We have a bunch of speedy athletes as backup WRs. - Roberto Wallace: 6'4", 223 lbs, 4.41 speed. - Marlon Moore: 6'1", 182 lbs, 4.49 speed. - Ryan Grice-Mullen: 5'11", 183 lbs, 4.36 speed. - Julius Pruitt: 6'2", 206 lbs, 4.42 speed. It's interesting that those 4 backup WRs all have faster 40 times than our 4 starting WRs (Brandon Marshall, Brian Hartline, Davone Bess, Greg Camarillo). Among those 4 backup WRs, which one do you think is most likely to develop into a star WR?
I think Ryan Grice-Mullen has the best shot because is fast and he also can return kicks witch is something that we need right now a Kick Returner
If we're talking which one is most likely to be picked for the team id go with Grice-Mullen but as far as most likely to be a star i have to go with the size of Roberto Wallace
Don't overlook Taurus Johnson: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHLsNeEUyaE"]YouTube- Taurus Johnson USF Football Career Highlights -Part 1[/ame]
I was just focusing on the faster backup WRs who ran in 4.4s or faster. And most sites seem to say Taurus ran a 4.52, and describe him as "not having elite speed", "lacks straight-line speed", and "will not be confused for a track star anytime soon".
If one of them is better than Patrick Turner, then I'm all for it. Although, I think this team can play with only 4 WRs on the 53 man roster. That will leave room for an extra LB or QB.
Some of them might be practice squad players, and may not develop until several years from now. Sort of like how Miles Austin was an undrafted free agent, who didn't become a star until his 4th year in the NFL. A lot of these raw athletes take years to develop into NFL WRs.
I think hoping for stardom is a bit ambitious. I'm hoping for any of them to see the field. I think we have a hole at #5 WR and KR/PR that could be filled by a speed guy. If I were to take a guess (and this is a WAG not an educated one) I would give the early nod to RGM.
true & he is the fastest & can play SpecialTeams also he has two banner years in the Canadian League & four years experience playing opposite Bess @ Hawaii none of which hurts his cause Ryan Grice-Mullen
Didn't Grice run a 4.46 40 at the combine?? I know his pro day he was sub 4.4 but that is hand held times which is another discussion
Julius Pruitt IMO has the best chance of making the team because he was on our practice squad last year and the coachs know him better and he knows the offense better
i like marion but i think he is with back to back ACl tears i dont think he will be playing in the NFL for a while he could still go to the CFL and work his way up to the NFL if football is what he really wants to do
