And they got fleeced in the trade - not even a pick in this year’s draft.

31 Million Dead money this year. But Houston may be a force to be reconned with this year. They loaded up.

I don't think that's correct. The Bills will most likely save whatever Digg's cap hit was ( I believe that was over $19m this year).

If Diggs had any bonus money that he was paid in earlier years, and it was being prorated out, then the Bills may need to pay that.

So, I did some digging (no pun intended) and it does indeed look as if the Bills cap hit will be that high. It looks like his last contract had a guarantee of nearly $50m and this season's salary was fully guaranteed if he was on the team come March 17th, 2024. With his prorated bonuses and that salary the Bills cap hit for him will be $31m...lmao...Th Texans cap hit will be about $19m this season and they will pay the remaining of his contract.

I have never enjoyed being wrong until now. haha

Diggs went 8-1 against Miami during his time with the Bills, with 719 yards and seven touchdowns. He averaged 13.6 yards per catch and 9.2 yards per target in those games.

The Bills — who this offseason have gutted the core that won all of those titles — will presumably look to the draft to replace him, but the best prospects will be long gone by the time they go on the clock with pick No. 28.

The trade leaves the Bills with just four wide receivers on their roster: Curtis Samuel, Mack Hollins, Justin Shorter, and Khalil Shakir.

Good deal for Miami. The Bills are taking a step back to try and reload for another playoff run.
Need to take advantage of that this year.

I fear McConkey will be available to them at 28. I’d love to see that kid fall to the 2nd round and maybe give us a chance at him, but that’s probably not going to happen. So I really hope someone in the NFC grabs him before the Bills pick at 28.

lol… I know you’re being facetious, but JA was a different QB before Diggs. Granted he had only 2 seasons under his belt before Diggs was traded for, but Allen was literally horrible in those 2 seasons.

I'm not familiar with Teair Tart, but bringing in Danielle Hunter to Houston would explain why he's available.

Defensive tackle Teair Tart visited with the Bengals last month, but he’s reportedly set to sign with a different AFC team.

Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report reports that Tart has agreed to terms on a contract with the Dolphins. There’s no details about the terms of that deal.

Tart split last season between the Titans and the Texans. He joined the Titans in 2020 and played 11 games for the team last season before being released. He was claimed off of waivers by the Texans and appeared in two games for them before the end of the regular season.

Tart has 79 tackles, 2.5 sacks, an interception and a fumble recovery in 47 career games.

I actually think he has good potential.
He’s been really solid at times. He needs to watch his weight, but he can be a beast. Let’s hope.

I don’t mind the Tart signing. Tennessee was a tough team to run against. It was their pass defense that was epically bad.

The Dolphins had a pair of first-round picks in 2021 and they will be holding onto both of them through at least the 2025 season.

Dolphins General Manager Chris Grier said at a Tuesday press conference that the team will exercise their fifth-year options on the contracts of wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and edge rusher Jaelan Phillips. The contracts will be fully guaranteed with Waddle set to make $15.6 million and Phillips’ salary set at $13.3 million.

Waddle had 72 catches for 1,014 yards and four touchdowns last season and he’s posted 251 catches for 3,385 yards and 18 touchdowns. His former Alabama teammate and fellow 2021 first-rounder Devonta Smith agreed on Monday to a three-year, $75 million extension that will kick in after his own fifth-year option plays out, so that deal could factor into Waddle’s own bid for a long-term deal.

Phillips tore his Achilles in Week 12 last season, so he’s on his way back from a serious injury to kick off his fourth season. He had 6.5 sacks before getting hurt.

I doubt it. His strength seems to be stopping the run and getting that pressure up the middle.

He said in the offseason that was something he was going to work on. Looks like it paid off. He plays a difficult position with the amount of hits he takes. The added muscle should help him throughout the season.

Lions out here dropping BOMBS the day before the draft. LT Sewell 4 @ 112 and WR St.Brown 4@120.

That latter mark will affect our negotiation with Waddle for sure. Maybe something between Devonta Smith's deal and St. Brown's deal.

Phillips and Waddle having their options exercised. No brainer, IMO. I think this shows Phillips is tracking well on returning early enough to be impactful this season:
