Anyone have any experience in running older Windows stuff in Virtual Box? I have the Win NT 3.51 CD, but in Virtual Box the CD is not recognized and I have no floppy drive to boot into the CD to install it.
Doesn't Virtualbox have a "custom" OS mode that allows you to install an unrecognized OS? I might be confusing Virtualbox with VMWare Fusion, though.
Sadly no, VB requires the same setup routine as if one was actually installing the OS in question, the NT 3.51 CD is not bootable, and switches such as Winnt \? that supposedly would obviate the need for images of the bootdisk are not available until later in the process.
Install Win 3.51 NT on Virtual Box. NT 4.0 goes on without a hitch, the problem is my disks do not have a keycode and I'm clueless when it comes to the whole Cracker/Keygen stuff. Copies of NT 3.51 preconfigured for VB already exist, but they are bittorrent items and I have -0- experience with that service. As for the ultimate goal, besides the personal fun of having a WFW 3.11 style format, is to sidestep those pesky blankety blank "you are using Opera and XP your address is XXXXXXXXX " siglines that some people use via this ancient OS.
