Is it just me, or are our defenders playing at a snail's pace. They're not even trying to close in; very Girbil-ish. OMG Better passes ffs
defensive breakdowns in the early going are disastrous. it makes me question if we have top-level coaching now 2-0 after we had multiple chances. jeez....
awful.....not crisp, sloppy passes, weak runs, dump balls..... USA is still behind the times on the world stage....unfortunately..
Wow, Slovenia have come to play big time. There passing up front and in midfield has been very impressive and they are playing very well on the counter. This is a completely different team than the one that was poor against Algeria. Just when it looked as if the US would get into this and had a good spell where they created some good chances, Slovenia hit them on the brek to make it two nil. US need to dig very deep to get back in this one. Need to really thro everything they can at them. Put three up front and really increase the tempo of the game. Otherwise there World Cup is over.
i dont expect world class creativity and technical skill, but given the fact that we can at least field very good athletes, i think i have the right to expect that if a team can stay disciplined and find their man on defense
The back line has been crap for months....and it continues. You get to the world cup and then decide to leave people UNMARKED. Hello! There is a big white man in a white uniform standing right next to you. Then of course...we camp out in there box for what it seems like an eternity, and we can;t get a goal when Slovenia was BEGGING us to put one in on them. Chrenudolo can't run all of a sudden..Gooch seems alot slower than before his injury...Demerit had his moments in the England game, but has been terrible today...and Bocanegra...LOL...IS he even playing? We have Landon Donovan...Clint Dempsey...a Good keeper and just a bunch of guys... Bradley needs to be fired. Even if we score 56 goals in the second half. The SAME breakdowns for almost 2 years running?
I saw none of that. I saw a guy standing all alone unmarked. This is not 1994. This US team is a top 15 soccer nation and is capable. This is mental.
Look at both nation's results for the last 4 years. Yes...the US was that big a favorite. and this is that big an upset.
Americans..playing with more passion now. This is it, 40 minutes of World Cup for them...it's up to them to shake their nerves off and play the game they.....love?
What a ****ing bull**** call....Bradley being held the while time too....sickening Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Slovenia's 2nd goal looked offside so one could say it should be 3-1. One of the worst officiated games I have seen in quite a while.
I thought the Slovenian 2nd goal was onside but the disallowed goal was a disgrace. Looked like the US should have had two penalties for fouls going on at the time of the goal, quite apart from the goal. But this works nicely for England.
It wasn't offside according to the commentators. They looked at it and it didn't look offside to me either. Agree on bad officiating though, that was awful. Slovenia's backline collapsed, which doesnt' surprise me. They were weak up the middle as well. The American commentator was biased IMO. A lot of "WTF" comments from him, IMO.
Very much so. I could honestly care less about either of these teams but it made me root for Slovenia. I was pretty disgusted by the commentary throughout. I thought ESPN was an unbiased network?
Agreed. I was rooting for Slovenia because they are ex-Yugo but even if they lost, it was whatever to me. However, the commentating was rough, about as rough as that referee.
The first yellow wasn't a yellow but to be fair to the ref, he indicated that it had been for persistent fouling and pointed to the other areas on the pitch where he'd commited fouls. The 2nd yellow was fully justified and stupid on Klose's part because he knew he was already on a card.
Someone please educate the ignorant, namely me- is there a point in a soccer match when a player can legally wrap his arms around an opposing player to impede his movement and function? Did I not see that happen to multiple US players on the disallowed goal at 2-2? That looked a bit ludicrous.
You can't wrap your arms around players, no. That should have been a goal for the US to take the lead. If not a goal then at worst a foul. Whatever the call was made, which was never clarified IMO, was nonexistant.
and YOU did? The line was right...you bought it and lost. +260 for a reason. They were begging for people to bet Slovenia. Yes...we got screwed by the Ref...but we should not have needed that goal. We should have put in 5 against them. Slovenia is terrible, but so is our back line...so it evens out.
