I really didn't want to see this coming but a lot of us did. I've never see a roster so unprepared for the season. Especially at RB, LB and of course CB. WE let Miller get away, get outbid on Anderson and then hedge our bets on a habitually injured Foster. We get rid of Grimes (trust me, I'd had enough of Miko too) and then plug in Maxwell who was a huge benefit of covering each teams 2nd or 3rd WR when in Seattle and admits he left to get paid. I've been surprised by Kiko so far that he hasn't been a dog but we didn't do anything to augment the other LB roles. This in addition to a rookie head coach, new offense and new defense has turned us into a garbage dump. What does Tannenbaum even do? I don't think firing him during the season is the right move but what's the plan here? We've sucked for so long! I'm sick of reloading at the executive positions GM and Coach. But there needs to be consequences if we don't make the playoffs this year. Tannenbaums been overseeing a sh!t show for two years and making tons of money.
How on earth do you hire this clown to begin with. Starts at the top, and I have never bashed our owner, other then saying Tannenbaum is an awful hire, but at this point, I am not sure how we will ever be successful with Ross heading this Organization. Its pathetic.
Some people have been on the Fire Tannenbaum trail since day one. He completely ruined the jest (good for us) so how did he ever even qualify for the job here in the first place?
Great short post on the site that shall not be named, but the gist is that Ross has INSISTED on building a team around an Elite QB - finesse. Tannehill can be a decent starter on a team with a strong running game and defense, but this entire team is built (poorly, too as is obvious) for an elite QB that jumps out to an early lead forcing the opponent to face a scalding pass rush. Ross just hired someone in Tannenbaum that would agree with him that Tanny was or could quickly be developed into such a QB. It's Ross's desire to relive the Marino years and an apparent disdain for physical football that is at the heart of this.
I have been on the fire Tannebaum bandwagon since the day he was hired. This hire never made any sense to me. Other than the fact he was in New York and Ross seems to like him, he proved with the Jets he isn't capable of putting together a quality football team. He left the Jets in shambles and in cap hell when he was fired. The only thing he seems good at is spending the owners money on substandard talent. Until Ross hires someone as head of football operations who actually understands how to build a football team, the Dolphins are going to continue to be a bottom tier team in the NFL. Ross just doesn't have a clue as an NFL owner. He has had 8 years as the majority owner of the Dolphins to learn the football side of the business and he seems to be getting worse instead of better.
When the best thing that can be said about players you acquired is "Well, one of them isn't soul crushingly bad" then you may not be a good GM
i was a big fan initially, but he sucks ***. ross has turned into a sympathetic figure in all of this lol, hopefully he does the right thing at season end.
I don't know why, Ross has done plenty to earn criticism over the years, he's been a terrible for a long time, at this point he might be the worst owner in the NFL.
The trade with Philly was a nightmare, I hated that deal the second it went down. You don't move down in the 1st round without acquiring more draft picks, especially when you're picking top 10, that's just common sense. I remember a report that the deal might be dead because Maxwell had trouble passing the physical...how many dolphin fans were praying it killed the deal? All the eagles fans were praying the deal went through, and they got their wish, they essentially have us to thank for Wentz, we let them move into the top 10 without losing any of their picks so they were able to package them all to Cleveland to get to #2. That trade with Miami alone should win Howie Roseman exec of the year.
We should get a banner flying at the next home game. "PLEASE ROSS, SAVE OUR FINS, FIRE TANNENBAUM!!!"
I hated this guy from day one. History is repeating itself, all the stupid mistakes he made in New York are also being made in Miami.
Hey, well, only like five more years of tanny after this one. Year 3 will see Gase fired "as the problem" then 3 more years with whatever warm body tanny hires.
