Tell us who it is! I have to go with Saban.

EVen though I believe that we would have won a Super Bowl with him, I am still glad he is gone. He is a worthless lying sack of s***.

Dave Wannstedt wins this HANDS DOWN.

He took a team on the verge of being a true championship contender and slowly eroded the team down into a complete shell of a franchise.

His ineptness, the length of time the franchise had to suffer under him and the immense damage he did to the roster makes him a no brainer.

I would actually put Tom Olivadotti at number 2 over Cameron or Saban.
Again, here is a guy that was so bad at what he did he literally sabatoged what was a championship caliber team.

I guess if you voted on personality you'd have to vote Saban but I'm more inclined to go with those that really damaged our franchise. Saban and Cameron didn't have enought time to muck things up and they were already so screwed up by Wanny that it didn't matter what they did anyway.

Wannstedt, simply because his incompetence eventually gave rise to Saban and CamMul.

No Wannstedt, no Saban. No Saban, no CamMul. Simple as that.

Wasn't crazy about Jimmy Johnson. Built an overrated defense, ruined the rest of Marino's career, forced the running game down our throats with mediocre garbage running backs, 62-7, and most importantly brought in Wanny to start the whole downfall.

Jimmy Johnson. I hated him at UM, I hated him at Dallas and I hated him at The Dolphins. By the time he and Marino retired I had been on a 2 year boycott of Miami football. I can not stomach this guy even today. I hate this guy worse than anybody ever in football.

JIMMY JOHNSON! He took over and never gave any respect to Shula, and most important totally sabotaged Marino's final few yrs.

I can't hate a guy for being inept, so, I can't hate Dave Wannestedt. I just can't have one ounce of hate for a guy that gives it his all, yet comes up short.

8 yrs of bad drafts and bad FA moves puts Wannstache immediately to the top of the most hated former Fins...No questions, no debate, definitely and permanently...

Saban quit on us and that's indefensible. He also left the cupboard bare as well, but he followed Wanny and really didn't have anything to begin with. However, his span of ineptitude was only 2 yrs.

Cam-Cam simply wasn't ready for a HC job. Great OC, but just not ready for prime time when he came to us...

I hate Wannstadt for what he did to our franchise, not for his effort or lack of effort. Saban showed a lot of effort as did Cam, so that's not a question....what is, is how badly they left this team...Wanny wins hands down from that perspective...

100% behind everybody that said Jimmy Johnson he put a greasy thumbprint on the fabric of this team's history in his treatment of Shula & Marino.

if that dickhole had let Marino do what he did best we could have had some phenomenal success in that era due to the defense we had at the time.

Wanny didn't come up short. He buried us with his horrid personnel decisions. We are still digging out of that hole to this day. Wanny wasn't as bad as a head coach as everyone thinks but his gm abilities were the worst.
    I miss his I don't get it look. :wink2:

Taking away the ability to audible from possibly the best QB ever.
That was an ego move if we ever saw one.
JJ wanted all the glory and the power.

How is Wannstedt getting votes? Despite being a horrible GM he racked up 4 out of 5 winning seasons and 2 playoff appearances. He was also coach during our last playoff victory. He allowed our roster to deteriorate due to horrible drafts and other questionable moves, but he was not a horrible coach. He gave us his best on the field till the day he was fired. He surely doesn't belong on the list of Dolphin greats, but I don't think he's deserving of hatred. On the list, Saban is the most hatable. But after some time to think about it, I'll go with other and select Tom Olividatti (sp?). If we had any semblance of a defense during Marino's prime a couple of Superbowls would have been all but guaranteed.

If you're just asking a general question.. then I'd have to mention the name Sammie Smith.

Personally, Jimmie Johnson should never, never, never, never have been invited to be the Miami Dolphins head coach. Not only is he over-rated and has an extremely elevated estimation of his own value, but without a blockbuster deal of two complete drafts (almost) in one year, he could not rebuild a team that had a lot of strength left in it. Not only that, he ruined the end of Marino's career, and foisted off Wannstedt on the universe by his recommendation to Wayne.

Now, I don't hate him, and could perhaps be persuaded to throw him a life line if he were drowning. But beyond that, I wouldn't cross the street to spit in his shadow.

I made my vote for Cam. He was here only one year, but that resulted in our worst record in franchise history. That alone should make him the target. And don't say the record wasn't his fault, because he's the one that ran the soft camp that lead to all the injuries, lacked leadership abillities, and made the ill advised decision to bite off more than he can chew during his first season as head coach.

Then, this is where we disagree. Wannestedt didn't willfully ruin our franchise, neither did he half-*** his job. The guy was obviously a capable coordinator... he just wasn't an NFL head coach. I'm as disappointed with the outcome as anyone... but, I'm not going to hate another person over something like that.

Saban treated people like garbage, he is a liar, and he is a quitter. IMO, it is not even remotely the same thing.

I don't hate Cameron. I just don't think he was a very good head coach.

Maybe it's just me, however, when it comes to whether or not I hate a guy... there's more to it than just wins/losses. 'Hate' is a pretty strong word. I hate dishonest people... I hate bullies... I hate laziness. I can't hate someone for simply making dumb decisions. Again... that's just my opinion.

Boy... am I ready for camp to freaking start...

For me it is a mix:

-I really did despise Wanny, seriously, that encephelitic moron basically killed my Dolfandom, there are not enough invectives to emote what I really think of his job in Miami (which is different from Wanny the person)

-Lil' Nicky-a bully in the truest sense, lacking in character with a inflated self opinion, he is what is bad in football imho, "you sacrifice, you show character, you work insanely hard, me lie and run away".

-Jimmy Johnson, but this is love/hate, loved JJ the GM, loved his philosophies, hated his lack of vision and character

Funny thing is, all 3 ran away, think about it:

JJ "retired' then came back for one more season
    Wanny quit midseason
Lil Nicky quit in the offseason after lying to everyone

I'd guess I like toughness and fiber in a Head Coach.

BTW, I cannot hate Cam Cameron and his 1-15 record, Wayne H reached for him and he was clearly in waaay over his head, he wasn't lacking in character, he was just out of his League.

Is this just for shock value, or is he really your favorite coach? Are you an Alabama fan, or alumn? If that's the case, I can understand you being a fan. Other than that, I have a hard time understanding why a man that decimated and deserted our football team could really be your favorite coach.

    1) Tom Olivadotti -If any of you youngsters witnessed some the D calls he made, you would understand. Prevent defense? LMAO!

    2)Saban-Yep....

3)Wes Welker- The comments he made will forever burn inside of me.I'm sure he felt this way.He should of shut his mouth about it.

    4) Whomever is responsible for doing what they did to Zach. You need to have more class, man!

5)Don Shula-Not the person or coach of course. But for him not recognizing he needed a RB during Marino's tenure, when EVER DOLPHIN FAN knew this at the time. What are we talking here,a DECADE?(please don't bring up all the RB busts either)

    6) TD- He didn't give my daughter an autograph a long time ago. I WILL find out who you are !

He's really my favorite coach. I wish I was an Alabama alum, lol, I just finished high school. I'm a Canes fan but I do enjoy watching Saban's Alabama team play. The reason he's my favorite coach is the X's and O's aspect of the game. I'm more of a general football fan than a Dolphins fan so there are some coaches and players I don't mind. For example, I'm also a big fan of Belichick even though he's a damn Patriot and I root against him all the time. Going back to Saban, I listen to his radio talk show and read just about everything I can because he's about as bright of a defensive mind I've seen.

    John Beck?

    Jay Fiedler?

    Ray Lucas?

Those were definitely the most polarizing people.

How about Kippy Brown or Tom Olivadotti?

Not a horrible coach? Remember the most predictable offense and defense in the NFL at the time? Remember "it's no sin to punt?" Remember playing not to lose? Remember Fletcher? Remember EDDIE FREAKING MOORE? Remember the man crush on Jay "noodle arm" Fiedler? Remember giving up a second round pick for AJ Feeley? NOT A BAD COACH?

Thanks. I needed to get that off my chest, "from a Wannstedt standpoint."

No way I could vote for anyone else, Satan was a lousy NFL coach, his players hated him, his drafts weren't very good, and he gets the award for all time biggest weasel while having the biggest ego I've ever seen, right next to Jimmy Johnson.

I won't knock his defensive genius, nor his abilities to coach at the college level, these are facts that cannot be denied. But his "coonass" and other constant comments of idiocy combined with his inability to tell the truth under any circumstance make him one of the most despicable men in public view. JMO

I'm not disagreeing with you at all. Wanny was horrible.

But how in the hell did those teams make the playoffs? Fiedler and Lamar Smith took us to the second round for god's sake. Why haven't our teams with superior talent been able to do the same? How did Wanny over-achieve?

(And for the record - I was, and am, a Fiedler fan. Guy gave 110% with limited talent. He found ways to win. Shame on the FO for not finding a better option but Fiedler was fun to watch for his hard-nosed, creative style. A style that would have been even more fun to cheer for had he been our back-up QB.)

Wanny was a players coach. He had a knack for getting guys to step up and play for him. He gets a bad rap in the coaching area. As a talent evaluator the guy was pure garbage that is why he was horrible when he was in the GM role. There is a difference. Sure he made some poor decisions as a coach but that was his strong suit in Miami.

Tom Olivadotti and Rick Spinman probably deserve to be included in the poll .

Olivadotti was partially responsible for Don Shula's downfall.Spinman made a bad situation worse .

Wanny was incompetent but he set the team back several years.Saban really takes the cake for displaying a lack of character .

In Wanny's defense as a GM, when people point to Anquan Boldin being passed over, people just forget that they had just traded for David Boston, he broke his leg then went all to hell over the next two seasons.

Wanny's incompetence did lead to Ogunleye beign given away for peanuts due to cap reasons, and Wanny's stubborness led to Ricky Williams going all to hell as well.

There is a reason for the copyrighted "Wanny is Clueless" look.

I have to go with Wanny. He gave us a few good years as a run only team, but he left us in a real hole with talent. He was NEVER creative in game planning. How do you game plan for the first game of the year, meaning you have WEEKS to prepare, but NOT SPEND ANY TIME preparing for the blitz...I am talking about the Minny game. They blitzed ALL GAME LONG, and we NEVER adjusted.
Sammy Smith is my close second. I was at the 'SAMMY SUCKS' game, and it was my first time to ever attend one. I was also in the stands, over the end zone, that he fumbled in. I didnt participate in the CHANT, but MAN was I bummed.

Cameron was the only coach that truly rubbed me the wrong way. His mannerisms, the way he spoke and the words he chose all irked me. He reminds me of every aspect of corporate douchiness...That said, I have a lot of respect for him as an offensive coordinator.

I'd have to say Tom Olivadati. He was the most inept coach ever to wear dolphin aqua and orange. Couldnt stand the look of astonishment on his face every time a division rival ran the ball down our throats during Marino's prime. We missed a few AFC championships and quite possibly a couple of super bowls because of of him. We had a great offense and a terrible defense during his tenure. Couldn't understand Shula's loyalty to the guy

What team has a top 5 defense (that held the best offense in the league that year to less than 40 YDS in the first half) and the best RB in football and doesnt EVEN MAKE THE PLAYOFFS! Thanks Ray, I wouldve never thought I would miss Jay Fiedler until your sorry *** took the field.
