I guess that could work only if Jack was around 20 when he had Kim because in Season 1, Kim was around 16 years old or so, so if Jack was 20 when he had her, he'd already be 36 years old which sets him up to be around his mid to late 40s due to the time in between each season.
tonights episode was great. The scene with Renae and Jack was one of the coolest scenes i have seen in 24!
Yeah last night's episode was pretty good. I thought the Renee going psycho scene was the best one all season. I also laughed when Jack got stabbed in the stomach and acted like he was dying only to get up a few seconds later to kill a bad guy and is now fine.
By the way according to EW.com, FOX is close to hiring someone to write a screenplay of 24 the movie. The writers are currently working on writing episodes 23 and 24 and a decision could come soon as to whether or not there's going to be a Season 9 so the writers can know how to end the season or series. Right now 24's ratings are down 10% from last year but it's still drawing over 11 million people each week and is the 3rd highest rating on FOX behind Idol and House.
I love the muted tone this season so far.. While highly unlikely, this season seems more "realistic" in nature than some of the previous ones.. I could do without the jealous ex con boyfriend storyline, but overall I am very impressed and engaged with the writing this year. The show has a very dark feel to it when you combine the angst that Rene is going through, and the brutal violence and actions of the Russian Mafia syndicates.... I hope they stay the course and don't create an additional 20 subplots and impossible scenarios.. The pacing is perfect right now the way it is.
i do not like the ex con storyline but last nights part was not bad. I hope it does not tie in with the whole story though...
I would hope that was the case or good luck getting anybody to go see it. I'm enjoying this season so far. Jack was about due for a new love interest, Renee is a good choice IMO. Getting intentionally caught by the Russians may not have been his best plan ever. The excon storyline is a little more bearable now, I couldn't help but laugh a little at how stupid those two dudes are..
Yeah last night's episode was pretty good, although very predictible with the son turning on his father. Overall I still feel like this season is the weakest season other than Season 6 (which there's no way any season could be worse). Everything just feels kind of stale to me still, maybe because everything that doesn't involve Jack, Renee or Cole Ortiz just bores me. The previews for next week look promising though so maybe things will pick up and hopefully it marks the end of the storyline with Dana and her ex-boyfriend.
Actually, I was thinking last night that aside from the Dana storyline, there were more levels of intrigue this season then there's been of late. Doesn't necessarily make for a great season, but it's an interesting plot.
The President/Peace Treaty storyline does nothing for me either. I'm actually surprised that the President Slumdog Millionaire's daughter hasn't been kidnapped yet, I said it out loud during the first episode that I thought she was going to be kidnapped by someone in his office and held for a ransom (there's still time though!).
See, I'm digging it because it's almost Shakespearian -- the benevolent, progressive ruler, betrayed by his brother and driven to delusional paranoia, becomes just as tyrannical the other Mideast despots for whom he's trying to serve as an example.
But it's been done before on 24 too many times. It's just the same storyline but with different characters, who aren't really all that interesting to begin with (at least in my opinion).
fyi, just bought myself a jack pack for school lol. cant believe i never thought of this before lol [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Rothco-Heavyweight-Classic-Messenger-Bag/dp/B0002CKD1M/ref=pd_sbs_a_2"]Amazon.com: Heavyweight Classic Messenger Bag: Sports & Outdoors[/ame] http://thesatchelpages.com/where-to-buy-jack-bauers-24-hour-messenger-bag/ apparently he has this leather one now lol: http://thejacksack.com/2010/01/24-season-8-jack-bauers-leather-bag.html
Yeah that was good as was Jack talking Hastings down and him trying to save Renee. I really like Cole Ortiz and hope they keep building him up. Hopefully the Dana/Jenny storyline will be done with next week. The only thing I didn't like was the bad guy plot because you knew the President's brother was going to turn against them. The whole bad guy plot is pretty weak and I just feel like I'm watching a watered down verison of past seasons with no interesting villian. But I guess we should expect that after 7 seasons of this.
I think the definitive shark-jumping moment may have been Jack's awkward confession of his love for Renee, but everything just had this feel of scriptwriters moving things along in a most perfunctory fashion.
I can't disagree. It did seem to come out of nowhere but hey I'd rather see him running around with her than Audrey.
idk, its not like the character has been sketched to not have love. the love and loss of his wife was the driving force of a lot of his motivation. and obviously he was with audrey. renee is damaged goods though lol
Oh I agree. Jack's had at least 1 love interest in each season (minus Season 7 unless you want to count Renee there). I just never liked Audrey or her character much. My favorite Jack girlfriend was Kate Warner from Season 2, who I also think was the hottest, but she was way too normal for Jack.
a shark jumping list would be fun lol i think the nuke that went off could be argued as one, because it was always a threat and once it happened, there was a definite feeling of, "well now what the heck are they going to do?" that doomed a whole season the chinese infiltrating CTU via the sewers is really the most glaring one, imo. it made absolutely anything possible, which brings to mind the classic "everything/nothing" problem. why am i watching this, to see a rogue 3 year old kill the president? the show still manages to bounce back though.
Really? I thought you could see this Jack/Renee thing coming a mile away. Even since last season a little. I'm surprised it took this long. Jack was overdue for a new girlfriend. He picked a good one this time.
I meant Jack's line to her. The whole exchange. I was just expecting the typical Hollywood moment between the 2 of them.
Season 6 was one big pile of crap from the bomb going off to Jack's brother and dad being involved etc. Just pure crap. Other jump shark moments: Air Force 1 being shot down The 30 different terror plots in Season 4 (seriously going back and rewatch that season, I like it and all, but there are tons of different terror plots that in no way could have happened nor had the terrorist been planning all of them all a long) President Logan being involved Tony dying and coming back to life (which I shouldn't complain about because I love him) Terrorists setting off nerve gas in CTU Jack not being infected by the nerve gas because he held his breathe for over 3 minutes while walking around CTU Jack being exposed to radiation last season and being saved At least 1 or 2 attacks on the President per season leading The White House being under attack via underground Ok there's a lot of those types of moments but like you said 24 is still pretty cool and I enjoy watching it.
I still have a feeling that President Slumdog's daughter is going to get kidnapped. I know I've been saying it since the first episode or so but I just still have that feeling. A decent episode last night, anytime a TV show or movie uses the Weekend at Bernie's storyline is ok with me. My only problem is that Dana has been missing from CTU for almost 3 hours now and Cole Ortiz has been gone for 2, yet besides from a throw away line by Hastings no one is concerned or looking for them, especially now that the stakes are raised and CTU's 2nd in charge in the field, Owen, recently graduated from high school.
lol. i like hastings. its refreshing to see a normal guy in charge thats trying to do the right thing not be nitpicky...but that last couple of minutes...i dont get it. pretty ridiculous series of events. and of course the random sealed chamber just waiting to be jumped into by homeless people, bratty kids and terrorists i did like the dead body prop though
Yeah I don't know how you can't catch some gimpy terrorist who just threw himself out a window before he hobbles into some random sealed chamber. Looks like Jack is going to use his mother in the coming episode to stop him from killing himself. Smart, unethical, but really smart.
decent episode i guess. the previews for next week has me a little scared. hastings running around calling for security....oh boy. not another CTU attack
Yeah I heard something big happens at CTU in the next few episodes. Hopefully it's not an attack or another mole but unfortunately what else could it be? Maybe Dana will try to kill herself? I'm guessing that or Slumdog President or his wife try to kill themselves over what happens to their daughter.
Looks like this is going to be the last season of 24: http://weblogs.variety.com/on_the_a...n-on-24-kiefer-and-company-call-it-a-day.html Can't say that this was a shock or not expected. I still don't think this changes anything for the final episodes since they would be stupid to kill off Jack especially since they're working on a movie. Unless the movie is based on events that take place between past seasons which would be awesome since they could bring back David Palmer, Tony, Michelle etc.
I'd love a movie set during the Palmer administration. They had better hurry though before Kiefer Sutherland ages too much more.
If they'd ever do a movie based on past events my vote would be for Operation Nightfall, which was the main reason for Season 1. That way you have Jack, Tony, David Palmer, Nina, George Mason, Ryan Chapell, Kim as possible characters along with Victor Drazon. They can also show how Nina got involved with being a traitor. Or based on the 24 video game which take place between seasons 2 and 3 and explain who was behind the attempted Palmer hit and that cast of characters would be Jack, Kim, Chase, Tony, Michelle, Ryan Chapell, Nina, David Palmer, Sherri Palmer, Wayne Palmer, and Chloe which would be a fantastic cast right there. The only problem with those movies would be you know coming in that the characters are safe.
