The Los Angeles Lakers will tip off Thursday to try to win their 10th NBA championship, their fourth this decade. The first championship, in 2000, might have been the most exciting one, as Shaq finally got his first ring with Kobe finally breaking through as a winner. Heck, that ring must be awfully valuable. Actually, it's worth at least $22,500; someone's selling theirs on eBay http://deadspin.com/5012591/so-which-2000-laker-needs-some-cash The seller is obviously wishing to remain anonymous. His eBay name is 340-4Speed...apparently not a former center. Heres the link to the listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/LAKERS-CHAMPION...ryZ25168QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
My guess is it's a trainer or staff member, not a player. The seller is a serious ebayer, and I don't see ridiculously expensive stuff having been auctioned off there.
Could very well be a trainer. Still begs the question as to why you would wanna sell it? Id have to be in some SERIOUS debt to sell something like that, regardless of how many I had.
Looks like the owner of the ring is getting someone else to sell it for them. Could be a pending divorce, and he's selling an asset to get his new bank account started. Probably a guy falling on hard times (foreclosure?).
It's a "ladies size" ring (8.5), so I doubt it is from a player. My guess is a trainer, unless someone got this ring sized for their pinky.
Without looking, is this a confirmed ring? If it is a womens ring, perhaps Jeannie Buss is bored with her jewelry and is making room for the shiny NEW ring she is about to receive for this season?
