The ref did a Sh*tty job the whole game, but the one that takes away a WIN is the worst. The Dempsey elbow should have been a yellow yes, but there were other calls against the US as well. There were definitely worse calls against the US, but there were a few bad ones against Slovenia as well. However that elbow didn't decide a game.
Bocanegra? He SAID EDU. He said the foul was on EDU. EDU wears 19. Big difference between 3 and 19. had he said the foul was on #3..that would be different. But he didn't. he made up a foul that didn't exist.
No I'm from Mali like my uncle, the ref. You can pontificate all you like about where I come from (the country that invented the game) and yes I saw the game. The facts - and that's the key - is that: A) the ref clearly blows the whistle well before the ball gets to Edu. B) you can hear the whistle before Edu makes contact with the ball. You can complain all you like about blown 'calls' but take Clint Dempsey. I've seen people sent off for less than that. That's the game.
Who said? Has the ref come out and said that? Genuinely don't know as I'm sitting here waiting for us to start. But they just showed it again from 3 different angles and Bocanegra pulls his man to the floor right in front of the ref.
The Official said foul on #19 postgame. So he saw #19 foul..evidently he gave the back of the net a bruise. smells like bull****.
Ah interesting as I didn't see Edu foul anyone. Now it may be my mistake but were there not two black American players attacking that free kick? Wonder if it was mistaken identity. Regardless, games aren't fixed and this stuff evens itself out. Last week Rob Green throws you a free one, this week Mr Mali taketh away. Unfortunetely when you rely on 1 man to have 22 pairs of eyes, mistakes can happen. I've reffed games before and at corners and free kicks, there's so much happening, so much pushing and pulling and grabbing. And having played semi pro for 8 seasons, the stuff that goes on in the box is remarkable.
OKAY..here is the play..it is in the final 30 seconds of the Vid. Nobody takes anybody down. Where did you see Bocanegra take somebody down? Boom? you have a better video?
We were robbed. No sugarcoating is change the fact. I've paid for a dinner and a movie and gotten less action that Bradley on that play. I still don't see a foul on a US player. It's also ironic that a foul was called on EVERY SINGLE SET PLAY from the US. A clear advantage for them with the size, negated every time. Oh well, we'll beat Algeria and England will beat Slovenia and we're in. And Boom, if you guys lose to Slovenia, or draw, we're gonna burn down London Bridge.
How did I know you weren't from the US? You and the other guy are the only ones taking the other side. And if you want to try and insult me, you need to try harder.
I'm on my phone now Sect, but ITV who are doing the coverage here showed an angle and what looked like #3 or whoever your skipper was is pulling someone to the floor in the middle of the penalty area, just down from the spot. Again, I don't know if that's what he saw but if he WAS looking at that, then I can understand and he had hold of him for a long time.
I did see a couple USA players being held by Slovenian players, which could have easily been fouls on them as well.
All you had to do was look at the bit that says location. Oh and I'm not insulting you. I'm giving you facts.
There was a LOT of holding going on in there. But the ref has one set of eyes and can't see it all. If, pre free kick, he's watching two players pushing and shoving and jostling as WILL have been happening, he may follow it through the flight of the ball. I suspect that's exactly what happened.
Robert Green dropped LOL. Like the addition of Barry though, midfield should be more balanced tonight.
Not really. They went up for the ball, the only thing they could have called was it was too high, but blatant is a huge stretch.
Yeah, will allow Gerrard to play more freely, albeit from the left. That's the problem with being so good and so versatile.
Actually it doesn't show your location. I think it's ironic how the ONLY person who doesn't think it was bull**** is not from the US. The foreign commentators ALL agreed that it was a ridiculous call. I guess you are more knowledgeable about the game than they are. Right?
Stringer's from the US. He agrees with me. Take your rose coloured specs off and watch. Oh and it says 'London'. Capital of Mali.
Oh and here I am, on an American website for a decade amongst people I've known for 15 years and what, I'm anti American? Yeah. Course I am.
Osama Bin laden The French Boomer The Axis of evil. I do take solace in that we blew that game in the first half.....really. Like not being too upset at coming up short when you are down 4 touchdowns. But I still think that we got robbed of pulling that turd out of the toilet.
FLMAO at your axis of evil!!! Listen, when England find a way to **** this up, I'll be moaning with you!
The call was that Bradley was offside, which he clearly wasn't. He was also being held on the play. So Boomer you agree that he was offside huh? It was a good call in your eyes?
I'm at work and unable to watch the game, when I leave for lunch i'll be catching it in it's entirety... on DVR... I will tell you that my excitement as an English born fan is off the charts... It's more than a Dolphins' game. Not sure why that is. I would only compare it to a Dolphins' playoff game vs a regular season game.
