Byron Maxwell, CB, Miami Dolphins To say that Maxwell is having an up-and-down season would be underselling it. Fresh off one of the best games of his career, Maxwell once again provided the role of theoretical obstacle to the passing game only. In Miami’s win over the Bills, Maxwell gave up 106 receiving yards and a touchdown, allowing 26.5 yards per catch and a passer rating of 141.4 when targeted."
I have seen several people laying the blame entirely on Maxwell for the play. Perhaps he may have been able to play it a little tighter, but the reality is he expected Thomas to help with the coverage over the top and Thomas was late getting there.
He expected to have over the top coverage so he played trailing to take away a short/back shoulder throw like Tannehill and Stills on that last TD. At least, I think that's the claim. Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
