It looks like Miami is talking to the Lions in regards to some trades of players and picks. The player that we are looking at is Cliff Avril. Now before you go off, I don't have a link it's but it is from two other sites out there. It seems that we might be making a move here. Take it for what it's worth but I would bet this goes down since he is only a 23 yr old that will move to SOLB. Hope it goes thru guys.
A typo of legit. The only link I can find about this is one to a thread on the other site with no link.
CK posted earlier that he heard on the radio that its rumored to be Cliff Avril for a mid round pick.
Was the rumor directly related to Miami or was it just that Avril can be had to whoever makes the offer?
Absolutely. You have to love trading players with ****ty teams like the Lions too. They need help at so many positions that you can almost always find a player that's expendable.
He was a 3rd rounder, so anything 5th and up is all I would give. If he was a kegit player, the Lions would be asking for a 2nd or better. Obviously he has not met expectations so "sliding" one round is way too high. Two rounds or worse is all he's worth.
He had hamstring issues for most of the year. Obviously, that hampered his production. I just don't understand why Detroit would be giving up on him already when he obviously has some talent. They don't have a lot of quality depth at the position and they prob wouldn't be getting a higher pick than they spent. Only thing that would really make sense is multiple players from our side or a pick and player(s). And we're already down a few picks.
Maybe they think he'll be a better fit at OLB in a 3-4 than as a DE in Detroit's 4-3? Dolphins would get a young guy with promise (if that's what the FO sees) and the Lions, who need all the picks they can get, get a 4th for a guy who doesn't fit their system very well. It's similar to the Dolphins picking up Randy Starks...he was a young guy who didn't really meet expectations with his team. We signed him and he was an afterthought to a lot of people...and then basically played like our defensive MVP last season.
You kindve contradicted your earlier post, but came around to your senses with this one I am not to excited about giving up a 4th rounder for an offcast from the lowly Lions. What's next? A 3rd for a Raiduhs QB?
I think that's why it was originally posted as Kegit I would consider Finheaven AS Kegitimit as Armando as far as sources go.
Hopefully you guys can actually understand it was a typo when I typed kegit instead of legit there both next to each other and I didn't have glasses on. Perhaps I shouldn't let anyone know whats going on in the future?
never know what the front office is up to always turning over rocks & picking up acorns, churning the bottom of the roster, there will be a number of surprises this year, I'm sure. don't see OLB as a need, but if there is an opportunity to improve the roster, it will be done
Well some rumors are just made up while others are actually based on sources. The latter would be considered legit.
well, here's one that's made up, totally fabricated & I believe every word of it McFadden will be traded to Miami in the off season for either Porter or GinnJr. to the Raiders, effectively resolving any issues (future or present) in the RunningBackStable
i DO see OLB as a need with this defense ... it is a Parcells staple - and Wake is not the answer ... at least to this point. We are still looking for that game changing OLB -- and we won't win a SB until we find one. it is the absolute #1 need in this defense. which is of course, why i promoted all season that Merriman would be our primary FA pick-up, assuming that he is finally 100% healed from his knee problems (steroids or no steroids).
Well let's say you said we were going to trade Ted Ginn for Reggie Wayne, that would obviously be made up. However, if I said that I heard from a source (in this case that source is you) that we were trading Ted Ginn for Reggie Wayne that would be a legit rumor because it has a source? Seems silly. A source can be anyone. If there is confirmation from someone in an organization it's no longer a rumor, it's news.
I think everyone figured that out and they were just having fun with it, as opposed to making fun of you. But it is kind of a catch word now. A rumor that has some substance but not yet confirmed? Gives the thread a kind of character, I like it. Mind if I keep using it?
i don't know much about this kid.how is he in coverage? would we be getting another cam wake type player in that his only fortay(SP) is pass rush?if indeed this is kegit this could be writing on the wall that we are losing/getting rid of both jp and jt.it was fairly knowledgable we are parting with jp but think this seals jt's fate.not sure how i would feel going into the draft without a 4 and 5.
Well it all depends on the reliability of the source. Some random person mentioning a rumor has no reliability but someone who has previously given correct information has more reliability, thus making the rumors legit.
People that post rumors don't divulge their source, so how could one credit or discredit the reliability of an unidentified source? Like I said, rumors are rumors are rumors. Some may seem more likely than others but it doesn't change that it is still a rumor. If they have legitimacy (ie confirmation) it is no longer rumor, it is news.
