haha sorry mang, the 3rd round was where i was gonna pick 2 cb's...it was either ghee or ansah, and figured ansah had too much potential... was also lookin at chad jones, but decided s wasnt a need like cb is for me..
The Ghee pick is very interesting IMO. Great blend of size and speed but he is not comfortable enough in coverage IMO. Doesn't attack downhill and allows a ton of underneath passes. He's got potential though, I am just not a fan of guys who aren't aggressive downhill. That's just a personal preference.
Yeah. It's one of the reasons I kinda like Chicago's gamble on Patrick Robinson. Very physical cornerback that's aggressive and has very quick feet. He jams well too IMO. Problem is, sometimes he looks so lost in coverage. There's another cornerback in this class that hasn't been picked yet that is similar to Robinson IMO.
Yeah but if you're watching completions all night long, you're not going to make it in this league IMO. As I said though, he's got a lot of upside. I just wonder what it takes to get him to be aggressive. I'm fairly confident it wasn't the scheme at Wake Forest because that is an aggressive and complex defense.
Btw, I hope none of this comes off as criticism of anyones picks. Not my intentions, honestly. I'm just trying to get a conversation going to kill some time and get some thoughts on WHY some of the players were picked. If it comes off as criticism, let me know and I won't say anything else.
i was debating whether or not to try and trade up for robinson cause i knew there wasnt a chance in hell of him lasting to the late 2nd, but didnt want my homerism get in the way
I see it as more of a hitters mentality he has the ability out of breaks and good speed, needs to be a bit more aggressive yes but he can do it and with good coaching will be a stud. IMO,. He transitions well, good hips and great straight line speed. But needs to go for teh break up or int instead of the hit, but that can be coached. I wanted Ansah and almost traded up to get him, buit gamble (and lost) he would fall to 72.
Haha. Yeah he's got talent, just needs to put it together. Seems like he's got some of Antonio Cromartie in him but more physicality and less size. I still can't believe he checked out at 5'11". I've watched so many games of his and I could have swore he was shorter. I'm not disagreeing with you about his hips or his talent. I'm just singling out aggressiveness. Watching him at Wake Forest, I didn't see it. One would think that playing opposite of Alphonso Smith for three years, he would make more plays on the ball but he didn't. I'm not saying he won't turn the light on and start making plays on the ball, I'm simply stating what I saw in college. With the talent he has, I hope he does get more aggressive because that's a waste of a ton of talent if he doesn't. Thanks. I think the Gerhart pick can amount to something. It's still a bit odd seeing a white tailback doing the things he does but while I think he doesn't have the long speed to outrun anyone nor does he have the quickness to turn the corner, he has the vision and the quick feet to make up for that. I don't think he'll ever be an ultra-productive back in this league but I think he's a guy who could have a nice role in the two-back system. What I think we can't forget is that despite all his limitations, he ran the stretch play at Stanford damn well. I think that means something. Ansah I've only seen one game of, honestly, so I can't really make a full evaluation or whatever one wants to call it but I like his physicality and I think he has good ball skills. I know some have talked about him being moved to free safety because he's not the cleanest guy changing directions and I don't think that's far-fetched. If he doesn't pan out at CB, move him to FS and see how well he does there. Just don't go the Jason Allen route lol. At worst, you have a good kick returner. Just my two cents though.
i still have felix jones and tashard choice as the 2 top rb's on roster, so theres no real need to force gerhart into the lineup. but i just love the way he runs with the ball. essentially i traded barber for gerhart, which im ok with he's really my #4 cb (for now), so like gerhart, no need to rush him in. potential is just out the roof. thanks for the 2 pesos.
depending on what you want I might be interested in acquiring the pick outright as opposed to a trade down. Let me know what you want in return.
We're gonna get shut down like the PoFo because of two confused (1 sexually, 1 mentally) nameless individuals...
