boards?

Well, to be fair, Jason Ferguson wasn't drafted until the seventh round.

Not sure what his percieved weaknesses were, but I did see some history of injury in the 2007, 2008 and 2010 season. Did not see any information about the 2009 season.

Wow, 3 guys from Maryland, 3 guys from Utah...all on defense (what are the odds).

I pictured Ivey as a white boy as Travis is a country singer name.

The door just inched it's way open with Ferguson retiring. Will Ivey be good enough to get his foot in?

Details on Ivey are a little sketchy. There is a lot of stuff out there but there is also a lot of stuff missing as well. I looked around and couldn't even find career highlights online and I really wanted to see them. (If anyone can find them please post them.)

Sometimes players don't get drafted because their position class is abnormally large and the demand at their position that year is very small. It is nothing more than a supply and demand issue. I don't look at it that there was something wrong with him, I look at it that they were really deep at NT's that year. Coming up for the draft behind Cody, and Williams was a pretty tall order.

Ferguson was a tremendous run stopper for us I was really pissed because I didn't think there was anyone behind him that could fill his shoes. I am starting to feel better than I felt yesterday, and hey, ya never know who they could pick up as teams cut their rosters down either. I have to give them a lot of credit for the way they are beefing up our lines on both sides of the ball.

Out with the old and in with the new.

Lets hope he turns out to be a "diamond in the rough" for us.

Every now and then someone (like Devon Bess) falls through the cracks of the draft and ends up on someone's roster being a superstar. That could very well happen here. Lets hope.

Hmm..DBess, Lou Polite, Cam Wake, Ireland and Co. make a habit of finding such diamonds in the rough.

BTW..CJ...are you developing a mancrush on Travis Ivey?:wink2:

He looks like another great prospect to add to your list. I am staying positive and looking toward the future. Off topic for a minute, I am very impressed with how we have beefed up the O-line. These guys are real bad asses. Henne should have all day to throw the ball this year.

I know what you mean; but lets not discount the possibility that as teams trim down their rosters solid talent at FS could be available, and may become Dolphins. What I like best about this regimes style is how they address the talent acquiring process.

I have been critical of our FO in the past but one thing no one could accuse them of is being lazy. The guys really work hard. Most teams just look for talent before the draft but these guys do it year round, and they seem to be very good at it. I'll betcha the talent we start off with will not be the talent that we end up with.

Ivey is probably a part of the reason the FO wasn't begging and pleading with Fergie to hang out for 1 more year ....
