I disagree about the should be playing left tackle part.

What do you suppose is the overall line improvement from the way it is now to swapping Albert & Tunsil? Is it really going to be THAT big of a difference? No. However, if you make that switch, then you're potentially damaging the relationship with Albert and vets in the future. Basically, to me, the reward is minor and not worth the potential sacrifice.

Now. when Albert goes down inevitably this year? Then hells yeah, Tunsil at LT.

I'm afraid to ask who will be at G when that scenario occurs (and I agree, it's most likely to happen).

And is it just me, or does Albert look a tad sluggish this year?

I dunno. My hope is Turner.

As far Albert looking sluggish....I no longer base any opinions on what veterans look like in the preseason...especially older injury prone ones as I assume most are half assing it out there.

If it has hair around its base then welcome to manhood.

If that's not the case - maybe I should mention it could be the wrong forum.

he is definitely the best lineman by far. shake down year for albert, I picture Tunsy starting at LT by mid year. maybe albert comes back as guard. pounced and albert at guard, james and tunsy at tackle

When that region actually is active?? You should always man-scape.

80% of this board likely have no need too.

"Has a lot to learn" ...... And that's fine..... So long as he's not buried behind Dallas Thomas.

Gase seems to like to have his guards and centers pull outside. On that basis I think Tunsil is better suited to LG than Albert in this offense purely on mobility grounds.

Ah, makes sense. I did see a pull with Laremy against Dallas on one play and he did an excellent job. The G (or whomever) who stayed in to block and, IIRC, ended up being a negative run. Laremy looked very fluid on that play, though.

Tunsil sliding is irrelevant in Miler's case. Dude should have been re-signed to his contract demands no questions asked. It's not like we're talking AP money.

In Miller's case we still have the cap room to fit him in full rate under our current cap. In which case we could have spent our 3rd rounder on a LB (available at 73 were Jordan Jenkins, Kyle Fakrell, Joe Schobert, and Nick Vigil) instead of a RB who was a known injury risk and who now looks like he might be PUP for the season.
