I don't think Thomas is chopped liver, Slowmotion...He's got some good things going for him. The thing is, due to the injuries inevitably happening along the OL, you've got to have guys that can come in and play. Remember a couple of years ago, I think Thomas' rookie season. We were considering using TE's to play OL, brought in all kinds of guys during the season from the scrap heap and just couldn't get things right. By the time we got into the playoffs, we had all kinds of OL issues that hurt us. Having more guys that can play can only be good. Incognito may or may not crack the lineup. Thomas has had time to heal and hopefully is working hard on his conditioning this offseason, where he didn't have that opportunity last offseason. The revolving door along the interior of the line is more to blame than any one individual player. Smiley, Grove and Thomas all had injury issues last year. Berger and Garner showed some nice stuff filling in, but Incognito is better than either of those guys. That's one more body to use if needed...we can all agree on that...
the Pod is strong & deep they enter the season amongst the very best Thomas is the strongest human being on the team lacks experience, everyday that passes is a plus in his ledger not to be taken lightly all four guards: Smiley, Thomas, Dimitri & Incognito will compete & rotate throughout the season
Maybe they're setting up a statue of liberty play for him. Or a triple-option reverse flea flicker. He's so big and slow, and wears the wrong number. We never give him the ball. The defense would never suspect it. Three years they've been setting it up. Like the Wildcat.
Tore a pec muscle last preseason. BTW, Shawne Murphy, the 08 4th rd pick at G, played 6 plays for the Bucs.
Lets just let them all play for their positions in training camp. Its called competition for a place to be a Dolphin. Simple but true. We are pretty good at OL so any competition can only be good. If it was at Safety.OLB or WR then i would be more worried. OL isnt a weakness.
I hope Thomas comes back with a vengeance, but if he does not, then at least we will have a better player in the RG spot. This team needs to get back to the "competition at every spot" which we seemed to back off a little last year and I think it hurt us.
i agree with sister slowmotion. Donald Thomas is about as useful as a blind person's eyes. Sure, he is there. But he doesn't do anything. Entering his 3rd year as a pro and he hasn't even scored one touchdown. The least he could do is fix some sandwiches for the rest of his contributing teammates. PBJ ftw!
i didnt want to assume you were a guy, and then get accused of being sexist. but now that we all know you're both, we'll just call you hermaphaphin.
That term is offensive to Nick Saban's tenure as head coach. [Insert overzealous attempt to prove masculinity here]. You're just a Magic fan on a Dolphin board, 'tain't that important.
