My B-day is coming up and my Mother-in-law came over this weekend also. She wanted to give me my present early(she's not good at secrets) so I said ok. As the story goes: My brother-in-law is a Superintendent at a golf course and is well liked by the community. There was an older lady that was moving and had some things she wanted to get rid of due to space restrictions. So she asked him if he wanted a few football "things" she didn't care for knowing he was a fan of the game.He is a Bucs fan btw,but also likes the Fins.He looked around and found these and gave her some money for them.In turn he gave them to me for my Birthday and Christmas gift. he never told me what he paid. I am grateful , it's been a long while that something genuinely good has happened to me personally. I figured the best way for me to share my gift is to show other Dolphins' fan's. This is an autographed plaque of Dan.It has all the paperwork too.His records(after he retired) are supposed to be in the top, right hand corner. Not a good camera phone pic. Man! I love this one.I might have shed a tear when I opened this but I won't tell.It has the letter of authenticity also.No need for me to say who it's from. The signature in front is from OG when I ran into him at a Jags game a few years ago. I don't believe someone practically gave this stuff away, but hey, I must be the lucky one. It's been a good day..........
I met him once at an autograph sitting and 3 or so weeks after that I literally ran into him at a Walmart down the street from the stadium on University. It was funny because I walked right up to him and started talking. He looked at me like I was crazy or I shouldn't have known who he was in the first place. When I shook his hand his knuckles were close to my wrist! LMAO
Absolutely AWESOME brother. Good thing for good family...in law BTW: Hope your daughter is kicking life
Thanks,Kenny. It was a great surprise, and yes,I have VG family-in-law. Danielle is fine. She is ahead of progress and the cranial facial surgeon told us she "more than likely" will not need the next surgery. That's great news because the rest is all cosmetic....... Thank you for asking.
She's forever in my thoughts brother. Not that it matters, but what is a signed helmet like that go for?
Honestly I have no idea. I would have to look it up on E-Bay or something like that. I will let it go for $1000. No I wouldn't....
I wasn't sure where this post was going when I read the first bit but it sounded intriguing. anyways that is some cool stuff you got there luck was on your side!
For a wedding gift, my Ex gave me a mini helmet signed by Trace Armstrong, Bryan Cox, Aubrey Beavers and Chuck Klingbiel. I wouldn't sell it either but I'd also love a mini signed by ZT...
I noticed that u said this. I guess the most important thing at this point is you got to keep the helmet? Still a very cool gift no matter what the occasion.
