    Not going to be easy to sell a $25 million dollar home in Akron, Ohio without raising some eyebrows. Easier to sweep that under the rug in LA or NY.

    Monta Ellis is a fun and gun player. Jefferson you can win with but his health is a huge question. If Bosh wouldnt come there I think the alternative would be to go get Al Jefferson and to still try and get two from Williams/Paul/Howard/Melo next year

    Beasley and Chalmers were scheduled to play summer league this year.

    BOTH were notified today that they will be pulled back from the Heat roster for S-League.

    I think Sec alluded to this the other day - but it seems Wade and Bron are in a tug-of-war over Bosh. Just my opinion, but it seems like Bosh is trying to get LeBron out of Cleveland. Wonder if he is waiting on Bron before committing to Wade in Miami.

    Depends on who was doing the buying..if they chose to do so, they could simply "buy" it and then lease it back to LJ..

    Because none, and I do mean none, of the paid media that covers the NBA knows what is happening behind the scenes:

    -LJ going to knicks or chi, no one else can afford them.

    -AMazing..the Heat DO have the cap space, they can sign all 3!

    -Wade goes to Chi, the Heat may get frozen out from all 3!

    -Wade loves his children setting the stage to bolt Miami and sign in Chi!

    Those whole FA period is bordering on the absurd Sect, the networks just find some flunkie to go on air and talk a bunch of crap based on nothing at all, and the story is treated as "insider info".

    Though I do suspect Bosh really does want the MAX, could be his only 100 million dollar payday in his career as endorsement money just isn't there for him.

    Saw this earlier. I know for a fact that Chalmers agreed to play in the summer league and Beasley was personally asked to.... so this might mean something significant.

    Remember the VERY FIRST rumor of free agency; Beasley/Chalmers/Joel for Bosh.

    Not so at all, the vast majority of retail stores do that exact same thing, for example publix pays to build a store, then sells it to a leasing company and leases it back.

    Home purchases are made public (trust me, the stack of junk mail I get everyday proves it). The sale would be public and the fact that LeBron was still living there would be obvious as he sticks out quite a bit. I know I have people on my Twitter and at my work who are his neighbors - think it would be noticed.

    I don't think much of Bucher's sources - but I sent him a Tweet the other day and he responded with a personal message. Thought it was cool that he took the time with all the craziness going around.

    Wouldn't matter, the same sort of thing happens with private jets all the time.

    Besides, he would more than likely sell it outright and leave the area as the key here more or less is boost the contract into MAX levels without the cap hit or restrictions.

    No. You just described a pay-improve agreement where you then lease a building you improve for a long period of time. usually 15 to 20 years. All years guaranteed.

    What you described earlier was the most common money laundering scheme that ran rampant here in miami in the 80's.

    Just a heads up: Almost every time I've @'ed Adam Shefter he's responded to me via DM.

    Since everyone loves him.... you guys now know he's reachable!

    Bucher didn't respond to my 10-15 tweets directed at him though. And I don't blame him (not TOS friendly). :lol:

    Exactly, and no way I'd ever suggest money laundering as a backdoor way to bump up a contract, all I'm suggesting is a extra contractual pre sale of the home to a third party..which the NBA may not like, however players sell their homes all the time when they leave a team..what is the NBA going to do ban them from doing so?

    Money laundering scheme:

    Drug Dealer gives business person the means to purchase the home of the drug dealers choice.

    Business person then leases home after purchase to Drug Dealer.

    Business person is the "pigeon" who pays for the real estate taxes with cash from the Drug Dealer..takes care of everything...etc...

    When Drug Dealer gets audited (in this case it is an NBA player that gets audited every year) the scheme is discovered.

    it is also a popular scheme for tax evaders. You go to jail for that? lol

    Well, one thing is certain, Beas would be "the man" for better or worse..which is either awful or intriguing depending on how one feels about Beas.

    I'd guess they'd have to add Boozer, Felton, and?

    Legit business practice:

    Company builds Gulfstream, then sells it to leasing company, who in turn then sells time shares for usage of the Jet, the manufacturing receives it's cash back, the leasing company makes money off of the float between paying for the jet and the amount of time shares they can sell.

    And your drug dealer has alot more problems than a Audit Sect..typically they roll over on everyone they did business with and THOSE folks get hit with money laundering, conspiracy, fraud charges..without ever seeing a gram of drugs.

    Real Property is a different animal.

    You record taxes and fees paid on the mortgage, the deed, and the sale. If there is a management company in the neighborhood, you have to register all tenants.

    One of my former lives padre..I was a real estate hustler. It is hard to buck the law in that field.

    It's tricky padre. you are dancing on the edge of illegality.

    In Mortgage agreements there are some clauses that say that bank has the right to buy back the mortgage and call it in if any fraud was committed in obtaining it.

    If the pigeon pays cash, it is recorded and the taxes to be paid are not "lite" in any sense.

    Too much of a paper trail, and too many people interested in it will uncover the scheme.

    Remember that the pigeon will have the property in his name. Does he own any other property? You would be screaming for an IRS audit to explain how you came up with the 25 mil.
