I was thinking that when I finally saw him come in, in the 2nd half. I was like, where has he been? But to be honest, I'm not sure that would have been a factor. The Magic lost b/c they just couldnt hit a shot to save their lives...
And if they rotate Kobe onto Rondo, who does Fisher guard? Ray Allen I'd think, and Allen can work Fisher inside and outside. But Allen is streaky, so it is not the win it would appear to be on paper. Odom on Pierce? The Matchups do not favor the Lakers in this one, they are essentially the same team that the Celts worked in 08, only the Lakers added Artest, the Celtics added (so to speak) Rondo as well as Robertson and Wallace. Celts go 3 deep on Bigs who can play, the Lakers have two good bigs in Gasol and Odom, and a wildly inconsistent Bynum.
Kobe will not guard Allen. Ray Allen runs too many screens and they need Kobe to stay fresh. Artest will guard Pierce. The bigs stay with the bigs. it really shakes out to be Kobe staying at the top of the key on Rondo, and Fisher runs the screens and gets gassed.
Baas could have provided a spark. Lewis and Carter weren't doing much. I think Magic's rotation was pretty bad.
Maybe... but again, I dont think energy was the issue. Guys missing wide open shots were. Not sure if Bass would have helped that...
When they were handing the Eastern Conference trophy I think it was Ainge they were talking to and that was his quote.
As long as that douche doesn't include his streaky shooting *** in that group, then whatever... I hate players like Granger... when his jumper is off he's completely useless. He really has no business making a statement like that.
LMFAO... keep telling yourself that. Not like your opinion really matters, though. You were 13 years old when you watched that series. The irony in this post is hilarious. It was the refs that kept you alive in this series. Enjoy life as a fan of a basketball team that will never win a championship in your lifetime. Your franchise will always be remembered as "the team that drafted Shaquille O'Neal"
My opinion doesn't matter? So, doesn't that mean your opinion doesn't matter, either? Look, if you want to complain about Orlando receiving all the calls in game 5, then don't be a hypocrite. You know the refs were on the Heats side that series, whether you want to admit it or not.
Why are you talking when the REFS gave you that ring? As long as Dwight Howard is a Magic, we will have a shot at a ring. It's that simple. Big men win rings, and he's one of the few dominate ones remaining.
ONCE AGAIN... keep telling yourself that. I hope it makes you sleep better tonight, tomorrow night, and this time next year if you even make it this far. It hasn't happened yet, so there's no reason to believe that it will. Dwight Howard is not in the same class as Shaq, Tim Duncan, and other "dominant" bigs who led their team to numerous titles. He's only consistent on one end of the floor. I'm sorry to break the bad news to you, but you were bound to hear it one way or another... everyone else knows it. God it feels good to be a fan of a CHAMPIONSHIP ORGANIZATION. Don't you wish you could say the same?
About as many times as I feel like adding something to my post... the button doesn't have an expiration date.
Right. He makes a post like that, then starts shouting about how the refs handed the Heat a championship... full of irony.
We'll see, I guess. Obviously, I see the potential in Dwight Howard to lead this team to a ring. And it's not as crazy as you make it seem. In fact, everyone believes he has the potential to do it. Only you don't, for some reason...
No, what's Ironic is how you complain about the refs, when they're the only reason you have a ring. And it's funny because, you were taking it so personel, as if the refs were going against the Heat. You really overreacted that day.
????? I always overreact when it comes to sports. That's a part of being a fan of not only the Miami Heat, but the game of basketball in general. I'm very passionate when it comes to sports. I think most people on here know that by now. But I was NOT overreacting that night. Although you probably won't, go check out the game thread on RealGM's general board. Aside from Magic fans, every single poster (aside from the rare few) was going nuts that entire game... and most people on that forum HATE the Boston Celtics. That was easily the most rigged game I've ever seen in my lifetime of watching basketball. Yes, worse than Game 5 of the 2006 before you jump to that statement. And I'm sorry you feel that way, but the reason Miami has a championship banner hanging at the Triple-A is because Dwyane Wade put forth the GREATEST individual NBA Finals performance in NBA history, and role players like UD, Zo, Posey, etc. were great all series long defensively, and hit the timely shots necessary to win basketball games. Pat Riley was as genius as he always has been and always will be. That's why. Not the refs.
No, I agree with everyone that said that game was horrible officiating. It was. But, you started flipping out and wanted Orlando to lose by 20+. That made no sense. The players didn't do anything. It was the referees fault, yet you wanted Orlando to pay for it.
I edited that post again... added another piece... again. But that's just how I feel. No need to get upset about it. I don't take it out against the players, but I also don't feel like the players deserved the superior treatment, thus the reason for wanting to see them smashed in the next game. Look, players like Wade, LeBron, Kobe, Melo, etc. (Michael Jordan got the treatment the most!) are going to get superstar calls, especially in the playoffs, and maybe they deserve it... who knows. That's another discussion. But when I see an ENTIRE TEAM getting calls like that, and the opposition being ejected for bull**** (which the NBA admitted by removing one of Perkins' technical fouls)... of course I'm going to react the way I did.
You kind of lost that ability when you made this statement: You are in no place to down talk Miami's 06 title because "the refs gave it to them" But it's all good!
I don't mind the title as "Magic hater" because I really don't hate the Orlando Magic. I have no reason to. There is absolutely no bad blood between the Miami Heat and Orlando Magic. In fact, most Heat fans have been rooting for the Magic because they're a Florida team. No offense to New Yorkers, but fans down here (for better or worse) are very different... we don't hate each other. I just call it how I see it. That Game 5 really, really pissed me off. I felt cheated as a viewer. That is all.
And what were the reactions to that statemant? We won, but we didn't deserve it. Which is exactly what I'm saying. Just giving you a dose of your own medicine. No one believed Orlando should have won that game, and wouldn't have without the refs. Well, the same, IMO, can be said about the Heat.
Honestly, you're a good poster. And I don't remember calling you a Magic Hater. If I did, I apologize.
I'm a little late to the party... MOD EDIT: Leave the personal attacks out of it. First, saying the refs "gave" the Heat a ring is a completely ignorant statement. Wade put on the greatest performance in NBA Finals history. Wade wasn't "given" that ring... he took that **** and ripped it from the Mavs along with their hearts. Second, to say Dwight will "never" lead the Magic to a championship is also a pretty ignorant statement. Obviously we don't know one way or the other... but the kid is only 24 and has already taken his team to the Conference Finals twice, and the NBA Finals once. He's one of the better defensive pressences this league has seen, and his offense is consistently improving. And even with his limited arsenal, he still averages 20+ points. I think his Conference Finals average is 25 and 12? (on phone, can't confirm but it's right around that). Guy is a beast, still young, and still improving. To say you know the future regarding that bull****. There's my 2 cents on your girly argument you 2...
Whoever mod-edited my post, I wasn't really trying to personally attack them. Just kinda like you will call your friend an idiot, but not have any actual ill will in mind, that's all I was doing there. These guys know I love 'em...
It wouldn't surprise me. The suns bench has been clutch in the postseason.Dudley is playing the best ball of his career.
