Damn Jets took the player the Colts were eyeing.

BTW if it gets to the Colts pick during the day, I won't be able to make my selection until this evening since I won't be near a computer until then.

No worries Raffy. We're making great progress so far IMO. Better than I thought we would actually. I was projecting a round a week. And, it looks like we're a little ahead of that right now.

Speaking of the second round, I'll start a new thread for the second round once I see we're close to starting it (probably after your pick Raffy). So, the round one thread will end with Saint Greg's pick...OK guys?

BTW, and just to remind everyone...please don't forget to PM the next GM in line once you've made your selection.

    Thanks guys!

My list for the Colts had Kyle Wilson, Charles Brown, M. Pouncy, Jared O'Drick at the top in an ever changing order. After that I was debating Price (who I chose) and Alualua (sp?) with Hughes in third. I liked Hughes a bit better but the need at DE was way below the need at DT. I generally prefer taking the better player but in this case I balanced fit and need in. In the end, Price just felt like a Colt-type player.

Yeah, I was targeting Hughes with the Dolphins next pick (#43). Didn't think he'd make it back to me, but was hoping so. Oh well, back to the ol' draft board.

lol. I woulda wanted him at #44 so I'm glad I didn't get teased that way only to have him taken one pick ahead of me.

Sorry but the Rams linebackers are one sorry bunch. There were some players I liked a bit more but NEED became to great to pass

Kindle's ability to rush the passer was the deciding factor for the Lions who chose to address the front 7 rather than snag a CB though WR would have been a possibility if not for the signing of Nate Burleson. Exactly what role Kindle will be asked to perform is unclear but he could be asked to bulk up and play more of a DE position.

Its a need but Kindle might be better suited to the 34 defense. I probably would have gone with Tyson Alualu from Cal.

    Great pick for the Rams.

BTW I gotta believe Tampa Bay would be ecstatic with my draft so far.

    R1 - Gerald McCoy
    R2 - Golden Tate

    Not bad.

Phil Merling was supposedly great value in the 'second' at #32 overall. Not thrilled with how that's paned out, and I feel Kindle will be aboiut as good... and they may, like Merling, try to bulk him up and play him as a down lineman.

That would be a mistake IMO. I think he needs to play out in space.

BTW, I like Merling. I still remember that pick six against the Jests to seal the win for the AFCE crown in '08. Having said that, I'm hoping for more production in the way of sacks this season from him and Langford. Hopefully, Nolan can turn both of those guys into pro bowlers.

Jim Schwartz can figure out how best to use a player like Kindle, my job is to choose who I feel is the better player at that point of the draft...with the assistance of a cheat sheet of course. :tongue2:

Hey guys, I'm just assessing my options. I'll have a pick for you in the morning. It's actually a weird pick.

All the GREAT first tier players who slipped into the second are gone, imo, but the next tier are really late second values, imo... so I'm having trouble picking someone worthy of the pick.

Great pick UCFF86! I considered him with the Dolphins pick (#43), but opted for Sapp instead. But, I was hoping Worilds would still be OTB with our next pick. Now, I'll have to consider other options instead.

    Good job.

So far, the Patriots have addressed all three major needs, but still gotten great value at their picks.

We have restocked at LB, adding OLB pass rusher Brandon Graham and versatile ILB/OLB Sean Lee to a corps which also traded for Kirk Morrison this offseason. Reloaded and ready to kick ***.

We have added the physical Arrelious Benn as the #2 wideout to complement Randy Moss and Wes Welker.

We have added great blocking and receiving Tight End Rob Gronkowski to fill that hole with some talent and upside beyond Alge Crumpler and Ben Watson.

And it's only been two rounds.
