No it's not an april fools LOL The Miami Dolphins met with Oklahoma State receiver Dez Bryant on Thursday night in "a get to know you session" that will carry over until Friday, according to league sources. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/...visits-dolphins-0402-20100401,0,3295969.story
Bill Parcells: "So are these character issues we keep hearing about true? Dez Bryant: "No sir. I haven't did anything wrong to nobody!" Bill Parcells: "Can you be on time to team meetings?" Dez Bryant: "What do this got to do with me playing football? Even if I don't get to meetings on time, what do that have to do with me playing football? I don't think it has anything to do with me playing football."
I'm very glad they're checking out all of their options carefully. If Bryant is drafted, it will be because he impressed the staff. If he's not, it will be because there were too many red flags that the staff saw. Either way, I'll be okay with the decision. Well, unless they really mess up the pick...
I facepalmed. Amazing how being late to one meeting as a freshman suddenly turns Dez Bryant into Fred "I overslept" Davis.
Relax, I'm just messing around. The debate with Dez has been tiresome. I'm just trying to lighten it up a bit.
Sergio Kindle next week. Thats the one I'm interested in. Hopefully Jerry Hughes comes to town in the next tow weeks. Leave the linebackers for last
Receiver Dez Bryant meets with Miami Dolphins The Miami Dolphins met with Oklahoma State receiver Dez Bryant on Thursday night in "a get to know you session" that will carry over until Friday, according to league sources. The Dolphins, who pick 12th in the first round, could use a dynamic player such as Bryant, who is viewed by most evaluators as the draft's top receiver. Not sure why every one is on this guys back. there are more people slandering him than guys who drove cars into buldings, fell asleep at intersections, tested positive for marijauna, didnt make plays in college etc. I'd rather have Earl Thomas, but Dez is 1a.
I'm saving a bottle of Stolichnaya for the draft. It'll be about halfway gone by the time our pick rolls around. Depending on who we pick, the other half will disappear instantly.
I trust that the Tuna and Ireland/Sparano will whittle down the top guys and make the best decision based on needs and who is available. Whoever it is I will support the decision and hope most of our picks pan out. We all have guys we really want, but many times the guy we want most gets scooped up. There always is the option to trade down if the guy we want is gone, or if other teams make us a great offer to move up. I can't wait for the draft...three more weeks!!!!
Man I sure would like to see him someone with some spark attitude and skills at the wideout position. I wouldn't mind a little drama if he can play in the NFL look we got a guy there now that has no drama, and no skills except for being fast enough to never get open.. just saying..
Sorry but I disagree, I think adding some humor and good natured banter actually keeps things from getting hostile and insulting. Take Adamprez and myself for instance.....we argue on here nearly EVERY DAY. Hell one time after a game we argued for six hours.......SIX HOURS...... And besides the fact that yeah we're idiots, we have fun, have laughs and have no ill will what so ever toward each other. It lightens things up, you have some fun and it shows that there's nothing personal... A little more humor in some of these threads could only help, IMO
dude I am literally laughing over here......too funny.... what the hell do u think Parcells thinks of this guy....?? Smokescreen!!!! Drum it up boys, then when he is there at 12, call the scarecrow from Dallas, and fleece his arse for a decade worth of picks!!!
DolphinsNews Mandich thinks #Dolphins meeting with WR Dez Bryant is a giant smokescreen. Says #12 has defensive pick written all over it. Get well Mandi!!!!! Go to see your illness hasn't effected your thoughts bro!!
Make your pick and believe in it. just PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dont make me facepalm ala the Ted Ginn or Pat White picks.
He is definitely the guy who teams "shy" away from, hoping that nobody takes him, then someone pulls the trigger on him Kinda like when you read about how Miami was sweating the Chad Henne thing...
Are those Trumpets I'm hearing from the Heavens? Most likely he will be taken before our pick and all this debate on Bryant will be moot. (If it isn't moot already.)
He's still wrong, if that's what you mean. Miami uses player interviews to answer questions about guys on their board. They don't use the process to set up smokescreens. Most if not all of this regime's draft picks were interviewed at one point or another. The Dolphins are talking to Dez Bryant because they are interested in him, not because they're interested in hiding behind him.
As long as they are meeting him over two days that is all I need to know, they'll get the personality issue worked out in their minds. For me I see that this guy knows how to play and maybe more importantly wants to play. Pick the right mentor and he will make a great Dolphin.
Just because we do interview most players that we eventually draft doesn't mean that we don't interview players that we don't intend to draft. That is what makes the process effective as a smokescreen. (Not saying that it is, just that it could be)
This is true, but the point is that being brought in for an interview increases your likelihood of being drafted by this regime. Vontae Davis is a prime example of this phenomenon.
What this team really needs is four new faces on defense - not one new face on offense. This Bryant debate is lunacy. One high profile face never equals a Superbowl.

Tracy Porter isn't the face of the Saints. He isn't even a face. His pick sealed the win, but that isn't really the topic at hand.
defensive play won the SB whether or not he is the face of the franchise is irrelevant BTW you posted the pick of brees and i'm the one straying from the topic
The fact the last play that sealed it was a defensive play, hardly means defense ruled the day.....especially since the Saints D was pretty average, aside from a handful of play makers. The Saints ability to score points puts the opposition in a much tougher position and makes it easier for the the Saints to play defense. Hard to believe ppl can't understand such a simple concept. You make it sound as tho it was a 13-10 victory....
Take Brees away from the Saints and they might not even be a playoff team. Take away Porter and they still stood a better than average chance of winning. And hell, we HAVE cornerbacks already. Lets get a WR.
i still have to ask have you ever seen manning fail in that situation with the game on the line i haven't never said defense ruled the day just that a big play from the defense decided the SB
