Chad Henne [173] ++ I'm voting for the guy who is more fun to watch, is more important to the team, has more pressure on his shoulders, has the more difficult position to play, and is the rarest commodity in the NFL. When I tune in on Sunday, I'm watching #7... Jake Long [262] -- not #77. No disrespect Jake.
Chad Henne [171] - Jake Long [264] + Love Henne and hope he throws for 40/10 but I gotta vote for the Proven guy in Jake.
Chad Henne [170] --- Hasn't earned it yet, hope to vote for him next year. Jake Long [265] +++ 2 Pro Bowls in first two years, THAT is earning it!
Chad Henne [170] + Hasn't earned it? He went 7-6 in his first year as a starter. Peyton Manning went 3-13. Jake Long [265] - Nothing bad to say about Jake. But I didn't see him orchestrating any 4th quarter comebacks last year.
No, Jake just gave Chad time to make those comebacks. Jury's out on Henne until his 2nd season as a starter. Chad Henne [169] - Jake Long [266] +
I don't think you understand just how important Jake is to the team. Sure Henne is the man with the ball in his hand, but Jake is the most important person on the O-line, because he protects Henne's blindside. And ever since Jake has been there, he has excelled all expectations. And to compare Henne and Manning is ridiculous. Im just getting the impression you vote for whoever has the lower votes. IE Ricky and now Henne. Im probably wrong but your arguments to vote against Jake are stupid.
First of all, anybody may vote for any player they want for whatever reason they want. I've been voting for Ricky and Henne since this contest started. With a few other votes towards other players, but I've gone between Ricky and Henne since the contest started, so your accusation of me voting for the player with the lowest total is way off base. Secondly, there is no reason whatsoever for you to refer to my arguments as stupid. Number one rule of this contest is debate the votes and have fun, but don't get personal. I respect everyone who is voting for Jake. He is definitely worthy to be top 2, and I'll be happy for him if he wins. Here's where our opinions differ- All of you can argue up and down how Jake is crucial to the team. You wouldn't be wrong. But the simple fact is you could make that argument about any position on the team. The offensive lineman would be pointless without a QB to protect. A WR would be worthless without a QB to throw the ball too. A RB would be worthless without a line to block, etc. etc. Football is a team sport. Every position is crucial. Bottom line is as great as a player as Jake is, and he is a great one, no doubt, but teams in today's NFL can survive with an average LT. They can't survive with an average QB. I think Henne proved in his first year as a starter that he's a better than average QB. That's why I'm voting for him. Because a QB gets all the glory when a team wins, and takes all the **** when a team loses. The only reason I compared Henne to Manning is everyone keeps holding his 7-6 record against him. As if a winning record in his first season as a starter is a bad thing. That's my reason for voting for Henne. You might think it's stupid but I ask that you respect my vote the same I way I respect the votes for Long.
Chad Henne [165] ++++++ hes running the ship now Jake Long [270] ------- hes a beast in the trenches for sure, but Henne is the engine that will drive our team
Chad Henne [164] - Just because he's running the ship doesn't mean the ship will run well. I'm hopeful, but I don't vote for hope. Jake Long [271] + Has been consistently at the top of his game. Totally proven.
